This is not a bad site overall. Split between statics, seasonal pitches and the rest of us. The main toilet block is clean and lots of hot water, just needs updating. Could do with some more lighting inside however as the kids were not too impressed by the shadows.
Location is good and there are some pitches that would have a great view of Bamburgh Castle, all be it over the top of all the statics. Bamburgh is only a mile away and bude bay a mile in the other direction.
Now it is my opinion that this site wil not suit all tastes. Pitches are close together and there seems to be very few occasional pitches. Most seemed to be seasonal and used by groups of families that know each other well. Friendly enough but your kids may take some time to acclimatise to the groups of kids that clearly know each other well, and wander the site most of the day.
However if you want to make friends then I'm sure you would be welcomed. I would also note that given all the kids they were well behaved on the whole and were not allowed to carry on into the night and by about 9. 30pm all was quiet.
Facilities - small play area for the little ones next to the toilet block and a small football pitch. Shop only open for 2hrs a day and didn't seem to stock much other than ice creams and sweets.

We were very pleased with our visit, a very well kept site, great play areas for the kids, generous pitches short drive to Bamborough & Budle Bay: fantastic beaches, only minor issues: found the shower small when trying to shower the kids, shop had limited stock but there are shops/bank and petrol station a short drive to Seahouses, another great place to visit. Would definitely recommend this site and visit again.

The site is close to Bamburgh and holy island, and within driving distance of the Cheviot hills. Fairly tidy site. However, there were a few things that took the edge off my stay here.
1. The pitches are arranged in long rows, making people constantly cross your pitch with waste water / chemical waste heading for the disposal point as there is no short route avoiding pitches.
2. The pitches are quite crowded and not quite big enough.
3. The toilet / shower blocks are austere and in need of updating. They're also dark and dingy and not especially clean.
4. Bins / recycling points seemed to be over-full.
5. There is a shop, but its opening hours are fairly limited and inconvenient - only one hour per day at the weekends!
For the price that is charged here, I'd expect a better pitch and more modern facilities.

It has always been a great site and has been taken over as you may know. All the drainage has been improved since last year. The grass was so much better. It may be a case of `watch this space` and the toilets and showers may be improved as the next thing. They were clean and plentiful but definitely very old and do not fit in with the rest of the site. The 2 parks are very good for young and old kids and bikes are popular on site too. There is also a games field so I hope this new ownership doesn't mean these will disappear to make way for clubs or more statics. Location great for Bamburgh sand dunes, castle etc, Seahouses harbour, amusements and the Aladdins cave shop there! (Farne Gift Shop) It sells great art stuff, has a £1 section as well as toys and souvenirs.

Really Excellent Site. Facilities are good- a handy dog walk/nature trail with plenty of bins, space for the kids to play, clean and plentiful loos and showers with lots of hot water. The site shop is limited but covers the basics, the owners are friendly and helpful. The location is wonderful- a short cycle into Bamburgh and beyond. A great place for a relaxing break.

I stayed here for a couple of nights. I found the toilet facilities and showers adequate, although I would have expected a bit more luxury for the price charged, having said that the pitches were level and of reasonable size and the electric hookups were close by. The ladies and the gent who run the site were helpful enough and were willing to give advice on the surrounding area. It is good cycling country in this part of Northumbria, fairly level and with some splendid sea and countryside views. The nearest supermarket seems to be in Seahouses, it's well worth a visit there just to see the pretty little harbour and of course Bamburgh Castle is only about a mile away from the site and the nearby beaches are a paradise for children. But if you go there take a windbreak!

We had mixed feelings about this site. First, the good. This is a lovely, well-kept site in a lovely location, a fantastic part of north Northumberland just a mile or 2 from the beautiful beaches and castle of Bamburgh. Its a very family-friendly park with two excellent children's playgrounds, one for the younger kids (my 1 and 5 year olds had a ball), and one for the older ones, with zip-slide and so on. Plus, there's a nice little football pitch and a small woodland walk. All fantastic it has to be said.
Now the bits we didn't find so good. This site does not accept tents, which has, it seems, led to a rather unique dynamic on the park. Aside of the large static caravan area, there is a huge collection of what I presume are seasonal-pitched caravans. Which is fine, but we started to feel a little like we were gatecrashing someone's party. Clearly there's a lot of regulars who drive the 1 hour trip up from Tyneside to their vans, and our pitch seemed to be right in the middle of them all. To be fair everyone seemed pleasant enough if they were forced to talk to you, but we just felt that the site lacked the 'make new friends' friendly feel that most sites we go to (frequented by all types of unit) have.
And as others have noted, the loos and showers are really in need of updating - dark, dingy, though to be fair, reasonably clean.
In summary, despite the comments above, this is actually a nice site and it's in a beautiful area with some of the best beaches and sand dunes you'll find in England. But be aware that - if you get put where we did - you could be surrounded by regulars that may not lead to the friendly campsite feeling you're used to.

We stayed here spring bank holiday, lovely clean site about a mile out of bambough. Toilets and shower area clean if somewhat dated. Site was very quiet at night despite the site being full. Staff very pleasent and helpful. The Northumbrian coastline is stunning and Alnwick castle is well worth a visit kids would love it. All in all a very enjoyable weekend, we will be back soon

What a great site we managed to stumble upon! Visited August Bank Holiday weekend and paid just £20 a night for caravan and awning, car , 2 kids and a dog, what a bargain! The site is well laid and out and well kept we had a wonderful pitch. The site was loveley and quiet and well run. Kids really enjoyed the play area and there is also a football field where the wardens held a sports day and football tournament on Bank Holiday Monday which was brilliant as our schools sports day was rained off so the little ones took part, all in all it was a really fun day! There is also a 2nd smaller play area behind the reception for younger children and plenty of games availble to hire at the reception too. Noise was not a problem either was pretty quiet in the evenings. No traffic noise either as it is away from the main roads. Toilets and shower blocks are a little dated but water hot and plentiful and very clean, and if it ain't broke then why fix it, I think it adds to the charm of the site! Shop onsite small but ok for milk bread papers etc but for anything more there is a co-op in Seahouses. Bamburgh is wonderful. Impressive views of the castle from site and just a short cycle ride to the village. The beaches are soft silky sand and to say it was bank holiday the beaches were not overcrowded. I would advise you to take a windbreak though as it can be a bit breezy. All in all we had a wonderful holiday here, staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we decided to stay an extra night too.

We have been a few times as there is a lot going for this site. There are two great parks. One geared for younger children and a huge one with zipper slide and basketball nets. There is also a playing field at another end of the site and a wee woodland walk. We found it family friendly and safe. Bamburgh beaches are another reason we go back.White sands and dunes. Also Seahouses is nearby also- the place for amusements, harbour, boat trips etc although as soon as I set foot in the place I want Chips and Ice-cream! (Its the sea air!) Great site. A bit more expensive than other places we have been and the shower block perhaps should be getting upgraded soon to reflect this (again, comparing to other places we have been ) but then the parks and play areas are more important to us. As long as toilets, showers are clean and there is hot water then thats fine. We enjoyed our stay.
