Having visited in the 80's and 90's, it was good to finds that this year the site has retained it's friendly and peaceful atmosphere.
As previously, all the staff were friendly and helpful, the facilities clean and the shop adequately stocked, and a simple but good take away food menu available in the evening.
Arriving late on our first night due to a delayed ferry, we were put up in a pre-erected tent for the first night to save us putting up our own tent in the dark - very welcome!
Local restaurants are available nearby in Rozel bay - a short but steep walk down to a pretty harbour and small beach.
A site well worth a visit - we shall certainly be back.

This is a pleasant site, probably one of the better ones on Jersey. It was busy when we stayed in the main summer holidays but there were no problems with noise. Visitors are a mix of nationalities. There is a fairly small (very cold) pool and a paddling pool, a games room with arcade type machines and table tennis and a TV room we never saw anyone use. Some pitches are better than others. A number of the pitches in the field have a very steep slope to one side and I would be worried about pitching there with young children. This site is more suited to camping than caravanning. There are no hard standings (although it is well drained) and there is nowhere to empty grey waste. We were advised by other caravaners to empty in on the grass behind the van! The owners are very pleasant and they meet motor homes and caravans at the port which is really handy to get your bearings and when towing on the extremely narrow roads of Jersey. Longer vans are not accepted on the fast ferry and it is a long crossing on the other ferry which calls at Guernesy on the way. The boat is quite small and there is not much to do there is a tiny shop open for just an hour or so, a cafe a bar and a small TV area for children and that is about it. Take something to entertain the children and a good book.

We have just returned form a fantastic 9 days holiday at Rozel. Jersey is beautiful and this campsite is in a wonderful location. We were in the upper field overlooking the sea. Pitches are a good size and well spaced so you don't feel crammed in. The facilities are fine, always clean and never had to wait for a shower, although the site wasn't full when we were there. The showers are hot and plenty of room to change. The pool was rather cold but there were plenty of hardy children braving the cold! There are laundry facilities, a small games room and a shop on site. Fresh baguettes, croissants and chocopain available everyday from 8.00. The owners are very helpful and even arranged for us to stay some extra nights by changing a ferry for us. Overall a great place for adults and children with lots to do on the island, will be going back!

We visited Rozel in July this year and, from booking to leaving for home, the Germain family were the perfect hosts. They took care of all ferry bookings, informed Condor Ferries that we were travelling with our five-month old Westie pup and then met us at the jetty to escort us to their wonderful site.
Rozel is beautifully situated with stunning views of the French coast. Because Jersey is such a small island, the site is ideally placed for exploring. The site boasts clean shower and toilet facilities, with ample hot water, and the site shop is stocked with all those goodies you may have forgotten to buy in town.
Nothing is too much trouble for the Germain family (they even 'loaned' me a gas bottle when I ran out. We have discovered a true pearl and will definitely return.

Just returned from short stay at Rozel - it was absolutely lovely. After re-reading last comment (Aug 2008) happy to report nothing has changed. High standards.
The owner was so helpful, we arrived with 2 bikes in boxes and rucksacks, and were helped to our pitch by owner with tractor and trailer. Boxes safely stored away for our stay and taxi ordered for our return trip back to airport.
Site was very clean and although we didn't use the TV room, games room or putting course, the children visiting certainly seemed to be having fun there.
Lovely big laundry room with ironing boards and hairdryers (what a pleasure!) and plenty of lovely hot water in the showers.
We really enjoyed our stay - excellent spot on the island for a base - quiet, tranquil and beautiful. We cycled nearly all of Jersey in 4 days, lots of super pubs and restaurants. The Rozel Inn down the hill is a must for a meal and few drinks (don't forget your torch for the way back!)
Thanks to staff for their helpfulness and willingness to please.
We will definitely be back.

We were not happy with our pitch - there was nothing wrong with it technically, however, you know when you get to a pitch and your heart sinks - you just know it's not right - it was claustrophoic and not private enough. In addition, somebody had pitched the tent next door with it facing straight at ours.
We took stock, parked up and had a look around the site. There were far nicer pitches - at least three in the immediate vicinity.
So I walked to reception and politely asked the owner 'sorry to be a pain, I know there's nothing wrong with our pitch but I've seen several nicer ones, any chance of.'. Reply 'no chance sorry, no, there's no way, I just can't, I've spent three hours planning this.' points to A3 pad.
So we pitched up and we were right it wasn't right for us. What really annoyed me was that two of the three better pitches we quickly identified as more suitable stayed free for the next week.
That said the site is well run and in a beautiful location. The family were very friendly (if inflexible). The views are stunning but only about 10 of the pitches actually get to see them, the rest just see other peoples tents.
Showers and facilities excellent.
Would I return? Only in low season. Site is too claustrophobic in high season - pitch density too high - it's rather like a Camping and Caravaning Club Site where no blade of grass is left unused.

From incredibly friendly owners to incredibly beautiful views across the sea to France this is an outstanding site on an outstandingly beautiful island. Getting to Jersey is sadly not cheap on Condor Ferries (The only ferry company that travels from the UK to the Channel Islands) that said once you are there you really are in the UK’s very own island paradise. Care needs to be taken in negotiating the narrow roads that lead the four or so miles from the ferry to the site. Once there there are a variety of pitches from private enclosed by hedges to the more open. The main field slightly slopes down towards the sea and this allows most to have a beautiful view of France and the nearer Ecchrious Islands on a clear day. The toilet/shower blocks are very clean and modern and a pleasure to use. The owners are most friendly and incredibly helpful even reserving pitches if requested. The site has a large outdoor solar heated swimming pool a newly refurbished children’s play area and a free crazy golf course. There is also an indoor games room and a TV room. The shop is small but well stocked and a take away meal service is available on site. There is a beach very suitable for rock pooling just ten minutes walk away and a couple of excellent restaurants in nearby Rozel Bay. Everything in Jersey is close at hand and at the most no more that twenty minutes drive away. From the site excellent cliff and costal walks are available for the more energetic and Mount Orgeuil in Gorey village with all its fascinating history is only five minutes drive away. All in all Rozel site is a beautiful location on a beautiful island.

I don't believe that this site truly sells itself for the great place it is. It lies amongst some of the most beautiful countryside / coastline in the British Isles. The site (as the other reviews state) is probably one of the cleanest you'll come across. We hired a 6 man tent, fully inclusive of all equipment with electricity included. The showers / toilets are cleaned numerous times a day it would seem. A second block exists on site when the other block is being cleaned. Although busy, the pitches were well spaced and adequately catered for with water / electricity points. The all inclusive tents are value for money and are stocked with a full size fridge, small twin burner / grill, Kettle, cutlery, bedding, crockery, clothes drier, etc. The only thing I would say should be included would be a toaster as the grill was awkward to toast more than 2 slices. All was spotlessly clean with fresh bedding and comfortable beds. The living space in the tents is more than adequate for comfort. The family who run this site couldn't be more helpful if they tried, nothing is too much trouble. Their staff are also very amiable and you feel that you could ask anything. The onsite shop, although not bulging with merchandise has all the necessities that you could want daily. Pot washing area and laundry room also were kept in check and always were clean and fresh. The games room / tv room were a pleasant surprise and provided some occasional entertainment other than the great walks that are around this coastline. Everyone we met on site was happy with the facilities and praised the site. Although I haven't been camping for many years, this trip has reignited my interest for another visit because it has been such a pleasant one.

Excellent campsite, especially for families. Toilet block kept clean and tidy with plenty of hot water throughout the day. Handy little shop with ice pack service. Adequate laundry facilities which are coin operated and also where the sockets are housed with large mirrors for doing your hair! Shop open from 8am - 11am and again from 4.30pm - 7pm although if you need to speak to the owner you can call at the bungalow! The owners are very helpful and accommodating. My 7 and 5 year old loved the play area and we felt it was a safe campsite where they could roam around freely. Lovely pool although could be cold which was a shame. Would have been nice to be heated rather than solar reliant. Rozel harbour was within walking distance (hill back up to campsite but children managed it fine). Rozel restaurant/pub provides excellent food at a reasonable price! Touring the island from here was easy with all beaches worth a visit! We will definitely return!

We visited this site at the beginning of July during a very windy spell. The owners were very welcoming and allowed us to choose our own tent pitch. The site was fairly quiet so not sure if this is the case if it gets busy. The site is divided into several fields and divided by 5 foot hedges. The pitch sizes are very large and the ground flat. We were shown where to pitch for the best sunshine.
The site has a small shop which is adequately stocked with provisions and the owners take orders for bread and newspapers for the following day if needed. As the site was busy the shop didn't actually open but if you rang the doorbell someone would come and serve you. They run an icepack service too for 30/35p per block.
There is a TV room with basic seats and a sitting room with sofa and table and also a games room with some fruit machines, table tennis, pool table etc.
The toilet/shower facilities were always spotless and seemed to be cleaned endlessly. The hot water is free and the showers are very warm and very fast flowing. There is a laundrey room with washing machines and tumble driers (token needed). There are also free iron and ironing boards and lots of plugs for your own hair drier, hair straighteners etc.
The nearest pub (The Rozel), down near the harbour is very quaint and serves lovely meals. Its about a 15min walk downhill to it but rather a steep climb back to the site.Especially after a few beers.
Overall a good site in a nice location.Good for walking and cycling (rather hilly in places) and we would definitely return.
