I have stayed at Elford several times over the last few years and find its charm wonderful, as are the owners. The facilities are ideal and leave you wanting for nothing. It is also very reasonably priced (one of the best in the area) and price includes everything, including electricity - genuinely no hidden charges!
I must say I was slightly surprised by some of the criticism of the facilities as they are much better than many sites I have stayed at. It must be remembered that the site is based on a working farm, which adds the charm I mention above. On each of my stays the facilities have been cleaned to a high standard, on a daily basis (and whilst the heaters are not on all the time guests can control them with a switch).
I have already booked to return in the Autumn.

Have to say we weren't very struck on the site. It made us think of the 'old days' farmers field idea. The toilet and shower facilities were only top cleaned. The glass shelves over the wash basins were not cleaned every day nor were the mirrors. Bins weren't emptied for the whole of our stay. The ceiling has black mould everywhere, its a shame because they are nice facilities overall. There are no hooks near the sink area which makes it awkward. The water was hot in both the sinks and the showers, there are two of each. The area was a build on to the front of the barn and very cold although there was a heater in the room it was always switched off when the owners visited the room, my husband says the gents were the same. The washing up and laundry area are in a part of a large barn, the barn floor is disgustingly dirty, also there were some holes in the floor near the washing area which are dangerous I caught my toe in one and twisted my foot. While we were there it didn't even see a brush and there was off furniture and caravans parked in the barn which didn't look or feel right. There are electric points around the field but they are not well organised, they are spasmodic.
We stayed on this site for several nights in October, unfortunately we had very wet weather and the ground on the site churned up and became like a quaqmire. Obviously the site can't be held responsible for the weather but some hard standing pitches would be very advantageous to the site. What would also help would be to put stone/hardcore on the road way around the field. It was quite expensive for what it was.

Very good site well maintained facilities good always clean. Kids loved it as there was plenty room for them to roam or play on their bikes. Easy access and not far from Seahouses Bamburgh, Alnwick A good place for a base to visit the Nothumbrian coast. Very popular whilst there but unbooked arrivals were accommodated with a smile. Attentive owners came around each morning making a point of stopping and talking with guests

I used this site with two boys aged 6 and 10. It was busy with motor homes and we were the only tent but we had lots of room. The field is flat and well kept, the toilets and showers clean and the site overall was quiet and friendly. It is an excellent location for Viking local areas such as holy island, bamburgh and sea houses.

This site is a couple of miles inland from the spectacular Banburgh castle and bay, down some little winding back roads. There are no hard standings but a plentiful supply of hook-ups and excellent clean and free facilities. The nearest village of Seahouses has a supermarket and several pubs, some overlooking the working harbour, but it is a rather long ~ 5ml round trip to walk there. The owner is very pleasant and helpful and the site fees are very reasonable. Before the school holidays the site was peaceful and quiet and this site is to be recommended as a good base for looking round what is a surprisingly beautiful and undiscovered part of England

We have just returned from a very last minute 5 day holiday at Elford Farm Caravan Park. My wish list for the perfect break away is a very quiet and well maintained and laid back site with spotless facilities and no rain. Well. All my wishes were granted with the exception of a little rain. This site has no road noise and all fellow caravaners were very quiet. The facilities were spotless each time we used them and modern. The hosts were very friendly and accomodating. Most of the field is quite uneven but nothing that a ramp and chocks won't sort out. The site is a very short drive from Seahouses, which has everything you need and a little further up the road is Bamburgh with its stunning castle. We would definitely visit this site again. A perfect base to tour Northumberland and A bit of Scotland.

Just returned from a long BH weekend at Elford Site. What a little Gem :) When we arrived there appeared to be nobody about so we pitched where we wanted, but the owner quickly found us and was very relaxed and accommodating. He was even happy for us to leave the van where it was, so we could go out and make the most of our last day. Lovely clean toilets and facilities and safe for children to play in. The wifi was unpredictable and it was a bit uneven but, this is part of a working farm. It is a basic site and I think the fees reflect this. Will most definitely be going again.

We have had a great week on a lovely site which is easy to get to from the A1, has great pitches and spotless toilets and shower rooms. The people in charge of the site are excellent and are always asking is there anything we can get or do for you. We will be coming back at some point soon as there are many beautiful places yet to see in Northumberland.
Many thanks again

We visited in July upon arrival we were shown the site which is to the side of the bungalow where we checked in. The site is very uneven with very few level pitches, we were fortunate to get one that was'nt too bad. We had plenty of room between caravans and we also had an awning. The electric hook up point was just behind the caravan which was great and we had no problems with it tripping off. Free Wi-Fi is available if you can get connected, unfortunately we never did. The toilet block was very clean at all times with 2 showers, 2 sinks and 3 toilets. The washing up area and laundry area are at the back of the toilet block, with new washing machines and tumble dryers which are on meters but not badly priced. Waste disposal and drinking water just in front. The grass was also cut short when we arrived and was cut again whilst we were there. The site was very quiet, but we did go when the children were still in school.
The site is an ideal base for visiting many interesting places such as Berwick on Tweed, Banburgh Castle and just a few minutes drive to Seahouses which has a well stocked Co-op. There is also a petrol station. There are also fantastic beaches all within a few minutes of driving from the site all very dog friendly which was great for us as we have a small puppy.
Our only criticism is the uneven pitches.

Just had 5 nights at this site. The site has a lot of regulars which the owner stores there caravans and tows them onto pitches for the weekends. On arriving I had to drive around to find a level pitch as the regular caravans had taken up most of them. The site was quite full over the weekend with families and I was expecting a fair bit of noise but not so, kids were well behaved and it went quiet in the evenings. As others have said toilet blocks were new with very spacious showers and very clean. Through the week the site is very peaceful being away from any major roads and nice walks around quiet lanes. The site is central for touring up and down the coast walk out the drive and across the road and you have a great view of Bamburgh Castle, less than a couple of miles and you have Seahouses with 5 fish restaurants and other restaurants as well as a good selection of pubs. A must is a boat trip out to the Farne Islands the birds are amazing.
On the downside is the grass it was about 3 inches long after it had been cut and no grass box, there were clumps of it all over and it got everywhere after wheeling the water butt over it I could not see the butt. The grass did get cut short the day before we left as the owner was going away and it was a lot better (if it was kept short there would be less of a problem). Would I go back there again ? probably.
