This is a lovely site, it is on a slope, but only a gentle one. The showers and toilets are kept very clean, even when the site is busy.
The owners are very friendly and gave us directions to all the best walks and cycle rides, they couldn't have been more helpful.
Although close to the A21, we weren't disturbed by any traffic noise, the site is small and quiet, with a small play area for the children.
We will definitely return.

The facilities on the site were great with really clean toilet and shower blocks and a handy play area for the children. We were directed to the slopey field though which made it difficult to put chairs anywhere without feeling like you were going to topple over. Also, the road was noisy
We walked through to Bewl water on our first afternoon which was lovely but be aware that the path isn't entirely pushchair friendly so you really need two adults with small children. There are also security dogs in one of the properties along the drive. They are well fenced off but do bark, which might frighten younger ones. For the second day, we visited Bedgebury Forest. They charge £7.50 per car but it's a really good family friendly day out.

What a lovely campsite !
We have just returned from staying here for the weekend. It is a small campsite but probably the nicest and cleanest we have stayed at.
The ladies toilet/shower block must be brand new as it was lovely and clean - even when the site was full it was still kept clean. Only 2 toilets and 2 showers for ladies however even when site was full it was never busy. Apparently the men's facilities are not new but were still very clean.
Small play area for the children which seemed popular.
Small supermarket 2 mile drive away, didn't find any shops within walking distance.
The pitch we were given was next to the hut that contained chairs and fridge/freezer which was very handy as the weather was lovely.
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Yes the site is next to the A21 however even at the dead of night you can only just hear it.
The walk through the woods to Bewl Water is well worth doing, probably about 1 1/2miles from campsite to water ( a bit further to the visitors centre, etc)
The nearest pub we found was the Globe and Rainbow, probably about a mile walk, partially along the A21 which wasn't great and would not recommend the walk to families etc as the road is very fast !
Overall a lovely site, very well looked after and will definitely be returning.

A pleasant, grassed site, albeit with a slope down from left to right, across the field.
The owner has thought this through and has robust, tailor made chocks for 'van and motorhome users, making setting up more feasible.
Best pitches are the one immediately behind the ladies loo, and one at the top left hand side of the field - these would require the least chocking, and both with hook up. One is good if are taken short, the other isn't but gives a good view on the way down if you're in a hurry.
Facilities all had labels on to say what they are for - drinking water, waste, chemical disposal etc., subject to the ability to do as they request.
Toilet/ shower block functional, but compact - showers on 50p meter.
Surrounding area has a lot to offer - Bewl Water, Battle, Bedgebury Pinetum, Scotney Castle and so on - scenery, history and more.
Road noise from A21 is noticeable, but subject to depth of sleep, and one's level of tolerance to background noise.
Owners very sociable and were always present for chat and advice.
Would recommend the site, as long as being prepared to 'chock', and definitely for the area.

Great Camp site, owners were very helpful and lent me a hook up. They were always on hand to answer any questions ie. shops and the surrounding area. Ladies toilets block is new and clean 50p for a token for a 5 min shower. The gents has not been updated as yet but I think that is in the pipe line. Little play area for the kids and there was a lot of them! A great family camp site with loads to do in the surrounding area. The field however is not flat and I did see a few tents pitched on slight slops. Over all we had the best weekend and cant wait to get back in the holidays!

This was our first camping trip as a family, so we picked a smallish site nearby. Really friendly owners, showed us around when we arrived and showed us to our pitch. The facilities are small but as it's only a small site this was fine, maybe the only thing is, they could do with 2 washing up sinks in the pot wash area.
A small kids play area to keep them entertained.
As for things to do, there's loads near by, With Bewl Water just a short walk away or the Pineturm if you like a walk / cycle through the woods, or a 25 minute drive down to hastings (also taking you past the camping shop at johns cross).
There's a small supermarket in Hawkhurst just down the road, or if you don't mind a bit of a drive, there's a tesco just off the A21 at Pembury.
All in all a great little site

We have just returned from this site having spent a weekend there. The site is quite small, but has everything you need. We were situated at the top of the main field & the ground was quite bumpy - could do with rolling in the winter!
The ladies showers are fairly new - there are 2 showers & two toilet / washbasin cubicles. The mens have the same but they are older - I think they are in line for refurbishment soon. Showers are 50p each for 4-5 minutes which is just about long enough.
There is a small playground, but not much other space for children to play if the campsite is full.
The area is great though - near to Bewl water for water sports & biking. We also went to Bedgebury Pinetum for biking & walking. The only downside is that it is close to the A21, so road noise is quite loud at night.

We spent 2 nights at Cedar Gables and thoroughly enjoyed it. The facilities were as clean as can be in a campsite and the site was not too crowded and was very quiet.
I would imagine this is a good campsite for people with young children as the whole site is fenced and there is a playing area.
The only downside: the noise coming from the nearby road.

Really lovely clean site with immaculate facilities and friendly owner. Lovely walk to Bewl Water through woods that were covered in Bluebells - gorgeous! Nearby there was plenty to do - we visited Hever Castle which was great. The only downside was the noise from the nearby road - we found this very disturbing even at night. Other than that, lovely site.

We have stayed at this site many times and were pleased to find that it is still open in the winter. They have now doubled up on the number of toilets and showers, can't imagine that there will ever be any need to queue even in busy times. The countryside around this park is great, so many places to walk and cycle. Very friendly site. The new 'campers lounge ' is a great facility. It gives somewhere to sit on a rainy day without being cramped inside a tent. The book swop is a good idea and the use of the fridge freezer in the room was very useful.
