We have just enjoyed a lovely 4 night break at Folly Hall Farm. What a lovely little site and what a lovely man Terry is! He could not have been more helpful.
The site is just big enough without seeming commercialised. Our 8 year old daughter loved playing in the middle with the children staying in a tent next door.
The site is situated in a rural location on the moor but is within close enough proximity to Whitby, Runswick Bay and Staithes, we visited all three and although the weather could have been better we had a great time.
We had a meal at the pub in Uggthorpe and the portions had us beat - which is not the norm for our family.
The shower and toilet facilities were very good, constant hot water and no charge for the showers. There was also a freezer available for campers which is a nice touch.
We will be back soon!

Just got back from our 2 night stay here on our 1st camping trip and I must say what a fantastic camp site this is.
Terry makes you feel more than welcome and cant do enough for you (even when we turned up with the biggest tent ever), he gave us an information pack with details of things to do and local pubs, places to eat etc.
The facilities on site were clean and always stocked up with toilet rolls, the showers were lovely and warm.
The pitches were neat and tidy and well maintained. Could let kids run around and play in middle of all tents and was very quiet on a night no noise heard at all,
Overall very very pleased with this camp site cannot wait to come back. Would highly recommend this site to anyone families included.

This was a first time camp for my wife, our Jack Russell and I and we were both very happy with our experience. Terry is a most polite, enthusiastic and welcoming host.
The site itself is around a quarter of a mile off the main road and is idyllic. The main road can (only just) be seen but barely heard. The field of pitches was neatly mown, with a hedge border and around 14 or 15 pegs. Although we didn't use one, electrical hook ups were available. Our pitch was £15 per night.
As the field was still a little damp we were asked to park by the gate after unloading- only a few yards away and not a problem. To be honest, I preferred doing that anyway.
The shower block was always superbly clean and had hot water from the power shower. There was also an extra block which Terry opened when it got a little busier.
There is a very efficient freezer which is good for ice packs etc. And 2 washing up areas. Terry also let us dry out our soaking boots by his Aga overnight!
The local area is great- the butchers in Glaisdale is excellent (open til 5) with wonderful burgers, sausages etc. We also had
A very good meal at the Board Inn in Lealholm (mains £12-18 and very filling!) A day on the steam train from Grosmont to Pickering was also an enjoyable day out an all day ticket was £17 each.
To summarise, this is a nice location with pleasant facilities made all the better by Terry's warm and friendly welcome. Would I go again? Definitely. Could I recommend it? Certainly.

This was our second visit to Terry's Farm. We were the first to arrive this year due to bad weather saturating the fields all year until now.
We had a lovely welcome from Terry, who remembered us from last year. He was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. He very kindly helped us put up the tent, whilst also giving us information on lovely places to visit along with a very helpful information pack.
While we were there he also loaned out, chairs and a blow up mattress to a family who came ill prepared (what a lovely man) rather than see them struggle.
The site is very secure and Terry makes his presence know through out the day, which makes you feel safe leaving tents and belongings as you tour about the area.
We found the facilities to be very clean and tidy, with the added new wash-up area inside and extra shower and toilet block for busy times.
A lovely man and a biker to boot.
Terry mentioned maybe doing a bike rally for bike clubs on one weekend a month including a hog roast supper but this is still in the pipeline.
This site is a good base to see the local coastal towns and moors.
Basically just a lovely place to chill out.

Our first visit to this wonderful place. We did arrive on a rainy Sunday morning from the ferry in Hull. Terry was expecting us and gave us a warm welcome. He was very friendly and helpful and told us all about the interesting places in the neighbourhood.
The site is ideally placed for exploring the area either by car or on foot. We visited beautiful villages and harbours like Staithes and Runswick Bay. From the camping site you can enjoy the wonderful horizon of the Lealholm Moors and Beacon Hill. Walking through the moors we heard and saw the curlew and peewit together with lark and meadow pipit singing in the morning. Making a short walk from the site we met a deer in the moors.
There is a regular bus stop not far from the site.
The facilities are well kept, clean and well stocked. Terry has fine fresh eggs from his own chickens.
We had in mind to stay for 7 nights but we made it 10.

This is the first time we had been in a tent and also to this camp site. The weather was stormy and raining at times but this did not put us off. We enjoyed the holiday very much.
Terry was very welcoming on arrival and during the stay. He explained everything very clearly and gave us a handout with places of interest, including eating out.
All the facilities were clean and the showers were lovely and hot. The field was immaculate and well maintained with plenty of room in the middle for children to play.
This is a friendly, family orientated site and we will be back.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at this site and already looking at when we will be able to return!
The weather while we were there was cloudy and raining but that didn't stop us from enjoying the surrounding areas from drives to Whitby and Bridlington to walks straight from our tent through the stunning countryside.
The facilities on the site were very nice and always kept spotless, we never had any issues with waiting for toilets or showers.
The owner of the site Terry was excellent from our warm welcome to even baring the rain to help us pack up on our last day, he also is very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas so can direct you on some lovely walks and places to visit.
We would definitely recommend this site and we are really looking forward to our next visit.

Very quiet site. Excellent views. Campsite toilets and showers were very very clean (there is only one shower for the males so there might be the occasional queue).
The womens block had two toilets and two showers. Terry (the owner) is very friendly and helpful. Whitby is a short drive away. Very family friendly because the pitches are around the edge of the field leaving a play-space in the middle.
Woke up each morning to the sound of an extremely vocal Cuckoo. The only other noise was the sound of the local cattle. It was cloudy when we were there but I would imagine the stars at night would be a sight to behold. I would recommend this site to anyone.

Our second visit to this wonderful site. This time for 8 nights which went far too quick! Terry ensures you get a warm welcome with all the help you could ask for.
All facilities are well kept, clean and well stocked.
The site is ideally placed for exploring the area either by car or on foot and your never too far from a warm welcome at the Black Bull in Ugthorpe. Lovely pub with a warm atmosphere.
If you want a quiet, well kept site and you want to be sure of a warm welcome and all the help you could ask for then this is the site for you.
Roll on spring so we can return.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this very peaceful site in a lovely rural location.
The owner, Terry was great! We managed to forget both firelighters and dry matches in order to light our bbq and Terry was over within a couple of minutes bringing both and even got the bbq lit for us! Friendly service you don't get everywhere!
Loved the surrounding areas, especially Sandsend & Runswick Bay beaches, our dachshunds loved it here too! Whitby is also great but extremely busy, wouldn't attempt to go here again on a Saturday!
Facilities were fine, but if we had one suggestion it may be that the 1 toilet/shower for each sex might not be enough. Wasn't a problem for us as the site was relatively quiet, but at busier times this could be an issue.
Overall though, we would thoroughly recommend this site and hope to return again soon.
