June 2004 What a wonderful weekend!
Outney Meadow is very easy to find off the A143 into Bungay. I say that despite veering off from Northamptonshire via Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft - the joys of misoperating my satellite navigation!
A very friendly arrival was received, even well after hours, and we were directed to a lovely flat pitch in an enclosure well away from the kids (we didn't hear a peep from them all weekend, lovely!)
A simple shower and toilet block with laundry facilities to one side, and waste water, dustbins and chemical toilet disposal all tucked away nearby.
Plenty of fresh water points throughout the site.
Outney Meadow's strongest point by far is its location. Bungay is replete with fine pubs and even finer ales, and for weaning yourself off the hangover there's a plethora of outdoor pursuits including stacks of walks, and canoeing and biking - equipment for both of which is available to hire from the site.
A bus service from close by takes you to other Suffolk beauty spots such as the aforementioned Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth, and also the beautiful old seaside town of Southwold where we spent a glorious Saturday.
Totally recommended. £25 for two nights including hook-up for our motorhome, you really can't complain. Lovely!

May 2004 What a gem of a site. Visited from the Wednesday prior to the Bank Holiday weekend and almost had the site to ourselves. Site was full over the weekend, but very quite day and night. There were two groups of friends pitched either side of us and we didn't know they were there. Didn't have to wait to use the showers or toilets at all. The site is divided into several fields so even when full you feel like there's only a few people there. Kayak and Cycle hire from the site, if you hire a kayak don't make the mistake of going downstream from the site! We did and it leads to a weir. Would we visit again? We've already booked to go in three weeks time. Clean, tidy, friendly, well run, and peaceful sum up this site.
