Cracking little site with really friendly staff and the local pub serves fantastic food and ales,
We have visited this site on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. The toilet block is always clean and tidy and although can get busy I have never had to queue for the showers more than a couple of minutes. There is plenty to see and do not far from the site either coastal or countryside but a car is essential.
No visit to slingsby would be complete without a visit to castle howard it is a beautiful house and gardens. We will be back again for sure.

This was a little gem of a site. We were greeted by very friendly staff who gave us a choice of pitches and were very honest both on the phone and in person about the sewerage up the back where we were due to pitch and the smell it could emit, so much so that we barely noticed the smell at all.
We were literally pitched back to back with the tanks and despite the midges it attracted (in their thousands) we were very happy with the location and wouldn’t have wanted to be further toward the centre of the site. We overlooked an open field and despite having a unit to either side of us we felt very private with plenty of room. The site was well kept and facilities were ample and clean.
We like to take our bikes and there were many routes direct from the site so we never needed to move the car and had a fab time exploring. There is a small shop/ post office in the village and a lovely pub which is only a minutes walk from the site. If you don’t go prepared food wise you will have to go out for a drive to the nearest supermarket as there is nothing nearby. We used Morrisons at Malton, about 10-15 min drive.
Overall this is a cracking little site and we will definitely be back if we visit the area again.

A small friendly site with dishwashing facilities indoors. Ladies toilets were disappointing - one small sink for 4 toilets. Gents showers had cracked tiles but were clean. On booking I was told that I would have a choice of plot 24 or 21 but was not told that they were adjacent to the sewerage treatment plant which is actually situated on the campsite. To frequently hear the pumps, slushing the sewerage and the resultant aroma day and night was not conducive to a pleasant break. I feel it would have been more helpful if we had been made aware of this situation prior to booking.

This is a lovely site with friendly managers. We were shown to our pitches down the bottom of the site near the sewerage works but to be honest this didn't matter it didn't affect our stay and we didn't smell anything. This site was an old railway line so its long and thin.
The toilet/shower block was clean and warm. The managers recommended the local pub in the pretty village which was a 5min walk away, we didn't go but we heard the live entertainment on the Saturday night. We were pitched next to a field with cows and the biggest bull ever in it! we were concerned one evening when setting the bbq up because a group of children were flying a kite in the same field but they soon moved when the bull got close!
A visit to goathland is highly recommended. I think when you come to slingsby to visit other places you need the car as there isnt much about in the area but this isnt a negative thing. We would definitely return here!

Didn't book before we went but site manager very helpful and booked us in. Lovely site with clean toilets and showers and mowed lawns.
Centrally sited with so many places to visit in the area. Visited my cousin in Norton which is only 7 miles away and there is also a Morrisons at Malton. Visted Filey, Helmsley Stream Rally, Thirsk where there is James Herriot Museum. Local pub serves excellent food. Unfortunately we had to cut our visit short as my husband became ill and the site manager hooked up our van for which we were very grateful. We will deffinately be visiting again as soon as we can.

As expected we found the usual high C & CC standards of cleanliness in the toilet and shower block together with very friendly and helpful staff. Slingsby is a very quiet village but can boast an excellent pub with good real ales and home cooked food at reasonable prices on offer.
Ideally situated for exploring around Pickering and Helmsley. We will be going back again and again.

This is a very nice site, up to the usual C&CC standards. Facilities were well maintained & there is sufficient space even on a BH weekend. The site is long & narrow (former railway station) so some of the pitches are quite a walk from the toilets. The bottom pitches are right next to the village sewage works, there was however no smell we could detect! The ground is railway ballast with turf on top, so good rock pegs are needed. All pitches we saw were flat, however some had a small but steep bank to get onto them. This could be a ground clearance issue for some cars. There were a number of quite low tree stumps & rocks along this bank that could ground or damage cars / caravans too. There is no play area or field for games on site, though the village has a small play area & a decent sized park. The local pub was friendly & served nice meals as well as doing take-aways. There is a small shop in the village which had nice baked goods & groceries, the site office also had the usual milk & other basics. We used the chip shop that comes to the site on Saturday evenings & enjoyed the meal. There are several places selling free range eggs, home made jam etc. The former station house adjacent, sells home made cakes.
Local area is beautiful. Good walks including the railway track along to the next village. Close to Castle Howard, Scarborogh, NY moors National Park & York. Malton, Helmsley & other local towns are picture book beauty spots. Would certainly go back.

Visited this site over May Day bank holiday.
Site was almost full, but didn't feel crowded.
Toilet block and dishwashing area was immaculate - despite having rain over the course of the weekend there were no muddy footprints and not much of a queue for the showers.
Really handy for the village pub, which does meals and takeaways which we didn't sample but looked good.
Malton only 6 miles away with all the shops you need, although the village shop has the basics.
Would definitely visit again.

A site which is worth a visit just to take in the local scenery

This was our first visit to this site but it wont be our last. We spent 4 nights here before moving on to Scarborough and wish that we had stayed here instead. The staff were very friendly and helpful, there are numerous walks in the area some of them passing the site entrance. The facilities were 1st class as we have come to expect from the Club. We didn't visit any pubs in the area so cant comment on them, the village shop was an Aladdin's Cave. although we did our main shopping in Malton, which was a nice sized town with a Morrison's and a Netto. We also visited Eden Camp which was extremely interesting and we can recommend the Stew & Dumpling lunch.
