I stayed at this pleasantly situated site for a couple of nights at the end of the season. As has been said on other reviews the facilities are in need of updating and look a bit stale. I was also disappointed that the lights in the toilet/shower blocks were not switched on until well after dark which is not very customer focused. It was reasonably priced and very peaceful and I would probably go back as it is conveniently situated.

We spent a 7 night family holiday here & were pleasantly surprised. The site is quite small & pleasantly quiet. The facilities are a bit dated, but they were always clean & served their purpose. The site was clean & friendly. The couple running the site were a bit unpredictable. The lady was charming, but the gentleman appeared to be a bit grumpy which could be off putting. The small shop kept the essentials & provided an excellent cool block freezing service. All in all we would recommend this site for a quiet family holiday. It provided excellent valu for money. If you want a site with lots of entertainment though look elsewhere. I'd give the place 8 out of 10

We had a lovely week here at this site and the area around it. The site provides basic, but clean facilities. It has a very traditional feel to it. I'd give it a solid 3/5 star rating. Minor quibbles are: I think it is a little pricey for the facilities it provides. We had to pay 20p each to freeze ice blocks and I have a suspicion that the freezer was on a low setting as the blocks never seemed to be fully frozen when we picked them up the following day. The hot water was not always piping hot for washing up plates. There were no lights in the washing-up area so you couldn't wash-up after dark. No shower curtains in the shower cubicles so it was tricky to have a shower without getting some clothes wet or changing outside the cubicle and losing some privacy. But these are minor quibbles; a very peaceful, well maintained site.

We have been going to this site for several years now. It is well located for cycling, walking, boating and fishing. It is about a mile from wareham - walking along the river. Wareham has a supermarket, tackle shop, bakeries and a cafe called the 5 an dime which serves a great fried breakfast. The river by the bridge is free fishing. The site is quiet and has free showers and a shop(limited opening). They prefer people to arrive before 9pm to pitch a place. The ground is relatively flat. This is a great site.

This was our second visit to Ridge Farm and we weren't disappointed. This is a very well run, small, friendly site. The wash facilities are rather old but kept very clean. There was plenty of room for our three small children to play around the site and were made to feel welcome! We would be happy to recommend this site.

We stayed at this site on April 29th and 30th 2006. Ridge Farm Camping & Caravan Park is ideally located for touring Poole and the Isle of Purbeck. It is a relatively small site, but it is exceptionally quiet and off the beaten track. It is a short drive to the Saxon walled town of Wareham, and Dorset's excellent beaches are nearby. The site has a small shop which opens for a limited number of hours each day to sell newspapers and other provisions. The camping field is quite well sheltered from prevailing winds, and is level over it's entire area. However part of the site was still quite wet when we visited during the May Bank holiday. The washing and toilet facilities are kept very clean indeed, and are more than adequate. There is also a washing up area which is under cover. We visited for May Bank Holiday 2006 with our three children, and although we only stayed two nights, it was ideal. We will be returning, and I would certainly recommend Ridge Farm to others. August 2005 Spent a couple of nights here during first week of August. Small flat site, very clean and very friendly. The shower-block / washing up facilities are ok but could do with updating. The shop was well stocked. Not much for kids to do on-site but there's so much to do / see on Purbeck that it didn't matter. Use Wareham for Somerfield / swimming pool etc. Would definitely stay again.

May 2005 This is a lovely campsite although small. We were there over the BH weekend and it was very busy but not overcrowded. There are well marked pitches and a lovely little shop selling fresh croissants every morning - you have to be quick when it's busy! There is a reasonable shower block. covered washing up area and little washing room. The only problem we had was that because it was so busy the hot water ran out a couple of times and there wasn't anywhere specific for the children to play. Everyone was very friendly though and we would definitely consider going there again!

August 2004 Friendly and efficient welcome. Clearly marked level pitches, with good services (electric hook-up available).
Toilets & showers are basic but kept clean and although only three showers available in each of the gendered blocks, was more than enough. Separate Washing up room and launderette room next to the toilet / shower blocks which were located opposite the reception and shop. Shop was well stocked with a variety of goods and fresh bread, rolls, croissants, scones etc. available every morning.
An ideal, tranquil location within easy reach of Purbecks, Kimmeridge, Lulworth, Corfe Castle & Swanage. Due to it’s location near the river, it can get a little misty in the evenings and early mornings. We would highly recommend Ridge Farm for a quite break and will definitely be returning.

July 2004 We have just spent a lovely couple of nights at Ridge Farm. Facilities were fairly basic and a bit old but OK for us and our two young children. Owners and campers very friendly and the shop seems to have everything you need and more. Weather was lovely and Swanage railway was excellent.
