We visited this site during a very cold wet and muddy Easter period but even so were blown away by the views and surrounding countryside. There are public footpaths from the site to the surrounding villages and plenty to explore in the area.
The owners are very friendly and welcoming and are taking care to design a site which I'm sure will be very popular once established. The facilities are spotless although unheated and you need at least 2 20p's for a decent shower. There is nowhere to put rubbish so be prepared to take it home with you!
The Jervis Arms pub in Onecote is excellent value with 2 decent meals for £10. Leek is approx 6m for the nearest supermarket.
Am looking forward to returning in better weather to fully appreciate the site and surrounding area.

Sheldon House Farm is a lovely campsite to go and spend a few days in a tent or in a caravan. They have lovely surrounding areas which you can see for miles, they have toilets (seperate male/female), showers, electrical points and drinking water. There is a pub about 1 1/4 away and in a small village is a shop.I would however point out with the location being so remote that you are fully open to all what the elements can throw at you.We booked in for 3 nights/4 days and we had to leave on the second day due to high winds/rain.
The farmer and his wife were absolutley charming, they fetched us fish and chips and made us feel very welcome
Would recommend to go in high season and in summer

Even before arriving we knew that Sheldon House Farm was going to be a really friendly place, having gotten lost and been on the phone to the owners about 3 times, they were very understanding and helpful.
Upon arriving we were shown the facilities which I really can only describe as amazing! The bathrooms were so cosy, tiled, slate floors, locks, cleaner toilets than I could have ever imagined, hot showers, mirrors-EVERYTHING!
The location could not have been more idyllic either, although we were not there for walking or hiking-the surrounding countryside was beautiful and right on your doorstep with obviously miles and miles to explore. The pub is literally down the road and we all ate the biggest, most beautiful(and welcome!) meal, you could possibly think of at such an affordable price!
The price for our tents was amazing, most other places around that area are quoted at £20-sometimes even £30, but for £8 at the last minute we were all very pleased.
But most of all, I must mention the welcome that we had. The owner, Mr. Bullock was the most friendly, helpful man I have ever met-even offering us a lift down to the pub! He and his wife have obviously put in ALOT of time and effort to create such a fantastic place, with brilliant facilities and such personality.
I can only hope that people can read this review and go to experience this place themselves-I really tell you no word of a lie, I have never met a more beautiful place or more genuine, friendly people. A DEFINITE MUST FOR ANYONE!

Great campsite. Plenty of space to pitch and nice/clean toilet areas as part of the renovation of the farm. Enthusiatic and friendly owners on-site at farm main buildings - Cynthia and David Bullock. Reasonably priced and includes hot water. Showers are only 20p. Extensive views as the site is high on the moor and can attract a bit of wind but windbreaks have been put in place to combat this. Nearest shop in Butterton. The pub in Grindon remains closed and so two pubs available via car - Onecote or Butterton. Walks can be done straight from the site. For walkers a host of local hills to explore including Golden Hill; Sugar Loaf; Grindon Moor and Ossams Hill.
