Just spent 2 nights at this site the pitch number was 6 and was nice and flat also sheltered by trees. We were fortunate with the weather very sunny and a cool breeze but at night strong winds and cold nights. Just what you would expect at this location but the trees did shelter us. There was plenty of room for our Montana 12 plus awning and wind breaker grass kept nice and short.
There was no shop on site but a short drive to Buxton for provisions was not a problem nice and quiet on site you can however hear traffic from the A515 but soon get used to it nice to see the planes dipping into Manchester not to much noise there either and the occasional Mooooo from the cows in the next field
The Duke of York pub about 150yds down the road served up some nice meals at an average of about £6.50. A nice place with plenty of ghosts and character. I suppose the only thing we could make a gripe about was the toilet and shower block 2 toilets 2 showers - there was never a queue but a complete makeover and clean would boost this sites ratings a lot for us. Washing up could be achieved outside in a little shelter and the water was nice and hot after about 4 mins of running the tap. All in all a nice time was had by all a popular little site.
