Mrs W and I spent 4 nights at this site at Easter. The staff were very helpful and guided us to our pitch and even helped us unhitch. The facilities were all good and clean. Unfortunately, it being early in the year (March), the weather was dreadful most of the time with rain and mist. Even so, we enjoyed market day in Berwick on Tweed, saw the seals and seabirds on a trip out to the Farne Islands and spent time at Bamburgh (great Castle), Alnwick (another great Castle and Seahouses. We nearly got to Lindisfarne Island but the tide was in ! It was cold and wet, but we still enjoyed our stay.
I bet it's excellent here in good weather and we may try it again next Summer. My only little gripe with the site was the grey waste water disposal point. There was only one by the toilet block and you had to lift the full and very heavy wastemaster up to waist height and balance it on a wall to empty it - did my hernia no good at all !

This is a lovely site, and the view of Bamburgh Castle is spectacular!! Well worth the money. The facilities could do wtih some updating, and I did think £16 was quite expensive for what was offered, but the on-site shop does a mean bacon/sausage sarnie so that almost made up for it. Will be returning!

July 2004 A very friendly camp site, the toilets & showers are clean. We went there and booked very late, they were most welcoming and were very helpful. There is a farm shop on site which stocks most basic things with gifts as well, prices are not too bad and it is an off licence! There is a football field and 2 parks which are great for younger kids. We stayed for a week there and it was one of our best camping holidays, the view out of our tent was Bamburgh castle. Worth a visit and it is cheap to stay. What more can you want!

July 2004 Went to this site with my family and another family, we each had 2 kids in tow. This is a lovely, small, friendly site. All staff were very helpful. You can order papers and bread for the following day, they also do a lovely bacon and sausage sandwich (which was very welcome when it rained!) as well as the usual staples plus some local produce. There is a good play area for the over 5s at the far end of the tent bit and a small one for under 5s near the loo block. Provided you don't leave a burnt patch on the grass BBQs are OK too. The shower and toilet block was very clean. My only quibble would be the poor lighting in the shower/toilet block. Would definitely recommend this site.
