Two adults, two kids (aged 15 & 12) plus dog, Gelert Bliss 4 & EHU.
Returned from a wild (weather wise) but wonderful (campsite & location) two night stay here which started off with a friendly, helpful welcome from the owner.
The site is a very short stroll from Kettlewell, a beautiful, picturesque tiny village in The Dales. The village has three pubs (we ate at The Blue Bell which we can highly recommend - as it states on the board outside 'mucky dogs, muddy boots & dirty women all welcome'!), tearoom, bistro, a small outdoors shop, a playpark, a playing field, a village store selling everything plus lots of lovely views and walks. The views from the site are stunning; you really feel away from it all with the convenience of being able to grab something to eat/drink/pint of milk or go for a walk directly from the site.
The facilities really are something else! We could actually smell the newness of them. 3x 'proper' showers (no push buttons here & you get to control the temperature), 3x toilets, 3x sinks in ladies; same in men's, hairdryer & plug points in ladies, pot wash area with freezer available to use; all of these were immaculate with the additional benefit of underfloor heating which was very much welcomed with the typical bank holiday weather we experienced! Despite the torrential rain and high winds the facilities remained spotless all weekend. Our teenage son even used the showers which speaks volumes!
The site is reasonably priced. We paid £62 for two nights. This included the electric & facilities. One thing we particularly liked was that you didn't have the usual '3 night minimum stay' as you normally find on a bank holiday.
The customer service was second to none. Really friendly owners without being 'in your face'. Always had time for a chat and noticeably worked hard to maintain the site.
There is no designated 'play area' for children but it does not need one. There is a lovely play park and playing field literally a stones throw away if your kids need a specific area to play.
This site gets a well deserved 10/10 from us & we can't wait to return!

Fantastic site. A beautiful level, well kept field with views to die for. The facilities on the site are excellent with ample hot water, brand new shower block and wasting up facilities. There is a freezer on site which is handy for refreshing your ice blocks. Kettlewell is a very short stroll away through the village graveyard. 3 pubs to choose from, a village shop etc. Really nice, one of the nicest campsites we have stayed at. We will definitely return. Thank you

This site is very good indeed! It opened this Easter, with a block for toilets, showers and washing-up facilities. The toilet / shower rooms are heated, very clean, with lovely contemporary fixtures and fittings. There are no additional charges for using the showers or hairdryer. The field itself is quite undulating, and care should be taken to avoid grounding when driving low or heavily-laden vehicles along the designated road through the field.
The centre of the village of Kettlewell is only a few minutes stroll away. There are roads at each end of the field, and a footpath that passes through the field that takes you into the village through the church yard.
The river Wharfe is close by, with plenty of opportunity for walks either along the river or up and down the surrounding hills.
Kettlewell has three pubs, some cafes, a post office in the YHA building, and a couple of shops too. We only stayed for one night, but would loved to have stayed longer in this lovely village. We will definitely be back - Highly recommended!

Visited this site easter 2015. Amazing setting, two minutes walk to the village, through the graveyard. Stunning views, walks for all abilities.
The facilities are all new and kept spotlessly clean. Hot showers, hairdryer and underfloor heating.
Owners friendly and welcoming, will definitely return.

Stayed two nights August Bank Holiday weekend at this temporary campsite for August this year, which will be opening next Easter as a permanent fixture in Kettlewell. It is beautifully situated on the edge of the tiny dales village with stunning views all round. We will most definitely revisit next year when a new facilities block is planned to be ready. There is just one field, not too big at all. I think they have permission for 40 units maximum. It was full this weekend, mostly tents, a couple of very small motorvans, but due to extremely tight access, nothing larger than a car or small van (not a caravan) could get in to the field. I'm not sure if that will change next year. Mostly familes with children, which for an old couple like us who like peace and quiet can get a bit noisy at times, but a smattering of mature groups and walkers as well. The field is flat, if a little undulating in places, but everyone seemed to manage a flat bit. The facilities were two unisex loos, two unisex showers which we didn't use but were very well used by others (on a coin meter) and two sinks with draining boards which doubled for personal washing and pots. Totally inadequate for the number of people there this weekend but spotless. The owners were constantly on hand, mopping and cleaning which reassured you even if you had to wait a little while. The current facilities are a bit of a walk from the field, in the farmhouse outbuildings which is fine in the daytime, but if you need to visit in the night, it could be a bit of a trek. This will be addressed next year we are told because the new block will be in the field and there will be new access making it easier for vehicles. The village is beautiful, three pubs all different in style. Our preference was the Bluebell, roaring fire, plenty of friendly people and dogs. There is a public pathway through the camping field that needs to be maintained-two gates on either side mark the way, so don't pitch in front of either. We saw one poor lady camper being berated for doing just that by a local female and she even took their registration number! All in all, this couldn't be a more beautiful place to camp and we look forward to going back next year.

Just returned from kettlewell and with luck there will still be camping in Kettlewell next year but by the end of October that's it for the present site location due to the owner retiring. Theres an intention to relocate to a field not far from the bottom field but some In the village don't want this so this could be the last season of camping in Kettlewell. If it does get the go a head I just hope they steer clear of EHU WIFI etc as this would ruin what is a very peace full place. This is a true walkers site and should be treated as such so when they say it's a quiot site it usually is and I just hope any new site will try to keep to this ideal. Fold farm is or was what It was a very simple and beautiful site. I just hope it's still possible to camp at kettlewell in years to come but I fear it maybe on a more commercial site.

Spent a weekend in this delightful village. The site is in the village itself, only a few minutes walk from the pubs, tearooms and shops.
The location is stunning; set in the dale with fells rising at both sides. It also seems well sheltered where we were pitched by the wall - we could hear the wind and see the trees swaying, but it hardly touched the tent.
However, we were not protected from the rain! The site soon became very muddy and waterlogged, but then there had apparently been excessive rainfall in this part of the dales this summer.
As others have commented, the facilities are basic, consisting of 2 toilets, 2 showers and 2 sinks. Only one sink has hot water. The showers cost 20p for 2 minutes.
These are all in the same outbuilding and are unisex - much to my daughter's dismay! When we arrived at the site we considered these adequate for the 10 or so tents. However, when we returned later and saw that the site was full I knew we'd have to queue.
In my opinion, tents were far too close to each other - our neighbours had pitched less than a metre away and we could hear every word! You can also hear the church bells chime the quarter hour at all hours of day and night as the site is next door to the church & graveyard.
Although the site slopes considerably, flat pitches can be found. And as it is a no frills site it is relatively cheap. We paid £10 per night (£6 adult, £2 child, £2 car).
We were there during the Kettlewell scarecrow festival, which was charming and you have to be amazed at the effort people put into their creations.
It's a lovely village in which to relax and unwind, or good base for Wharfedale walking. We enjoyed a meal in the Racehorse Hotel and afternoon tea in the village hall. And the quirky model village underneath the well-stocked village shop is worth a look.
Whilst in the area, we visited Aysgarth Falls and the Forbidden Corner - a bizarre creation of tunnels and fantasy landscaping, which my daughter loved (you need to book to visit).
If you enjoy luxurious facilities, this site is not for you. However, we would return to explore more of this fabulous area, especially if the weather forecast was good!

This is a very nice campsite in a beautiful area. The price is quite competitive with other sites at the moment.
The toilet block is perhaps a little on the small side as it only has two toilets and two showers although they were clean and the showers were nice and hot. There are also two sinks which you can wash in or use for dish washing.
The limited facilities did unfortunately cause a few problems over the weekend as the campsite filled up and there was a lot of queuing and waiting for all amenities.
I think more toilets/showers could be provided especially as it is quite a large site and I believe there are two fields and only one was occupied over the weekend.
It's a little confusing where you need to book in too although the proprietor did say they were going to put a sign up. The site is ideal if you want to go walking and there are also three very nice pubs in the village which are each very different.
The local shop is very handy and the staff were very friendly. We would definitely go to this site again, but not over a weekend or during the school holidays as they just can't cater for large crowds.
