Small dog walk on site and another off site. But all lanes had no footpath so too dangerous to walk.
Didn't get time to visit Cotswold Wildlife, but dogs are allowed which I thought amazing. Also Blenheim Palace grounds.
Lechlade nice walks and pub ( dog friendly) Lots of pretty villages to visit, Burford has free parking, very steep hill.
Visited relations so will go again to see more of the surrounding area. Food shopping not a problem, lots of local supermarkets.
Showers/toilets etc. Very clean as expected at CC site.
Washing up facilities very clean also and a handy shelf to put your washing up crocks. Enclosed area which is good for coping with the unpredictable English weather.

Stayed 4 nights at Burford. We pitched alongside the dog walk which is a nice spot. I liked the feel of the site but not its size - too many people / pitches.
The lanes are good for dog walking, and the site is set in really lovely countryside. The playground was adequate with a good playing field. Concession tickets can be purchased at reception for Cotswold Wildlife Park which is opposite the site entrance.
Bourton on the Water is worth a visit but get there early as parking is a problem. RAF Brize Norton is nearby and the aircraft flew right over us, but we were not disturbed by the noise as they weren't jets.

It is one of the best caravan club sites I have been to. The facilities were great, plenty of showers and never needed to queue even though the site was full. The pitches were spacious and well laid out. My daughter loved being able to cycle round the one way system on her bike.
The play area was great and she made friends with the girls on site. The Wardens were friendly and helpful. You can order some items from a shop in burford by phone and they deliver by 9:15am in the morning.

We just got back from a 3 night w/e break at this site we were very impressed with the site in general, very quiet and well looked after. The toilet block has to be recommended for its cleanliness, no queues whatsoever. The groundsman did a great job keeping the grass tidy and the reception staff were helpful and friendly. As for negatives, we didn`t find any, it was a nice quiet peaceful site, this would obviously not be the case in the school holidays I would expect. We would most definitely go back again

This was our third visit over a period of five years and this time stayed slightly longer for a period of six days. We were amazed at how busy it was for the second week of September, and by the time we left on the Saturday, it was almost full. Some of the grass pitches had had to be closed off due presumably to heavy rains and long stays on previous weeks but appeared to be recovering nicely.
The site is extremely well run by the wardens, who are efficient and unobtrusive in their management. We had no problems at all with the shower facilities (use your sense with timing) or toilets, and loved all the lovely hot water which was constant. Everything was kept immaculately clean and tidy.
We do not enjoy the company of children and therefore avoid one end of the site where the play area is situated. However for families it must be useful to pitch near the area and have fun in what looks like a great area to play, and very safe too. The dog walk is small but useful for the morning and evening 'clear out'.
Outings included Stratford upon Avon, Moreton in Marsh market (not entirely convinced it is worth the effort), Bourton on Water (go to Lower Slaughter and have an ice cream at the Mill), Lechlade - walk along the river to Inglesham church - just amazing. If you want a fantastic meal go to the Plough Inn at Alvescott (directions from Mrs Warden)- we had lunch there and it was superb. For wonderful bread, cakes, or even having a sandwich made for you go to Huffkins bakery in Burford. The butchers across the road looked great too although we did not buy anything at the time, but will do in the future.

To Find Site:- From the main A40 on the outskirts of Burford turn left at roundabout onto A361 towards Lechlade. After about 2 miles turn right at signs for Cotswold Wildlife Park the site is on the right.
The site, which is set in 10 acres, is situated 2 miles south of Burford just off the A361 Lechlade road next to the Cotswold Wildlife Park. The wardens have created a nice floral display as you enter the site and an interesting touch is the free herb garden provided by a local garden centre. This site accepts non members but not tents. There are 119 pitches in total, 41 being on gravel hardstandings the rest being on grass. Reception sells newspapers and some essentials. The pitches are set round tarmac roads with screening from trees and shrubs. Electric points are placed conveniently around the site and the bollards have digital television connections. The one toilet block is up to the usual high standards associated with the Caravan Club. Adjacent is a motorhome service point. Apart from the provision of fresh water/grey water disposal and toilet emptying at the toilet block there are two other service points although this does leave some pitches quite a distance from the nearest point. There seemed to be some flexibility in leaving times if the site is not fully booked the following day. Children are well catered for with a large play area/games field to suit all ages. Some phone networks have poor signal strength on this site. The site has a small caravan storage facility. RAF Brize Norton is only a couple of miles away so some aircraft noise will be experienced although we did not find this intrusive.
This site is convenient for visits to Oxford, Witney or the rest of the Cotswolds. Burford is a couple of miles away and Lechlade is 6 miles south and of course you have easy access to the Wildlife Park (discounted tickets available from Reception). During weekends and Bank Holidays traffic for the Wildlife Park can back up to the A40 at Burford at certain times of day. For serious food shopping there is a Waitrose and Sainsburys in Witney.

Recently stayed here for a weekend break, we really loved the locality of the site, however I think that the caravan club ought to spend some money on a refurb of the toilet and shower facilities. We had to get up really early to get a shower as there was only 4 showers for male and females with a huge amount of caravans, so you had to queue up. Also the way that some people left the toilet area was a disgrace
Another problem was children screaming like banshees in the dog walk area and climbing the trees, I don't see why dog owners have to be penalised with lots of regulations when parents don't seem to control their children. It would be so nice for club members to start respecting caravan club parks and fellow users.

Well we have just got back from staying at our first CC site. We like the idea of choosing your own pitch ;)
Now to the site, I would say the only downside is the lack of showers, during the 1st weekend there was 4 people waiting for a shower(Only 4 cubicles). We thought due to the size of the site they could do with at least 6-8 of them, There are 8 privacy cubicles though??.
The site is well kept and clean, and the play area for the kids is large with a a good wooden play frame. Not suitable for under 5's though.
Would we go back?, yes we would.

We stayed here for 5 days, the site was spacious and quiet. It was not `policed` very much, we had a neighbour in a caravan who went round collecting wood off the trees and the floor, and lit a very smokey fire which filled our motorhome with smoke, good for my asthma! Dogs were not made to be on leads all the time around their own vans, which worked really well, none wandered about, no mess was left, all picked up, and it was handy to let them out first thing for a wee without going on the dog walk with them!
It was very central for all sorts of places to visit, just a lack of National Trust houses, nothing to do with the site. The Utility block was bright, clean quite spacious and fresh. All in all we had a very enjoyable time and will be returning.

Another great Caravan Club site! Wardens were really friendly and it almost goes without saying the toilet blocks were kept in the usual CC excellent standards. Play area was big with loads or space for football, plus a super set of children play equipment (swings etc). Our 10 year old twins thought they had been sent to heaven :-) If you have an animal loving family the nearest wildlife park (rhinos, big cats, reptiles, zebras, bug house, bats etc etc etc) is opposite and an easy walk to visit and you even get discounted tickets from the site shop! On CC web site you are warned that there is aircraft noise from RAF Brise Norton (prolly not spelt right but whatever lol) - Not a big noise problem but the odd big jet is a bit noisy (we were woken 1 night in our 7 night stay), but the up side is you get to see the RAF aircraft in all their glory - we spotted bi-planes, a chinook, a big 2 engined jet and an even bigger 4 engined jet plus numerous smaller aircraft during our stay. The location is great for visiting Burford, Oxford, Gloucester etc. Great roads mean easy access to local National Trust and English Heritage attractions - brill if you are a member of these institutions. The particular pitch we nabbed (79 from memory) was enormous and shaded by some trees, but with sunny areas too - a perfect mix! Lovely site, fantastic wardens, great location and the bonus of a day at the zoo without driving and some super aircraft to see made this site a real hit with us!
