Sign on main road to site was misleading, said 1 mile- more like 2, makes a difference when you are backpacking! Site was attractive with nice rural views, site shop was very very basic only stocking minor things, I would advise bring your own stuff.
The site was noisy at night with balls being kicked against our tent and waking up in the morning to find 3 of our guy lines hanging off.

We have just had the pleasure of spending a week at this site. Although it's facilities are quite basic we had a great weekend with our ukcs friends and stayed on until the Friday to get some much needed relaxing (chilling) time. Barbara and Lloyd who do the job as acting Wardens to help the owners out are a lovely couple and would bend over backwards to help everyone. If you like to camp somewhere quiet this site is definitely worth looking up ! I will definitely keep this place in mind for the future. The only down sides were that the owners puppy was constantly running around after the kids footballs and trainers (but it was only a puppy) and nobody was available to man the small shop very often although if you asked Barbara when you needed something then she would open it straight away . They also sell fresh farm eggs .Yummy !

August 2005 This is a very basic site, but because of its location is handy for Hadrians Wall, Corbridge, Hexham and Newcastle.
The toilet and Shower block has just been built, and is clean, the "Kitchen sink and Laundry facilities are limited 1 sink and 1 washing machine.
The Elsan point is a basic as it gets but.. does what it is needed for.... I have spoken to the owner, who is friendly enough. And he is intending to improve the facilities.
Currently there is No shop so you have to make sure you have everything you need for your stay.
If you are in the overflow field (As we were on our UKCS meet) there is no water connection, but there are a limited number of EHU's. The nearest water point is across the faerm track, BUT I did notice that only 1 water point shows "Drinking Water"????

June 2005 A very friendly site that accepted 8 units at short notice after we left the midge infested kielder site. The site is being modernised and has a new shower block which is spotless, it was said that the ladies loo ran short of paper but that was the only complaint that i heard. nothing much on the site except peace and tranquility, but thats what i liked about it.
