I booked into this site intending to stay a couple of nights. Two weeks later I am still here. The people who own the site are so friendly and helpful, they keep everything so clean especially the toilets and showers.
I don't have children with me but there is a great playground which children of all ages really enjoy playing on.
The site is really well situated with Bewl Water just down the track beside the site and Bedgebury Forest just up the road. Both are great for cycling and walking.
There is an abundance of National Trust properties in the area. Tunbridge Wells and Tenterden, Hastings and Rye are close by.
The local pubs all do great food. It was really cheap to stay as well. I will certainly be back.

Stayed at this lovely site from Fri 6th May until the Tuesday. The site is on a bit of a slope but the advantage of this is the rain runs away and doesn't puddle in your awning! The owners are lovely and friendly and showed us around together with my parents who were going to stay there at the same time in their motorhome.
We sited ourselves at the very top of the slope near the trees. The electric hook-ups are all down one side with plenty of space between each one.
They are on the same side as the outside little lounge area (inside a cabin). Inside this cabin is tourist info, reading books, electric points for charging mobiles and the like, and a hairdryer. Also there is a fridge and freezer which you can use as long as you remember to mark up your bits and pieces.
On this same side is the outside washing up facilities (no running hot water but a kettle is provided), together with the fresh water supply and waste water disposal.
At the bottom of the campsite is the toilet/shower block. The ladies had two showers (to use them you need a 50p token for 5 mins obtained from outside the owners home). The 5 min shower was enough time for me but not quite enough time for my mum. The ladies also had two toilets. These were all clean. There is also a free hairdryer to use and a sink in the main part if you wish to wash very small children, clean your teeth, etc. Both of the toilets had their own washbasins so you could have a strip wash in private if you didn't want a shower. The mens I believe had 3 toilets and 2 showers (so my husband informs me!).
Outside the toilet/shower block is the rubbish bin and quite a few of recycling bins.
Running down the side of the campsite is a private road to which you can access Bewl Water. You can walk down there until you have gone through both kissing gates and then you can cycle if you wish as you are on farmers land. It is a bit of a struggle to lift the cycles over the kissing gates. You are not allowed to cycle the first part past the private houses.
Bewl Water charge you per person and it is cheaper if you take your own bike rather than hiring one.
There is so much to do around the area - we even took a day trip to Drusillas which is a must for the younger camping members. Our little 4 yr daughter loved it. I think it took just over 30 mins to get there.
Also, Scotney castle is lovely. We didn't visit the house just the gardens but we enjoyed it.

We had a lovely weekend here is April, the weather was fantastic, which obviously makes all the difference.
Good site for visiting lots of historical places, we went to Hever Castle which was a great day out.
The site is good with clean and tidy facilities, good size pitches etc. Shower was by token which you pay and collect at owners front door.
You are not too far from the sea neither, we went to bexhill and there was some sort of old car rally on which was interesting.
The only downside was the road noise as it is right on the main road. But it is still a good site for a few nights break.

This is an all-year site, but only just if you use a tent. I visited in late January (cabin fever again!) and was met by a friendly and helpful owner but told not to drive through the field and to camp just the other side of the gate. Fair comment, it had been extremely wet and the ground was very soft but nonetheless, a bit restrictive.
Loo block was modern and immaculate, so much so that I took my boots off before entering. Showers 50p token for about 5mins.
Field itself is rectangular, gently sloping upwards, woods at the far end (out of bounds) with numbers indicating the pitches, electrics all down the west side.
Ground itself is good for tent pegs. A nice touch is the cabin in the field, with chairs and a sofa, fridge-freezer, electric socket and a book exchange as well as a host of where-to-go/eat leaflets.
Washing up area is next to the cabin, cold water but kettle available. Proximity to the A21 could be noisy but I didn’t notice it.
A narrow lane passes up the western side, 30min walk to Bewl Water (expensive to park a car), and lots of other places to visit nearby.
Good site, would like to make a return visit in the summer.

Arrived at the site and was welcomed by the owner and shown to my pitch.
Pitch was good and the ability to park next to the tent was invaluable, the under cover area with sofa, fridge and power points was ideal and the washing up areas were perfectly adequate.
The shower and toilets were above average with the units regularly cleaned and the rubbish areas were tidy and kept the flies and wasps away from the tents.
Overall I would give this site 9/10, the children especially enjoyed their stay and have insisted on returning again in 2011 and with so much to do in the local area we probably will.

Brilliant, friendly site.
This was our first time ever at camping and there's five of us so I was a little unsure of what to expect.
Well here go the thumbs up.
New clean and well stocked up shower /toilet block with big mirror sink and free hairdryer
Ideal lounge area with sofas full length mirror and power points.
Useful leaflets, and a fridge and freezer!
Bbq for campers to use and also a nice touch the owners left out some of their homegrown veg for campers to feel free to take, we had a nice stuffed marrow on the barbie that night!
A nice park area for the children which was safe and had soft rubber chips on the floor in case they fell
The campsite was very clean friendly and kept well, lovely green grass ! We will be back thank you!
Oh and don't let the reviews about the dogs down the footpath put anyone off, I was expecting loads of dogs jumping up, we saw two and they're very secure in their own field !
A great footpath is next door to the campsite leading to Bewl water

This was a good campsite - seems fairly new - as far as being clean and well looked after but in time, maybe more toilets and showers and clearer signs for the Ladies toilets would be good (my friend came out of the shower to find a man at the sink brushing his teeth!)
There was a free hairdryer which was a bonus for my friend and the toilet block was one of the cleanest you could find and well stocked on toilet paper and soap.
The washing up facilities need a better solution for a hot water supply other than an electric kettle as this is not altogether environmentally friendly or practical.
Campsite also cited very close to a busy, main road and traffic noise is noticeable. Great access to local Bewl Water though, for walking. No pub or restaurant within walking distance, unless you risk the busy A21.
The weather made it for us on our weekend stay.

I really liked this campsite. The showering facilities were great. Individual showers which were very nice and all really clean. The lounge area where the fridge / freezer was, was nice to sit in, because it had a light, two comfy armchairs and a sofa. Also there are loads of leaflets and a folder on what's around including take away menus.
The campsite itself is on a slope but that didn't bother us because we were at the bottom of the slope. There was a problem with the road, because it quiet loud, but you can block it out.
It's a good half an hour walk to bewl water, and watch out for the 9 german shepards on the walk. They are just pass the nice cottage (which is on the left) They bark a lot and go right up to the fence but they can't get to you, but the path that goes along the fence is quiet tight so watch out. When you get past the first gate thing, you can cut through the hedge and walk in the field away from the dogs. Bewlwater was really fun and there's loads to do there.
The playground was fun but the swing doesn't swing very far.
The barbecue was useful but it was really dirty, so we asked for a wire brush to clean it with. After that it was fine. Also there two sinks to do washing up in, and I'm sure one has a washing up bowl. In conclusion I would really recommend it.

What a great little site!
Well signposted. Slightly sloping site split into two fields. Only downside was road noise as just off the A21.
Excellent facilities - 2 toilets with sinks, and 2 showers for female, same for men. Hairdryer. Larger sink and baby change area. 50p for a shower token - for 5 minutes - easily had time to shower myself and my filthy 5 year old! Mops to wipe floor if needed.
Two pot wash areas - cold water only, but one has kettle. Visitors lounge, with fridge freezer and sockets for charging phones. Lots of info about the local area.
Children's play area - not huge, but well designed and solid. Black rubber chips for safety surface, so kids will be filthy!
Friendly, helpful owner.
Can walk to Bewl via a footpath, but it's a fair way - one group tried it - the dads had to do the whole thing - to come and get the cars as the children ran out of steam! Mind you, it was the hottest day of the year so far!
Can recommend the Bull at Three Legged Cross for play area and food!

Pleasant site with friendly helpful owner, very reasonably priced with some nice touches, ie. The communal fridge freezer and a comfortable hut in case it rains and children's play area. Facilities are clean and practical,
15 minutes walk from the lake along a woodland path. (Entry by car to Bewl water this weekend was £8, camping here avoids this)
You'd do well to stock up first as no shops close by.
Walking past the guard dogs of the neighbouring property was a bit of an adrenalin rush but safe.
