Read quite a number of reviews before selecting this site and generally it didn't disappoint.
It's a great location and a peaceful and friendly site. It possibly lacks a shop but it wasn't a problem as St Davids not too far away and there is another camp site with a well stocked shop fairly close by for when shops are shut.
The facilities are good except they are a bit of a squeeze at times and it was a bit annoying when the family room was taken up by one person.
The laundry facilities were good and clean but very popular - following an early morning raid I managed to get some damp towels in the dryer
Our pitch was really good and we didn't feel like we were imposing on being imposed on.
One reason we chose this site was the playground which was good, except as its base was damp sand it cloyed to children's clothes. Nominate a set of 'park clothes' as it also stains. Damp sand was then carried into showers/toilets so no matter how clean they were in the morning it was a challenge for them to remain clean throughout the day.
The above may seem negative but it needs to be put in the context of a popular really well run and friendly site.
Top tip - if you want to use the pitch and putt take your own clubs if you can - don't expect St. Andrews but it's a great additional facility
The surrounding area is stunning coastal scenery and we have countless photographs of an evening beach BBQ (Abereiddy) watching the sun go down.
There's plenty to do and see but it is also very relaxing.
I had heard positive comments about the area previously and on review sites and wasn't disappointed.

Absolutely loved the site, immaculately kept (without looking over manicured).
The facilities were always well maintained and clean and there was the free use of a fridge and freezer, extremely important for those of us who don't have hook up. The ladies toilets also has a hair dryer costing 20p.
The owners were extremely friendly and helpful without being intrusive, they were a mine of local information and even phoned to find out the surf conditions for us.
The site has a pitch and put golf field (which we didn't use as we always had our dog with us)and a small children's play area as well as a large playing field.
The nearest shops are a car ride away, as are a wealth of stunning beaches. As I said we loved the site and also fell in love with the area, we will be back.

Just returned from a 4 night break from Tretio, myself, the wife and our two kids, age 5 and 3 and I have to say that the site is brilliant.
It's not a big site, and there are no shops, which we like, although St. Davids is only a couple of minutes down the road, and has a CK supermarket ( although this is a bit overpriced ), plus other shops.
The site itself is immaculate, and the owners, Brian and Margaret are really pleasant and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. There are 4 showers, with a large family shower room. I used the shower room and I have to say that although it was clean, it would have benefited from a small window or an extractor fan, as I had trouble finding somewhere dry to hang my clothes due to condensation.
There is a washing up area with 4 double drainer sinks, which, like everything else, were always clean, and although there were only 4, we never had to queue.
You enter the site down a single track road (most of the roads in the area are either single track or very narrow ), and drive in past some static mobile homes, down to the reception, which although not always manned, has a sheet of paper saying who is arriving on that day and what pitch you are allocated to, so you don't have to sit around. It also says what pitches are vacant if you just turn up without booking. Also in this area are the toilets, showers, washing up facilities, and a room with washing machine, 2 freezers and a fridge.
Just past the reception is the play area, with a wooden boat and climbing frame with slide. Next to this is the field with EHU, then the non ehu field, then a large playing field.
The site is quite open and does get windy - you have been warned!
The surrounding area is breathtaking, with fantastic views. We drove to Abereiddi, which has an old quarry that has been filled with sea water, called the blue lagoon, yes, the water is really blue, from there we walked along the coastal path to the small harbour at Porthgain. We had food at the Sloop Inn - I can thoroughly recommend it. Nothing fancy, just good food, and plenty of it (leave some room for the homemade sticky toffee and date pudding, deeelicious!)If you plan to have food there, it is worth noting that they don't start cooking 'til 6pm, and it does get busy so best to book.
Also worth a visit is the City of St Davids, the smallest city in the UK, go and see the cathedral. Plenty of fine beaches, including White Sands, which is lovely, - I must mention that whatever part of the coast we visited, the water looked really clean and clear.
All in all a brilliant few days, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. We will definitely visit this site again

This was my first time camping with the family as I 'do not do camping' normally. This campsite was brilliant, and I am now converted! It was very clean, well set out, the owners were lovely and couldn't be more helpful. There were hot free showers there were mops for you to clean them when you left, toilets were very clean with toilet rolls, playground was very good and kept the youngest of ours amused. The weather was not great when we went but it didn't matter, was getting a little busy as we were leaving as it was bank holiday. Would definitely recommend this campsite it was excellent.

We visited St Davids and stayed in Tretio last August as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 year old and a 6 week old). We met up with friends and over all there were 5 families of us staying for various bits over 2 weeks leading up to the bank holiday.
Our pitches were conveniently placed overlooking the playing field and were pretty level though not generous so we felt we encroached a little on our neighbours with guy ropes.
None of this was a problem though as I have never stayed at a friendlier site. The couple running the site were ever helpful and friendly and in a family way not a stark 'customer service- do you want fries with that' insincere manner. I am sure this is part of the reason the other campers were also exceptionally friendly and volunteered help erecting/ unerecting tents, making tea on arrival or keeping an eye on children on park for a few minutes.
Facilities are simple but being improved but there is everything you need apart from emergency milk!
Site is not in walking distance from anywhere (unless you are hikers) but it is truly a family friendly site where you can relax and let your children play.

Booked last minute & had a fantastic time. Campsite is spotlessly clean & has all the facilities you need - Hot showers, washing & drying facilities, playground for the children & separate field for ball sports. We have 2 children aged 7 & 4 & the site was perfect for them as it was very safe.
The showers were a little dated & in need of a makeover but were always clean & tidy.
The surrounding area is beautiful & although the weather wasn't great there were plenty of things to see & do. A visit to the Cathedral is a must. There is a supermarket in St Davids which sells fresh bread & probably anything else you might need. You can also pick up takeaway pizza, Curry Etc from the rugby Club & food was great.
The couple managing the site were very friendly & nothing was too much trouble which definitely added to the enjoyment of our stay. Will certainly be returning to this site next year.

Just returned from a brilliant week stay at Tretio. Had never visited this part of the country and was delighted with the standard of camp site. The site is well maintained, and the pitches were well organised into 2 camping fields and a playing field at the bottom of the site.
When we arrived the office was shut, but there was a daily arrivals board on display so that you could get yourself set up and let the managers know you had arrived once they were back in the office.
The toilets and showers were kept clean and there was hot water whatever time of the day I strolled over for a shower! There were also freezer (free) and washing / drying facilities on site which was handy.
The refuse facilities are at the top of the site, so we tended to put rubbish in on our way out of the site to save a walk (very lazy!).
I cannot recommend this site highly enough and it was recently taken over by new managers who have been long time visitors of the site and are keen to maintain high standards. The managers could not do enough for us, especially when we realised our slight misunderstanding of the 'hook-up' when all we had was a standard extension lead.
The site is quite high up so does get a bit blustery, but due to the arrangement of the pitches this wasn't a problem.
From the site there is very easy access to plenty of lovely beaches and towns, Newgale beach was an absolute gem. St Davids is very close and has a good selection of grocery shops, pubs, clothing shops and cafes.

We have just returned from a great week away. We had never camped in Wales before, but found a great beach at Whitesands. We then walked to Porthmelgan, a sheltered small beach. We went crabbing at Abbreiddi, then walked a short distance to the Blue Lagoon and watched the cliff jumpers.
St David's has a great visitors centre when it was wet, there was arts and crafts for the kids, as well as interactive games.
The welcome from the campsite was fabulous, the managers are the most friendly, lovely people you could ever meet. They were always busy around the site, and always asked about where we had been and offered suggestions on where to visit or eat.
Our children spent many happy hours at the park, or in the playing field, which had a volleyball net.
The facilities were always clean, I never had to wait for a hot, lovely, free shower. There is also use of a fridge, freezer and power points (for free), what more could you ask for.

Stayed for a few days and found the owners to be very helpful and friendly. It's not a massive site, but this is a positive. The facilities building looks small but is rather Tardis-like, with several showers and toilets that were plenty for the number of people when we were there - everything always seemed clean as well.
Next to this was a washing up area, with several sinks. There is a small play area (slide and wooden ship) as well as an area for games (though I imagine this acts as an overspill when busier) and a nine hole pitch and putt course in the next field.
The area in general is lovely, though be aware that some of the roads are effectively single tracks, which can be hairy if other drivers choose not to be accommodating.
There is a reasonable size supermarket in St David's, which seemed to be reasonably priced (or at least was for the things we were buying) but there are the usual supermarkets in the nearby towns if they don't have what you want.
The owners were outstanding, though - although we had no problems, they were accessible and friendly, making themselves obvious on the site without being intrusive.

Stayed for 8 nights on this lovely site. Great location only 5 mins by car from idyllic Whitesands beach and St David's City centre which has a decent supermarket, although a bit pricey.
Facilities were spotless and cleaned regularly. There was a laundry which we didn't use, but others found very useful. And a fridge and freezer for communal use. Our kids loved the play area and made some new friends!
We just had one gripe which the new managers understood and empathised with. For the first 3 nights we had lots of space as the pitches either side of us were empty. However, on the Friday we returned to the site to find new neighbours had pitched way too close to our tent! This meant that we felt hemmed in and didn't really feel like sitting in the porch because we were so overlooked - not to mention the fire risk.
The new managers were very apologetic and we agreed that the problem was simply caused by the pitches staying the same size over the years whilst tents have got bigger and bigger. They offered us an extra night free of charge which we happily accepted.
Message to the owners. Please reduce the number of pitches and give us more space. I'd happily pay a couple of pounds extra so you don't lose any money!
