I spent 4 nights here in a large spacious field surrounded by the Farmers Wheat & Cornfields. Not many facilities other than the toilet shower blocks which were reasonably clean and the showers were the press in type with fixed hose. There was a washing machine, iron and ironing board in a room next to the Toilets. There is an reception which is open to all and it has an electric point so that you can charge your mobile if necessary. There is also a telly that doesn't work due to no ariel.
We only saw the Farmer & wife & sons when they came around the Tent field, to collect payment on their Golf Buggy. I was going to stay longer but packed up due to the Farmer cutting the Corn Field which caused us all to be covered by those horrible tiny black corn flies. They were everywhere and very irritating. This was on the 12th August 2009 I would go back but I would first check that the farmer is not going to disturb those flies first.
Nearest Town is Corbridge about 4-miles and nearest Pub is The Robin Hood about 2-mile left out of Camp. I had a meal there which was uncooked and very poor for the price. So I wouldn't recommend it for food. Plenty of walkers come to this site due to it being on the Hadrain Wall Route.

Just got back from the campsite, had a really good time.
The campsite was really busy and there was quite a lot of noise however it added to the atmosphere, the campsite rules are that no noise after 11pm and strangely enough this actually happened.
The toilet block is in the next field to the tent field which was a bit of a trek but not a problem.
Don't believe that there are take aways in Corbridge there is only an Indian, it was very nice but would have preferred a choice, if you are looking for a take away go to Hexham.
All in all had a brilliant time, Hadrians wall not far away and loved the atmosphere of the site and will definitely go again.

Just come back from an excellent weekends camping.
The site is split into two - the right hand side of the drive is for caravans and the left hand side for tents. The camping field is well maintained with the grass kept short and owners coming round after departure to clear away any left rubbish.
The toilets and showers are basic but well maintained and cleaned twice a day (3 times on Saturday after heavy rain meant muddy footprints all over) and there was plenty of hot water which was free.
The nearest pub is about 1 1/2 miles away.
There's no park for the kids but loads of open space to run around in.
Will definitely come back to this site - good site, friendly owners and a 20 min drive from centre of Newcastle - what more could you want?

This is a lovely site. It is quite basic with 2 fields, one for caravans and one for tents, however there were some tourers on the field for tents.
It is a decent sized field so even when busy there is plenty of room for the kids / dogs / adults to play!
The toilet / showers block is lovely and clean and there is always plenty of toilet roll!
We loved this site and have now been 4 times and at £5.00 per adult, per night, this is a bargain.
I would definitely recommend this site to anyone who needs peaceful, relaxing time out.

This is one of my favourite sites, we go regularly and I love its laid back charm, we have a folding camper and pitch on the tent field in the very corner as there are about 4 electric hook ups. The tent area is very large and has ample space for the children to play, we find this area better than the tourer side as the tourers tend to be a lot more quieter and when you have 2 small children you feel conscious of the noise and also if they are playing football. The toilet block is sufficient, has 3 showers and two toilets there has never been a queue whilst I have been there. When you arrive you just pick your pitch and the owners tend to come around later on in the evening. One of my favourite sites. Will be back there this weekend.

We visited this site during a really lovely sunny & hot weekend, with the aim of visiting the sites along hadrians wall. This site was in a really good location for this. When we arrived the tent field was quiet but after returning from a day out it had become busier. We were amazed by peoples lack of respect for others, with families shouting till late, dogs barking and even car stereos blasting out. Toilets were adequate, nice hot showers, no queuing. Wash up area with washing machine & iron etc. Friendly owners but unfortunately they let their dog run out each morning into the tent field to do it's business and didn't bother to clean up!
We would not return to this site as it was fairly uninteresting and wouldn't take the risk of the noisy fellow campers again.

First time out with van me an wifey. The site is well maintained, 1 side for tents an other for vans. Toilets an shower are fine, very quiet even with quite a few kids staying on tent pitch. 3-4 miles into corbridge. Hexham just up road. Great indian in corbridge, best I've had (slept with vents open). Pitches on slight slope, not a problem. £14 a night well worth it. Going again for that peaceful week-end.

Stayed here for 2 nights over the bank holiday a nice little site. Showers and toilets very clean and plenty of hot water. Showers are free so that is a plus. Surrounding area very nice. Easy to travel into Hexham or Corbridge. A very warm welcome and at 14.00 pound a night its a bargain would visit again.

We stopped for one night and it was fairly busy, but we totally enjoyed it. It was the only site taking on tents in the area as most others had closed their tent fields due to flooding, but the ground was fine here. As per previous reviews the tents are in a field next to the crops, although when we visited they had been harvested. In the absence of any crops the field was really exposed to the wind. The toilets were basic but clean. Would definitely stop here again.

Stayed Friday and Saturday night at wellhouse farm and enjoyed the easygoing atmosphere of pitching wherever we pleased- just the two of us and the dog. There are two fields- one for mainly caravans and motor-homes (with electric) and the other field for tents. Some reviews have mentioned a steep slope- it isn't really that steep but at the top of the field not very level so we chose to pitch at the bottom end. There is a fence around the top end of the field though not at the bottom which runs into very high crop-fields! The tent field was not busy with only around 9 tents all weekend so plenty of room.
The showers and toilets are not in the tent field but it isn't far to walk and they are clean enough- despite the wet weather we had. There is no longer a shop on the site either which is a shame as its quite far to travel to the nearest shops (corbridge - 4 miles or hexham -10 miles) There is also a pub- Robin Hood which is a couple of miles- wouldn't fancy walking though as the roads are very narrow and its a bit far away!
We were not met on arrival but the friendly owners call round on their golf buggy later in the night and collect payment and give you a ticket for your tent- £5 each was the price which was well worth it!
Its a lovely site to visit if you want to spend some time in the North East countryside though also very close to big city shops / attractions too as the A69 is close by.
The only bad point is the dogs on leads/no ball games is not enforced and a family let their two dogs run around the field all weekend barking. Also the noise from a couple of large families was getting a bit ridiculous at 1am considering there is no noise after 11pm! But these things happening would depend on your visit- a few more warning signs would help and I would still return here anyway.
