The owner and his team are extremely helpful and friendly, and made us feel very welcome. Fairly level site, with only a slight slope. Only negatives are the facilities being a bit basic, and in need of a good spring clean, but they do the job adequately, and we had a great few days on the site - weather not fantastic, but it was Northumberland in early May, so exactly what we expected. One lousy bit was getting up on last morning and preparing to leave - dog muck in front of van! Disgusted us both, and unfortunately, because of this, we will not visit again.

Just visited this site and there are good and bad points in my opinion.
Firstly the good,
Ground good to peg out, Lovely area and views from tent field are lovely.
Quiet site, with a lower field for tents, touring caravans, and motor homes, Upper field with toilet area, mainly for some statics.
Helpful owners. And low prices. And pitch where you want
With plenty or room.
Now the bad points. Web site is misleading, says reception and new facilities such as pot room. Well there isn't a reception as such, you visit a caravan next to toilets, and a gentleman visits tent for payment usually first evening. ( No problem, just misleading)
The pot wash area, consists of one sink unit inside and one outside, which as it rained when we visited, people had to brush water and mud away to stand and wash dishes. Not over clean either.
There are 2 new wetrooms, but sadly you step into them straight from outside so floor very often dirty. Toilet/ shower area needs spring clean.
There isn't a shop for essentials, and its quite a distance from one.
We pitched at bottom of tent field and with the bad weather all the surface water came down and we were walking in mud all weekend, pity ! Apparently when I was talking to some regulars, they said their friend's tent had been flooded out recently and they went home. Just be aware of that area, although its flat there.
Would I return, maybe, if weather was good and toilets and pot wash had good springclean.

We enjoyed our stay here on a Monday in September 2013. The grass was well drained, level, short cut and easy to peg into - perfect. The camping area was tidy, large and welcoming. The view was very good considering the low rolling hill type of terrain, with only a few buildings in sight, and about 180 degrees of long distance views. Very rural, but uninteresting if you like hills.
As we were just about the only people in the field, and the campsite is about a quarter of a mile from the nearest road, we enjoyed very little noise except from farm vehicles.
Washing pot, toileting and showering facilities were to a high standard of cleanliness and comfort, with hot water in all. The showers are included in the price, which was welcome. But they are of the press button type, so you need to keep pressing the button to keep water coming. The water was at a great temperature for our cold evening, but my shower could have been improved upon by having a higher flow rate.
We were pleased to see there was no barrier to get onto the site, nor lighting to interrupt our enjoyment of the night sky.
Note that this site is actually about a mile and a quarter away from the Hadrians Way long distance walk.

Just returned from a lovely peaceful break at this site. The toilets are slightly dated but certainly do the job. Showers were very hot one day but tepid the next. No issues with chemical waste disposal. No playground or shop but kids loved the open space and made friends very quickly. About 15 minutes into Hexham for supermarket or about 5 minutes into Corbridge for local Co-op. We paid £72 for three nights inc hook up over a Bank Holiday weekend. Owner didn't mind what time we left on the Monday so left about 4pm! Site is about 1hr from us and we'd certainly visit again.

We have just came back from a great weekend on this site. Owners were very helpful, showed us where to pitch (on the lower field)and I was quite suprised on how big the site was. It was very busy with lots of families there. This site is very family orientated. There is nothing on the site, you are stuck in the middle of nowhere but the peace and tranquillity is bliss. We had a 5 minute drive into Corbridge which is a lovely little village. Unfortunately on the Saturday night, 11pm there were a group of adults who had too much to drink, blasted their music and their language was disgusting as they went into a full scale argument which lasted approx 1. 5 hours. We were at the other end of the field and we felt really sorry for the campers near this argument as this is where the majority of children were. I assume the owners, or I hope they did, asked them to leave the site as there were a few cars leaving and the next morning it was very quiet at that end. I would not class this as a negative point though, it was not anyone's fault other than the adults who were making the commotion. The only negative thing I have to comment on were the showers. The showers in the women's toilets did not work, whether or not this was for a short while I do not know. I went to a shower which was situated on the side of the building and this was just a trickle, I did manage to make do with this though. Overall I loved this campsite and would definitely go back.

Found this site on hear looking for last minute bank holiday deal the reviews where not to bad. Pleased read reviews first or would not have knowing just to pitch up plenty of places to choose from.
Was very pleased with this site toilets and showers are kept clean and the showers where hot no matter what time of day you went. The lady helping the farmer is really nice when she comes for your payment and can help you with local information. You can buy farm fresh eggs from the farm house mmm nice.
They have permanent caravans and the people who have these were really nice, got speaking to a few when walking around site and they don't mind helping you with things. If you want a no frills site and peace and quiet this site is great will be going back before the end of September.

Wellhouse Farm has been our '1st camp of the Year' choice for the last few years along with a number of our friends and their children.
We have always found the owners friendly and helpful and happy to accommodate our large group of up to 5 families.
The camping field is huge and always has a fantastic atmosphere among the campers.
This is not a 'luxury' site with fancy smelling soaps and an overpriced farm shop but is clean, friendly and relaxed with great surroundings.

We have just spent a few days here and felt that this site has loads of potential which is not being acted on. On arrival, there was no-one around to advise where weshould park so it is a case of finding a pitch for ourself, It turns out that the owner comes round later in the day for the money. Some signage would help new arrivals.
The toilet block is quite basic but adequate.
There is a small recycling area but when we were there it looked more like a skip at the side of an old shed - not very nice on the eye.
As said before, has potential to be a lovely site, but until then we won't return.

Our family of 4 booked and pitched our tent in the lower field for our third visit. To the family run working farm. We paid the farmers son who told us since or last visit the local pub had been refurbished.
That was the only contact with the owners we had. Thats the way we like it left alone camping. After our lovely walk to most enjoyable country pub in Newton.
Looking over the stunning tyne vally and our campsite, and after our very quiet country nights sleep, a short stroll over with my children to the more than adequate clean toilet block and hot showers, refreshed to visit the nearby historic corbridge with late night shop restaurants and two or three takeaways if we needed them.
To sum up its a camp site on a farm in a field to pitch a tent. With amenities is perfect for our family.

It was easy to find the site from the directions on here. We liked the relaxed atmosphere although we couldn't find anyone to speak to initially (should have read more than the first few reviews).
Overall it was a good site to try out our new tent although we had to pitch in the middle of the camping field because all the sides were taken up with returning regulars.
The facilities we found to be quite satisfactory and although we stayed for one night only. It was quite busy on May Bank Saturday and became quieter on the Sunday as people left for home.
A good farm location and within easy reach of Corbridge and more.
