Just back from a long weekend here this bank holiday August, great place and the facilities here are incredible.
We got here late and just pitched up and sorted out with them the next morning, so laid back and accommodating.
I have never stayed on a place with such a nice shower/toilet block and when you have women with you, it always seems to be the most important thing !
The pub is a short walk across the road and the food there is magic.
We did one walk from here and it was lovely especially when we headed off the main track and over a couple of fields and beyond.
Friends have all said when we come back this way we are definitely staying here again. Keep up the good work !

Visited last weekend and loved the new facilities, toilet block and free showers are the best we have seen, great access to the high peak trail via a gate at the bottom of the field and a nice three mile walk to parsley hay facilities and bike hire.
The site has flat pitches on the top section with electric hook up and is a great base for a quiet stay

This was our first visit to this site as all the regular sites we visit were booked up but this site had vacancies. When we arrived we were greeted at reception by a very nice friendly polite young man who showed us to our pitch and answered any question we had. The facilities were outstanding, very new modern, and clean.
In a great position for the Tissington trail and we found many public footpaths near by so we could explore the Derbyshire countryside.
We are planning our next weekend away so planning to stay here ( if there's available pitches)
Thanks pomeroy campsite you have a great site

Just had a great few days at this campsite. Was unsure after reading previous reviews but was perfect. New shower and toilet block is fantastic everything you could ask for. Me and my partner stayed on the camping field with two dogs and had no problems, lots of space and with there been a walk straight off the campsite was perfect for the dogs.
Would recommend this site to anyone looking for a nice relaxed site, perfect for visiting Goyt Valley and Buxton.
Only cost £14 per night which was great considering it was the first week off the school holidays and all the other sites nearby was wanting to charge me £18 +extra £4 a night off the dogs.
Will be visiting again

We last went to this site 5 years ago. We loved the location but never went back because of the facilities. Tried it again this weekend and wow! They have a brand new wash block and the whole site has been improved. Water tap to each pitch, two hard standing pitches and a fantastic wash block. Very quiet site.
There is a path straight to the Tissington trail from site for bikes and a gate and steps for walkers. Beautiful walks and scenery all around. Owners very friendly.
We will make this our regular weekend getaway from now on.

The site was very easy to find, as I arrived, there was a pleasant young man at reception that confirmed my booking. The tent pitching was on the second field, and was a pitch anywhere which was a bonus. I had took 2 dogs and did not have to pay for them. Quite a dog friendly site, and other dogs and family's. The site was also big enough for my dogs to have a bit of roaming space without disturbing any others. The pitch is also right next to the tissington trail, and the best bit is, there is a gate on the pitch which leads you on to the trail by steps, or a gradual slope on the opposing side if you don't want the steep walk. The surrounding area is very quiet, lots of fields, mainly for grazing. Also next to a quarry, which is a lovely view of limestone. No machinery that I could see or hear. I didn't make it to the local pub, but it is only half a third of a mile from the site. The only downside to the pitch and surrounding area, is that there isn't much shade, and these are mostly grazing fields. The new toilet / washroom facilities on site are very nice, clean and modern. The showers are also free, no fixed temperatures and plenty of room. All round great experience. Lots of lovely walks, and a cheap and pleasant site.

Had a lovely weekend at the Pomeroy Camping Park. Friendly, relaxed surroundings, beautifully-maintained site with good general facilities and simply the best showers and toilets you will ever find on a camp site.
Generous pitches and good layout. We will definitely visit again!
Highly recommended!

We have been to this site for three weekends this year now, the location is great as a base for being able to do lots of walks, it is next to the high peak trail and access to that has been improved for cyclists, with a lane now created along one of their fields, the site is quiet and the owner is very friendly, they have built new toilet/wash facilities now and they are superb.
We will be using this site for many more walking weekends.

If you are looking for a relaxing few days away, this is the site for you. Make sure you are packed up with essentials as there is no on site shop and the nearest one is a drive away. For us, that only added to the attraction. The tent field is spacious, (on a slight slope in places)and the views are terrific. It's a 'pitch yourself' field, which again pleased us. Walking and cycling is literally at the bottom of the field on the old railway line.
The toilet block is brand new and probably the best we have come across. Showers are hot, long and very spacious. There are benches to put bags etc. The toilets, for a change, have bags of room - no squeezing in and trying to close the door.
The young man in the farm house was very friendly and more than happy to chat about the area and the site etc.
Bakewelll and Buxton are a short drive away as are lots of other places.
All in all we would definitely recommend this site and we will definitely be returning time and again.
If there was one tiny thing to mention, one thing that would have made the visit complete (hence only 9/10, it would be that the grass in the tent field was just that little bit long and ready for cutting. BUT that didn't detract from our stay. We had a fantastic time there.

Well you may be familiar with the phrase you get what you pay for. Well, this site was very cheap.
On the good side (in the interests of fairness):
Very easy access, motorhome and caravan field was relatively flat, site was on the tissington trail (and the end. Or the start depending on your perspective), relatively close to buxton, quiet (if you like that sort of thing).
On the 'not so good': Well it had zero 'curb side appeal'. Doesn't look the most appealing of sites as you approach it. The shower / toilet block were pretty poor. I ventured in but the wife didn't dare.
So in a nutshell. It's do-able if you want something cheap and cheerful (but less of the cheerful). No frills. You get a field. And electric if you want.
