Having just returned from this site I thought I would add my comments.
We stayed for a week in a static caravan hired from the site. The van cost £600 for the week, this included access to the on site club but access to the swimming pool was £20 extra.
The caravan itself was nearly new and was clean and tidy. As part of the package you got 4 patio chairs and a tv/dvd combo. I think with some of the cheaper vans this option was £50 extra.
The site is showing it's age and could do with a lick of paint and some TLC. On the site there is a basic shop, a kids playground and a good size indoor swimming pool with a flume.
We only visited the pool once and it was virtually empty. The changing rooms where clean and the pool was nice and warm. The pool is in two sections one for toddlers the other for older kids and adults. The pool is worth a visit on rainy days, though I wished we had asked about a day pass rather than buying the £20 week pass.
The kids playground has the usual swings and round-about, plus a pirate boat as it's centre piece.
The club is a your typical site club with velvet seats and a dodgy bingo machine. The entertainment was hit and miss but just what you would expect and no better or worse than other sites I have been to.
The club also has an arcade for the kids attached to the back of the club. 20% of the arcade machines didn't work but the kids all seem to love it just he same.
The site also has it's own kids club run by Lucy and Leon. All the kids I saw seemed to enjoy the club especially at night when they had party games, plus most nights had a kids cabaret act. Some where dreadful and others (Jungle Jim) were excellent.
Where the site shown though was it's position, with it's own access to a secluded spot in Harlyn Bay. The beach is accessed by a dirt path about 300m long, the path was a little water logged but considering the amount of rain we had it was no surprise.
At the bottom of the path there is a steepish slope down to the beach, there are no facilities so it's a trek back to the caravan is anything is forgotten.
The beach itself was excellent and ideal for kids, it even had it's own little cave / rock pool that all the kids seemed to love exploring
Locally, Padstow is 3 miles away and Newquay is a 30 min drive (if you really want to go). The Eden Project and other attractions are also in easy reach most being around 30 mins drive.
I would recommend this site to anyone with kids who love the beach.
If you want a caravan with a view (and a superb view it is) then the bay view caravans are worth the premium.

Came here for two weeks with my Mum and Dad as he had been before, really loved it. The site has every thing you want for a fab holiday, clean showers and toilets, swimming pool, kids play area and a great club, that had some good entertainment for this time of year. Also two great guys, Captain Crumble and Tricky Ricky who had the kids on stage and kept them entertained all night. Nice little beach on site and lovely views on the cliff top walk. They have a great carvery and we all loved that. All in all great site all round and looking forward to returning here again at Easter.

Returned to this site again for 2 weeks 20 Sept to 4 Oct. Quite a lot here as well and at only £6 a night, inc EHU, no wonder only a few pitches vacant.
The site had some good turns on in the club even though quite late in the season, plus the Grandkids always love Captain Crumble and Tricky Ricky, who entertain all the kids great. We were blessed with some cracking weather and this helped a lot.
The site was great, toilets and showers always clean. Had a Sunday carvery (help yourself as much as you can eat))and it was really good, three choices of meat and a great selection of veg, yorky puds and gravy. Beer prices very good, in fact cheaper than in Nott`m.
Grandkids loved the pool and play area and there is some great views from the top walk from the site and only a few mins walk to the beach, so a great time here again. We are looking forward to Easter for another trip here.

Visited in August 2008, have 2 kids aged 8 and 5. Fabulous site, big enough to have good facilites and small enough to feel involved. Captain Crumble and Tricky Ricky absolutely made our holiday, kids up on stage most nights for competions and always laughing! Good old fashioned family entertainment. Indoor pool has slide and mini rapids, just enough for our family and not too big. Short walk to beach, pretty steep dirttrack to walk down but all part of the fun. Site shop small but had everything you could need at very reasonable prices. Restaurant menu a little dated but fabulous carvery 3 times a week, very cheap and very nice!
Padstow very near, lovely harbour, speedboat ride £5 per person, great fun and well worth a trip. Jamie Oliver's restaurant 'Fifteen Cornwall' not far away in Watergate bay, beautiful beach and well worth a visit for breakfast. Newquay not far away but roads were very busy as was high season, took about 45 mins to do a 10 mile journey.

Just returned from a week here during high season.
I read all the feedback prior to booking and was really looking forward to this site, but I have to say I left feeling disappointed.
In my view the site, at capacity, was too cramped. Although main weeks of the summer, I visited Ayr down at St Ives a week later and the difference in space was huge - Harlyn was a 'car, caravan, car, caravan' set up
There were 2 washing up sinks for the whole site which is woefuly inadequate.
The 20p per shower thing just struck me as penny pinching, to the extent that the pool does not have showers, which for us meant a quick trot around the outside of all the buildings to the shower block in our cossies. Id rather have paid any extra pound per night so I didn’t feel that I was constantly paying small amounts for trivial things.
The 'take your paper before entering ' scenario in the loos contributes to this feeling, as is the lack of plugs in the sinks. The tumble driers seemed to be on their coldest setting too - with an hour and a half wait for a still damp return seeming to be the norm.
All in all, I found it a shame that my thoughts while staying at Harlyn were more about the gripes on the site rather than the beautiful location, so I wont be going back.

Just returned from a 2 week stay here. The campsite is in an excellent location, with easy walking access to Harlyn Bay, Mother Iveys Bay, Constantine Bay and Boobys Bay. These are all excellent beaches.
The playground is very good, although could do with being surrounded by some kind of fence as is very close to the main entrance.
The toilet facilities were OK, although having to collect your toilet paper in advance of entering the cublicle was a little strange, and not ideal if you didn't collect enough! We ended up taking our own toilet rolls in with us. The hand dryers are extremely harsh and nearly took your hand off. They also were incredibly loud and sound like a jet plane is about to take off. Not ideal if you are in a tent and situated close by!
There are no plugs in the wash basins, so trying to have a shave can be a bit of a mission! You may want to take your own bowl in with you!
The showers were reasonably clean, but could benefit from being updated. 20p lasts long enough for a quick shower, but at peak times the water was not very hot.
The pitches are a bit of a squeeze, but it does enable you to make lots of friends if you are feeling sociable.
The carvery on a Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday is excellent, and all the food in the restaurant was good value for money, as were the bar prices.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the on site shop stocked everything you would need and more!
This site is fine if you like meeting new people and participating in the entertainment etc, but not really appropriate for a quiet break.

This was our 2nd visit to this site, and we had an absolutely fantastic time. The very best thing about this site is the family atmosphere, and run for families.
We have a 5 and 3 yr old and the kids club is the best I have been to. Run by Captain Crumble and Tricky Ricky, they are both superb - our kids loved it and we ended up in the kids club with them every morning and every night. If you want a tenting holiday with a kids club connected then this is THE PLACE TO GO TO - we havent found anywhere else better.
To go alongside the above, its only a 5 minute walk to a lovely sandy beach, with other beaches in the area also a walk away.
Facilities on site all great - showers, washing up, swimming pool, shop, play area.
The only potential problem is pitch size within park (but we went with another family, shared two pitches and all fine). If you want a bigger pitch then I would recommend the beach field - more open spaces for kids to play etc.
Only minor problem we had was power cuts a couple of times - but to be fair to site they happened in high winds and rain during peak times, and the bloke with the fuses sorting it out did so pretty quickly, and at about 11pm at night.
We will definitely be returning, this will now be an annual holiday for us - my kids havent stopped going on about Captain Crumble and Tricky Ricky, and still a week after holiday they are quoting them and dancing to their songs!

So many nice things to say about this site :)
Fab location
Great entertainment
Great swimming pool
Well stocked little shop
Nice restaurant
Clean loos n showers (but an unusual arrangement with the collection of loo roll prior to entering the cubicle could be rather tricky if you in a hurry and forget)
Within walking distance of a safe and stunning beach :)
Lovely level pitches a little cramped but aslong as your with friends it doesn't matter :)
We deffo want to go back again :)

We stayed with UKCS rally for a week and WOW. Great site clean toilets and showers 20p for shower but neaded 40p for a decent one. The bar prices were quite reasonable and entertainers were first class. Tricky ricky and captain crumble. The children and adults enjoyed it all. Carvery was scrummy but DONT eat the fish and chips. Eww lol great kids park and pool with slides inflatables and vortex. The beach is also lush. And dogs allowed lots of great costal walks. Will deffinatly go again.Only downers were
The camping pitches were very close together. And didnt like the idea of taking the toilet roll in to the loo with you.

Just spent a week at Harlyn Sands had a wonderful time, started off on the Sunday with a nice Carvery which was good value for money.
My six year old grandson was with us although we never saw him because of the park and the childrens day time activities in the club room with Captain Crumble and Ricky who were brilliant with all the children.
When we got him back went swimming in the indoor fun pool he had a excellent time on the slide.
In the evening the Entertainment for children was FIRST CLASS, the adult entertainment was good at times.
Bar prices were very reasonably priced.
Toilets and shower block clean although it took a while to getting use to taking the toilet roll before you go in the cubicles 'difficult walking with trousers around ankles to get more'
All in All an excellent Campsite will be going back again!
