All the negative comments remain, poor but clean facilities, shabby entrance, some road noise I suppose although you had to listen for it.
However, the pitches are great, plenty of room this time of year. The canoe rental was superb, a lovely, really quiet part of the Broads.
The best thing for me, the Bungay real ale trail. 8 Real Ale pubs, one with the brewary on the premises and a lovely brochure detailing the pubs and their history - all within an easy walk from the site.

We found this a pleasant campsite. The facilities are basic - there are two toilet blocks but I only used one of them - it had 3 toilets and a couple of showers - you had to pay 20p for the shower - and hold the button down to keep the water flowing (a hassle when trying to wash your hair). You also had to pay for hot water to wash dishes. The pitches were all level and plenty of space on the site mid-week in August. At the weekend as we left it was getting busier and I'm not sure how the toilet blocks would cope. The staff were lovely - very friendly, offering lots of advice on day-trips and places to eat, or just to ask you if you had a nice day. There was a freezer to put your ice-packs in (10p), and a shop with mainly camping bits in, also ice-creams and milk. Bike hire and canoe hire on site - meant there was plenty to do. It was quiet (apart from low level background noise from the road and nearby factory). Plenty of places to eat in town. We would go again.

My husband, brother, sister in law and I had a lovely break at this site, it is truly great. The couple and father that run the site make you feel so welcome and are so helpful and happy in their work. The site is in a very convenient spot 10 minutes from the town centre, where there are several pubs to eat in, The Fleece was very nice and very reasonably priced. The pitches are of a decent size and the site is well landscaped, it is also right next to the River Waveney and canoes and row boats can be hired on site for a very good rate. We had two trips out as we enjoyed it so much. The showers and toilets are clean with lots of hot water and the washing up and laundry facilities very good. We will be returning to this site.

September 2005 This site is in a lovely location, right next to the river. Reception has some very basic provisions such as camping gas and a few ice creams, but no food items. There is a fairly large CO-OP about 1 mile from site. We found the owner very friendly and helpful. The downside of this site is the toilets and showers, there are only 2 showers and 2 toilets for each sex, so be prepared to wait. Also 20p for a bowl of washing up water! Pitches are fairly close together.
(Tip if you use the washing up facilities, once you put in your 20p you can get water from both hot taps)

August 2004 Despite looking a little untidy on arrival the site is actually set in a very nice location with several fields. This is quite a large site but even in the middle of August was nowhere near full during the middle of the week (was busier at the weekend). The staff are really friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately there are a few downsides. Firstly the toilet blocks have seen better days and although are passable they could do with updating. There are also very few toilets considering the size of the site and at the weekend when it was busier (but not full) you had to queue a long time for the toilets. Similarly the number of showers (3) is appalling.
The other downside is the lighting at night or rather the lack of it. It is pitch black at night and given that one of the tracks from one of the fields to the toilet block runs along a deepish unfenced ditch this is not good news. Some dim lighting lining the tracks would have been a good idea I feel.
All in all this site has lots of potential - lovely setting and lovely/friendly staff, but it is let down by the toilets and lighting.

June 2004 Nice setting with river, but with location on roundabout and bypass you can always hear the traffic, entrance is off-putting with its caravan scrapyard, shame because the campsite is nice and the owners are friendly. Showers fair but 2 of them is not really enough for the size of site.

August 2004 On arrival initial impressions marred by untidy and scruffy area at site entrance. People friendly and helpful though and helped us choose pitch to suit our needs. (eg near river or showers etc). The traffic noise from the main road which runs along edge of site very apparent, so not a good site if you want complete peace and quiet. The river was very pretty and canoing available, although we didn't partake. A small shop, simple shower block and dishwashing facilities were all basic but generally clean. The owners were helpful throughout our stay at the site.

August 2004 Really friendly people, looks a bit scruffy as you arrive, but pitches nice & tidy and well kept. Showers and washrooms now starting to look tired, also not pleased about having to pay 10p for hot water to wash the pots ! - at £12 per night this should of been included. Site is next to bypass so can be quite a lot of traffic noise.

July 2004 Nice Site, well maintained and run by very friendly people. Especially liked the location - with the river running alongside the campsite (enjoyed the Kayak trip).
Toilet facilities are adequate - but it seemed a little strange to have to pay 10p for washing up (even though the showers and hot water in the tiolet block are free).
Most of the other campers in our field were older than us (we're a young family with 2 small children). We got the feeling that the children were seen as a nuisance by the other campers (but the owners certainly welcome children).
Would recommend the campsite to the adults only but not necessarily young families like ours.

July 2004 Large site with lots of room. Friendly staff and very helpful. Canoeing from the river at the bottom of the site is a must and not over priced. The only downfull is that you can hear the road from the first to fields but overall a good visit.
