Despite the efforts of Storm Gertrude we had a very pleasant evening at this campsite. Not surprisingly we were the only campers and had a choice of pitches though all have good views of the beach and the Summer Isles.
The toilet block is immaculate and has lots of nice touches eg. Soap dispensers at child height as well as adult. Showers are roomy and the water hot.
The owners run the bar beside the campsite and cook fresh local produce. The scallops were delicious and there are vegetarian options available.
The area is outstanding. Remote, wild and mountainous with the Highland Geopark to explore as an added incentive. There is an excellent bookshop at the Ceilidh Place in Ullapool and the best pies in Scotland are made in Lochinver.

An incredible journey to get here - we were often driving for miles thinking 'is this the right way?' but eventually we reached our destination.
The weather was, in all honesty, horrendous. The wind was ferocious and took your breath away, however it made the location even more spectacular as large waves broke over the rocks in the bay and I can imagine that on a nice day the scenery is equally stunning.
The facilities were excellent - lovely and warm and great showers. The washing up area was inside as well, and the free wifi worked brilliantly for letting family known we hadn't been blown away! They even had a few tables and chairs to sit at inside which allow you to look out to sea through the huge wall of glass. I imagine in good weather it's a bit of a sun-trap!
The pub at the top of the site was also nice, but despite the campsite allowing dogs the pub doesn't - not even in the bar. Fortunately they offered a selection of takeaway food which we ate in the van and the fish and chips were excellent.
The remoteness of the site is lovely, but it really was a long way from anything and it was a shame we couldn't take our dog in to the bar. Despite the amazing view out to sea and the great facilities we decided to leave early and head back inland to find somewhere a little more sheltered where we weren't confined to the van.
A nice site, well laid out but not ideal if you're travelling with a four-legged friend. In bad weather there really isn't much to do other than visit the bar, but it's definitely an escape from the rest of the world!

The views driving along the single track road (20+ miles) were probably the best I have ever seen, especially coming back! I should say don't be put off by the road, vehicles over 26' aren't allowed. Our motorhome is 24' and it was fine.
A nice greeting from Catriona when we got there. Nice view from our pitch across the little beach. Amazing facilities block, all brand new and spotless. I assume this is why the site was dearer than any of the CC sites we stayed in (£21)
The only criticism I could make is that there was nowhere to walk our dogs except up and down the road. There were sheep everywhere, including the beach - but that is the nature of the local environment. No-one's fault.

This was our second visit to this site in one of my favourite areas of Scotland. The drive to this site from Ullapool is fantastic, and the views from the campsite across to the Summer Isles are lovely. It has only been half full each time we have been so there were no queues for the showers, but we were queuing to use the washing machine and dryer this time.
The shower/toilet block is modern, with free showers and was cleaned each day. There is also a washing machine, a dryer and a fridge. 2 electric sockets allow for a quick charge of mobiles etc. A couple of tables and chairs in the foyer were useful whilst using the Free wifi, which you can only get inside the block.
We went to the Am Fuaran Bar (the owners run the campsite too) and were lucky to get a table (booking advisable!), although I didn't think the food was as amazing as last time and was a bit pricey.

We camped for 2 nights here in May 2015. The views are fabulous, over the Summer Isles.
The facilities are quite exceptionally good.
There is a food shop 4. 5 miles to the South in Achiltibuie.
Lots of pitches to choose from.
The pub is just opposite the entrance to the site, serving all normal pub stuff.
Just a fantastic place to stay.

I visited this site in the midst of very bad weather. Even being virtually empty I was warmly greeted by the owners who ensured every facility was available for my use.
Very modern amenities, plentiful toilets, basins, showers, in a glass fronted building with a lovely outlook. The pitches are in a superb position with all facilities.
The Am Furuan bar opposite sells good food and beer. The visitor to port a bhaigh would want for nothing and all delivered with highland hospitality. Totally beautiful. I cannot fault it.

Arrived here ready for the break we had been desperate for. The site was great, sitting just back from the beach, in a cove. The views were stunning across the sea and the hills forming a wonderful backdrop. Wife and daughter chose to relax at the site for most of the three days, whilst I took advantage of the walking, which did not disappoint.
The site is clean and the shower/toilet facilities were first rate. The hotel immediately behind the site provided a great venue for the evening. Some nice ales, wines and a good standard of food. We would definitely head back again.

A very good site for users, including good facilities, and a great outlook. However it is a bit of a blot on the landscape, and has an unsympathetic over engineered concrete access track. (It's not completely on its own in this respect as there a number of inappropriate developments ( particularly mobile cabins) popping up over several places in the NW highlands. ) The site fees are also excessive, particularly during the low season.

Beautiful location accessed by single track roads. Peaceful site overlooking shingle beach with access direct from site. Good clean amenities block with washing up and laundry facilities. Small area in entrance area with table and chairs is best area for wifi. Pub at top of drive into site. Good food. Nearest shop in Achiltibuie. We have now had 2 stays here for about a week each visit. Thoroughly relaxing. Lovely location in the middle of nowhere with good amenity block and pub with good food across the road.

Fantastic location and well worth the long and narrow road you need to travel on. Overlooks a sheltered bay ideal for kayaking around. Great views. Pretty quiet and peaceful site. Choose your own pitch. New and good quality shower block but could've been cleaned more often. Wifi only available in shower block. Nice pub at the top of the drive but food very expensive - nice though!
