We've stayed here before and the location is fantastic: close to the South Downs Way, with walking and cycling right out of the field.

However, you need to consider how important a good night's sleep is to you. Whilst the 'no rules, anything goes' vibe is in some ways refreshing, it can be noisy.

No-one around us got any sleep as one large group had a generator to power a loud sound system and lights until 5am. Fine if you want to attend raves, maybe camp elsewhere if you've got an early start planned.

Beautiful campsite and amazing setting - as a group we were bikepacking which did mean the the road leading to the campsite was a little tricky.

Although very easy to find and lots of space in field.

Facilities as expected but all clean :)

Farmer super friendly and amenable. A little bit of a trek to the local pub although again we were on bikes / foot so easy if your in a car ! All in all perfect nights stay will come again!

Thanks

New House Farm doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. It's basic. A few portaloos and a few taps. But, if that's what you're prepared for, it's a fabulous spot a short ride from the South Downs Way.

The field is massive and - at least while we were there - we had nobody within earshot. Most guests were in camper vans, which means limited facilities are irrelevant.

We've had a wet June but - surprisingly - no sign of anyone having issues getting up to and across the field.

The owner was very friendly and informal driving to meet guests and take payment - £10 per pitch per night - with the offer of eggs and firewood.

He could have mowed a little closer to the edge of the field as most people seem to be pitched in long grass, but no other suggestions.

Firstly call the site rather than send an enquiry as they don't pick them up! Very laid back and friendly back to basic site in beautiful countryside.

Expect some bigger groups of families and young people, the sound travels so you can hear others having fun which personally I like, but everyone was respectful and things were very quiet after 10/11 at night.

The track leading to the site is very lumpy and bumpy with loose shingle and stone but we got there ok in our Motor Home so don't let it put you off!

We will definitely return as it's only a few miles from home and we really felt like we were away from it all for the night.

A lovely place for family groups as it feels safe and the children can explore the woods and will enjoy making proper campfires in the evening too.

The very friendly farmer comes around to collect your pitch fee (just £15 for two adults and three dogs in a motorhome) and sells firewood and fresh eggs too.

Didn't try the facilities but it is just basic portaloo's, fresh water and a chemical loo disposal area.

Lovely place to relax for a weekend!

Very nice campsite in a beautiful out of the way rural location. Facilities are basic. Two porta loos and a stand pipe. The owners from the farm came round with fire pits and logs that were available to book.

The campsite itself was perfectly nice although I was slightly disappointed with the views that were more far reaching and more interesting from the adjoining fields only a few moments walk away. Always think it's nice to have those views from sat outside your tent.

Our stay was for one sunny Saturday night in June and was accompanied by the group of young lads who play their music too high and seem to be the pre requisite of any camping experience I have ever had. Are they perhaps the same guys at every site?

However. They seemed to behave themselves. Never thought It would come to me complaining about late teen lads playing Barry Manalo songs late into the night.

Nice site. Very peaceful, apart from Barry. Would stay again.

Been coming to this campsite for 14 years, not been for a while however. Beautiful half term weather made it blissful. Site was not too busy with tons of space to camp.

Stunning views and beautiful woodland walks too. Farmer friendly as ever and bought eggs and great wood that burnt well off him.

Track leading to the site is very bumpy and slow driving essential! I don't like the plastic loos, wish they could be substituted for composting ones. After the bank holiday weekend some needed attention.

Some selfish people playing loud music until dawn, which isn't tolerated by the farmer- so if you come across it then call and he will come and get them to turn it off.

This is the perfect place when you need to sit in field to recover from the pace of life but have teenagers. It affords them the need to roam safely, be, respectfully, noisy and tend the fire.

The amount of space leads to truly diverse campers and little intrusion, should you choose. To be able to share such a beautiful farm is something we are grateful for.

My only considerations for improvements relate to the facilities. And in the knowledge that too much construction would blight the beauty of the site. After so many years I am surprised portaloos remain. But alternatives may have been tried. Water supply was also not great requiring a drive as nearest tap pressure was so bad.

Looking forward to our next stay.

 Amazing location and friendly owner.

Not glamorous but perfect for a night with kids to have fire and play games.

View is spectacular and great for walking in woods

We love this campsite. Have been coming here for 30 years. The facilities are basic. Water and toilets. But that's all we need.

Dogs and fires and music allowed. So can be a tad noisy at times. Farmer sells wood if needed.

The farmer is wonderful, super friendly and accomodating. The site itself is in a wonderful location.

Massive field surrounded by woodland, perfect site for big extended family/friend get togethers.

Lovely place and, despite there being quite a few families with kids, it was very peaceful at night.

Owner very friendly and had fresh eggs to sell as he drove round collecting fees.

The long road to the main site is NOT for the faint- hearted: Very stony and bumpy (hence the 9 for site location), but it was and adventure!
