We were right in the top field, which sloped somewhat, making ball games or keeping a level table a bit of a challenge!
Although it's alongside a country lane, there was a surprising number of tractors, wagons, cars & motorbikes travelling up or down it, creating a fair bit of noise on the other side of the hedge to our tent, but we got used to that.
The toilet block facilities were excellent, very clean, with a keypad access & then individual cubicles containing toilet, sink & shower, as well as a couple of extra sinks in the corridor, and a hairdryer in the ladies' which was free to use.
It is a steep slope down to the laundry room (near the static caravans) but this also had a table & chairs so you could sit & read in the warmth whilst waiting for the laundry to finish. Washer £2. 50, dryer £1. 50 (though on this occasion I didn't need to use the latter). There was also an iron available for hire & a drying room for wet boots etc.

This site is absolutely FIRST CLASS. The Wardens are pleasant, efficient, hardworking and clearly pride themselves in their work. From their approach and demeanour it was clear that these two are ideally suited to their employment.
The toilet block was exceptional, absolutely immaculate with great attention to detail applied by the aforementioned Wardens. Full flowered hanging baskets were displayed around the entrances and the well manicured lawns were a picture. Very reasonable priced and would have gladly paid more. This is how it should be !

For the two of us, this was the perfect camp site. It is immaculately kept, quiet, small (only 20 pitches) and surrounded by wonderful countryside.
The shower block is perfection - each shower also has a loo and a hand basin, with plenty of hooks and space. The level of cleanliness is outstanding. Plenty of hot water day and night.
The site managers were delightful - they were knowledgeable, charming and more than willing to help, yet stayed discrete and in the background. Even on their day off they were cleaning the shower block!
The site is on a slope, yet in some way each pitch was virtually level. We had no trouble at all.
We will definitely return to this very special place. One note of warning though - if you want a site where you can be noisy, have playgrounds for the children and generally be loud - this is definitely not the place for you. It is a quiet countryside site, and I keep my fingers crossed that it will remain that way.

What a great park, despite the camping field being on a slope we had a wonderful time.
The site managers were so helpful and friendly, showed us to our pitch then came around later to make sure we had settled in. They were available all day long and had invaluable local knowledge.
When we asked what time we needed to leave they were very relaxed and said as there were no more booked on Sunday we could stay as long as we liked.
There were levelling blocks available to put under cooking facilities and table etc, to make cooking and eating easier on a slope!
The toilet/shower block was kept spotless clean at all times, despite the rain it never looked dirty. The managers worked so hard they were visible at all times working hard to make our stay pleasurable.
The site had no playground for the children but they could run around freely and safely in the middle of the camping field, and when we walked around the park we found the orchard and the kids loved it there, there were rocks scattered around the centre which they could climb over.
The managers are currently making a herb garden and vegetable patch there. They have won a David Bellamy Conservation award, which is well deserved. The views from the campsite were amazing. The children thought it was great as they could hear all the farm animals noises close by.
Overall this was a lovley campsite which we definitely recommend and we will be returning.
Only downside no shop on site, but garage 5 mins away in car.

We stayed here at the end of May. The touring site is on quite a slope and it had been raining when we arrived, therefore it was a bit of a struggle getting up the hill but the owners were very kind helping out with a push when needed. They also supply levelling blocks which you'll probably need.
The site is in a lovely location, very peaceful and with good views of the surrounding countryside.
The facilities are the best I've seen, not just the washblock which is great but also the water points etc. Are lovely and also under cover which is useful in the sort of weather we had.
The only minor criticism would be that the recycling area is down at the bottom of the hill, so a bit of a trek to take your rubbish. They could do with some smaller bins maybe near the wash block.
Overall very good though and would definitely stay again.

We stayed one night at this campsite, the wardens were the most friendly we have met on our travels. The pitch we had was a on bit on the slope, which did make for interesting seating / cooking etc. And because it is high up on the hill suffers a bit from the wind.
It was very family friendly and the site was quiet from 9pm onwards. There is no nearby shops / pubs so make sure you have all your supplies before heading up the hill.
Once in the site it is definitely worthy of its 5 star rating. Everywhere is clean and well kept, the toilet block is excellent with each cubicle containing a toilet, washbasin and shower allowing for ease of changing etc. There are sufficient and I never needed to queue.

We searched campsites in the area for a while, settled on this one and phoned to book. We couldn't get through straight away but they rang back within a couple of minutes which was a positive to start with good service. Stayed mid week, so we had three nights for the price of two, but would have been happy paying the full price.
The field is on a slope which has been mentioned by other people reviewing the site but don't let this put you off. The pitches are set out around the edge and looking around the site they are all pretty much flat anyway. It just means that if you pitch up in the top corner you have to walk uphill to get back from the toilets which is really not an issue. We initially wanted a site next to the River Wye but the view really made up for not being near the water.
The toilet facilities are the best we've seen at a campsite! Really clean and the cubicles have a toilet shower and sink which is a real selling point. There are sinks outside, undercover for washing dishes and a freezer for ice packs.
Locally, the village of Clyro has a great pub - Baskerville Arms - it's friendly, good beer and great food, and within walking distance.
Next time we're in this part of the world we would definitely stay here again and would be happy to recommend it to anyone who wanted a quiet site with great views and facilities, and friendly staff.

Outstanding !, the approach is a bit tight as you leave the main A road just above Haye on Wye, however once you arrive you are greeted with a marvellously laid out static and seasonal site.
The touring field is sloping with hook ups around the edges, there are level pitches but should you need them a good supply of leveller planks is freely available. The views are wonderful and the staff extremely friendly.
The wash / toilet / showers are 5 star. This is a keeper and we will be back. Best of all the charges are extremely reasonable.

On arrival, we pitched our large family tent in the corner of the field where we were told to. 10 mins later the site's assistant told us there may be a problem, as we had taken up two pitches. He went away to ring the manager and promptly came back to us and told us it was not a problem and at no additional cost, music to our ears as you can imagine, especially as it was a bank holiday weekend.
The site is relatively small with 20 slightly sloping pitches. The facilities were spotless being brand new this year, Chris and Derek were very helpful, and keep the site A1, cleaning the facilities themselves.
Not a dog owner, but owners were strict in keeping Dogs on leads. Kids were not allowed to ride around the park on their bikes, but I think this is purely for their safety. Would recommend and return.

First time camping with 2 daughters and could not have asked for more. Had a very warm welcome and showed to our pitch. Pitch had a small incline but nothing unfavourable and pitched the tent with room to spare.
Washing facilities are superb with hot water at all times and no waiting. The local pub was welcoming and the food superb. While the area is a little remote with most attractions to amuse the girls a good car drive away this did not distract from the fact that this is a peaceful and relaxed corner of the world.
Definitely picked a good first site to pitch on and would return.
