Quite a spacious site but neglected, the hook up pillar was open to the elements and was loose in the ground.
There was a lot of rubbish laying around the site (old clothing bits of timber and a 47kg calor gas bottle etc). The toilet block looked like an attempt had been made to clean it but the shower was unusable due to the waste being blocked and something wiped on the curtain.
It was a short walk into Porthcawl with some very nice pubs that did great food. Porthcawl itself was better than I expected with a decent part sandy/gravel beach.
Booking the site is very difficult as phone calls and emails are not returned and when you are on site there is nobody about to take your site fees not even a sign telling you what to do or where to pay?
A site with a great deal of potential waiting to happen (someday maybe?)

This was the first place we stayed when we got our new tent, we chose this place as it was near to Porthcawl and the beaches etc.
When we arrived we were met by the owner and directed to the pitch, it was busy at the time but we were told that others were leaving the next day so we would be able to move if we wanted to.
We had help to put up the tent from a lovely couple staying in a caravan on the site and plenty of help from others to put up airbeds etc.
Our cooker broke while we were on site and the owner and other people on the camp were very friendly and we were offered help from everyone.
There were only 2 toilets (1 men, 1 women) but they were cleaned daily, (even though they may not always look it). The showers were hot and tidy.
I would definitely visit this site again, as at £12 per night it really was back to basics and a very friendly, peaceful and enjoyable place to be

We have stayed at this charming site several times in the past and have always found it to be outstanding value. Where else could a family unit stay for just £12 per night. The setting is idyllic if you want total tranquillity. OK so the toilet block leaves something to be desired but remember it is not the Hilton nor are you paying their prices! Personally, they don't bother us, we use our own facilities anyway. Porthcawl and the surrounding areas have something to offer everyone and we would prefer to stay here than in any other site in the area.

This is a lovely little CL, with hard standings set in a large field with trees and flowers. It can accommodate large outfits and is very close to Porthcawl (2-3 minutes drive), which is a lovely resort. The field seemed well maintained, with grass cut. In addition to adequate electric points, there are 2 toilets ( 1 ladies, 1 gents) small basin (cold water) and a shower. This is a site I would visit regularly, but for the fact that toilet block did not seem to have been cleaned in many months. The dirt was grimed in making it virtually unusable. In addition one toilet had no seat and one door lock was loose.

Small site with well maintained gardens. Owner was very difficult to get hold of and, after initial booking, didn't return any emails or telephone calls.
Toilet/Shower block was not very nice at all. No loo seat on ladies loo, no toilet paper, definitely hadn't been cleaned in a while. The shower was, at least, hot!
It is pretty close to a nice beach and, despite the negatives, we enjoyed ourselves.

We found this site via ukcampsite, and it was also listed under the CCC certified sites as being a 5 van site. However, there were at least 12 caravans and 2 tents when we were there, not really what we were expecting as we wanted to have an experience of a very small site. The outside area of the site was excellent, very well kept, some hardstandings, trees and shrubbery. However, the toilet/shower block left a lot to be desired. It was a regular joke that we were "off to the toilet" armed with our loo roll as there was never one there the whole time we stayed there. The toilet seat needed repairing, the lock kept falling off in my hand. The shower head was cracked and most of the water ended up coming out of the crack and not out of the actual head, there was no shower curtain so the water went straight to the outside of the unit, where you stored your clothes, which got soaking wet, and then an inevitable puddle on the floor with no dry space to dry and get dressed without leaving the shower cubicle. I am not sure if these are ever cleaned or maintained either, as I never ever saw anyone around, and apparently the owner of the site is never about. We werent going to let all this spoil our holiday though, and had an excellent time with lovely weather. My two daughters loved going for a short walk up the lane to see the donkeys, as they made their daily walk to the beach to give rides. It was a site in a very quiet area but close to all the sea, sand and candyfloss of the seaside.

A pretty, secluded, small site, very well maintained grounds with trees and shrubs separating areas. Great guy Mal helped us put up the trailer tent as it was the first time we had used it. A quick car journey and you are in Porthcawl (about 3 mins) which has a fairground, promenade where there are plenty of coffee bars, and other bars, also the main street for shopping. We only went for a weekend to give the tent a trial run before our main hols, and that was enough as the facilities on the campsite were appalling! There are two toilets one male, one female, a chemical toilet area, sink with cold water and one shower all housed in the same room, the loos were cleaned everyday, but state of the room was so bad it was hardly worth it. Great place to go if you have your own sanitation, we would go back but not for longer than a night or two which is such a shame! Improve the facilities and it would be full all year.
