Just returned from a very enjoyable couple of days on this site. The site is flat with large pitches and so wonderfully quiet with no children (there is a God).

The facilities are excellent with a very clean toilet/shower block. The site itself is very well tendered and although not into fishing the lakes were very relaxing and the people who were fishing said the fish were in good health.

Debbie and her parents are very friendly and welcoming providing a super breakfast at very reasonable cost.

The dogs thoroughly enjoyed the walks in the woods getting excited when rabbits were spotted. The roadway is not as bad as portrayed by other reviewers and is only very slightly uneven (we have been down a lot worse).

We will definitely be paying a return visit to the site in the not to distant future.

My wife and I found this site through the reviews, it was a bit further out from Lincoln than we wanted, but the other nearer forest site had terrible write ups.

What can I say to show our appreciation for allowing us to have the privilege of staying there, other reviews say it all, clean, spotless, immaculate, peaceful, no noise at all except the fishermans splash when they pull in that big Carp, great site, great food, fantastically relaxing.

The owner is so friendly, it was like meeting up with a long term friend, the other campers have exactly the same aura, friendly and all smiling, this site is a true find.

Just spent a lovely week at Lakeside Touring Site, and didn't want to leave. The site as we entered was through woodlands and opened up on to this amazing picture perfect scenery. Lovely welcome from Debbie in reception, and a great family Thomas, George and Doreen who keep the place immaculate.

Debbie kept us fed and watered for the week with her great cooking, every where outside was so tidy and pitches where so manicured, toilet blocks are first class.

As was told in the phone conversation with Debbie the site was so relaxing and peaceful with great walks, can't wait to return:))

Well! To be honest I half contemplated writing a terrible review to put people off from going to this cracking site! Arriving and finding the entrance was easy enough. You are met with a security gate which is locked at 10pm each day. Open the gates and follow the path and signs to the site. As you approach the main area you will see the new wooden reception / cafe which has a pull in where you can park up whilst checking in.

In the reception area we were met by the owners daughter who was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Checking in done and information relayed to us regarding the site, it's facilities and rules, we drove up to our selected pitch (by the water) and started to get settled in. This didn't take long! To say the atmosphere is relaxed is perhaps an understatement. The site is very well kept, the waters and fish are obviously well cared for, the toilet block and facilities are of a good standard and kept clean.

There are the usual facilities on site, toilet block with showers, elsan point, freshwater points and a small cafe serving food up until early evening. The pitch was a gravel area for the van with a good sized grass area for awning and relaxing, with enough room at the rear of the van to park the car (caravan went in forwards facing the lake). We were pitched about ten foot from the waters edge which was fantastic. No dragging loads of gear miles down a track to go fishing! There were no pegs marked out but to be honest most people were fishing straight by their vans so I don't really think peg markings are necessary. The site is level, with two reasonable sized lakes and a small wooded area for strolls or o take the dog out for a walk.

We soon got friendly with several other people around us who all said the same thing. If you want peace and relaxation then this place is just the ticket. I have to agree. There seemed to be quite a few long termers which seemed to help the atmosphere even more as they were all very friendly with each other and welcomed the new comers!

Fishing was good. I caught a couple of double figure carp, some excellent looking tench and a whole net full of roach! The roach can be a bit of a pain so avoid soft baits if you want to target the bigger stuff. The site recommends minimum of 8lb line. Don't take the recommendation likely. The little 'uns fight hard. I had a 4 pounder take the line and run. I thought I had hooked a speedboat!

One evening we could not be bothered to cook so we ate at the on site cafe. Good value food and worth having. The new cafe is situated looking out over both lakes so makes a pleasant setting to have a bite to eat or just grab a drink from.

The site is well positioned for visiting Lincoln or Newark. The nearest village is Saxilby where you will find all the basics you might want; convenience store, post office, chippy, chinese take away, petrol, etc.

To sum up, a great site, great setting, kept very well, good relaxed and peaceful atmosphere (don't forget this is an adult only site) with a good level of facilities and good standards. Do you get the impression we were impressed? If there is any doubt left then all I will say is arr, peace and quiet!

Just returned today from a fantastic two nights at this wonderful touring park. Debra was so friendly and cooks a brilliant breakfast (too large for me so my husband had to eat most of mine too). Great value at £3. 95 for three sausage, two bacon rashers, hash brown, egg, beans and tomato. Lunch menu looked great value too. Great fishing and first class toilet and shower facilities. Can't wait to return.

Following our most recent of many previous stays at Lakeside we feel obliged to tell others about the pleasurable stay we had at this adults only site. Peace and tranquillity on the manicured spacious pitches, around two well stocked fishing lakes with carp to 12lbs plus, tench, bream and roach. Toilet and shower facilities are spot on, as are waste disposal. The site is managed by the owner and his very nice daughter. The recently installed reception cabin offers snacks, sandwiches, cooked breakfasts, and hot or cold drinks, and is central to the site. A short drive will take you to Saxilby for fish and chips, pub lunch and a nice walk along the canal. Further afield are Lincoln and Newark for anything else you may require. A very enjoyable stay

We have just spent a lovely weekend on lakeside relaxing quiet and friendly. The new café is a fantastic addition as is the lady who runs it nothing is too much trouble and the food was lovely. The toilets were very clean and tidy as usual and the fishing very good, we will return to this site regularly. If you want to get away from it all on a clean tidy quiet well run site where you feel like family I can highly recommend lakeside.

We stayed here for a week over the Whitsuntide break. Found the booking in easy as Debbie was in the office (next to the little cafe)and we were offered a choice of pitches.

We chose a pitch near the pond on the left hand side, the ones nearest the lake were already full so we pitched near the woods. The tent only just fitted due to it's canopy so we were slightly under the trees, (regretted this due to the heavy rain during the week). Plugged in the ehu but found it had tripped, George investigated and soon reset it.

We found most of the others camping there (in caravans) seemed to be regulars.

There are plenty of fish in the ponds, I caught carp (up to 10lb), tench, bream and rudd. I also had a small pike chase a bream that I'd hooked.

The toilets are kept spotless, a credit to the owners.

We would recommend a breakfast from the cafe, it was lovely.

The site is a hidden gem and we will be definitely returning in the future.

Just come back from a weekend at lakeside caravan Park. When driving up to the site through the woodlands the scenery was lovely and welcoming. The site is immaculately kept and also are the toilet facilities, a credit to the owner.

Been here a few times and usually have the same pitch.

A lovely lady booked us in and gave us all info we would need for a nice weekend stay. She was extremely professional, welcoming and friendly. Lakeside caravan park has just opened a lakeside cabin diner where we ate there quite often, the food was fantastic and great value for money.

The owner cooked our meals and looked after us, nothing was too much trouble for her. I would definitely recommend this site, and it's also more appealing as its adults only. Book with confidence and enjoy everything it as to offer. Also great fishing and walks. Any queries ask for the owner and she can't do enough for you. Happy camping.

Just had a lovely weekend at Lakeside, the camp owners are very attentive you feel welcome from the minute you arrive. They have recently opened a small cafe which is a bonus, we are tent owners so found the cafe very handy. The menu is small but tasty and the lady who works there was very helpful. We had to rate the site 1 out of 10 for child friendliness because it is a adult only site this does not detract from how good the site is. We would recommend Lakeside every time.
