Firstly thanks to Terry and Jan (owners), very friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Our break away was whit week, we arrived on a wet sad day but to our rescue Terry was very helpful and gave us advice of nearby places to visit.
The campsite is situated on a working farm. At the moment the site is basic but all that you would need. The toilets and showers are exceptionally clean. We enjoyed ourselves and there are lots that we could mention but will keep it short and sweet.
The weather did get better (windy tho!) and we did visit Runswick Bay. I loved the bay very picturesque and would love to live there it is gorgeous.
Close by is sandsend which is more commercialised but still worth a visit. If you like a drink, and in walking distance, is Ugthorpe Hotel, nice welcoming drink late afternoon and you can take your dog in the bar!
If you want a fantastic meal with all the trimmings, friendly staff and cosy environment we recommend the Black Bull at Ugthorpe, fantastic menu and you wont be able to walk home , lots of food and great value. We will be back.

I went to this campsite as a group of 8 from Nottinghamshire and I was very pleasantly surprised.
The campsite was small which we had expected but it had all of the commodities that we were expecting within a portable cabin inside the barn. It looked very newly refurbished and the facilities were top notch.
The owner (Terry) himself was very very nice and his dog Jeff was really fun and loved attention.
During one of our evenings whilst setting up our barbecue it started to rain heavily and Terry came out to ask if we wanted to set it all up in the barn, he also asked if we would like some more chairs and we had an evening within the barn, this was really nice of him and he didn't have to do it.
The location is out of the way but brilliant for discovering the North Yorkshire Moors, generally the closest place to eat out is the Black Bull, a pub that at first glance at the prices seems more expensive than we are used to paying however when we realised the large size of the portions we were very pleased with it.
I will very much like to come back here in the future!

Just stayed for 3 nights at this great little campsite, originally booked for 2 but even in the pouring rain we had such a lovely time we stayed for a third. If you are after a quiet, clean and friendly little campsite with access to North York Moors and the coast, then this site is ideal.
The facilities were always clean and tidy and the location was great for us; Runswick about 15 minutes drive (brilliant beach and ice cream shop), Whitby (beach and Fish and Chips!) and the North York Moors are on the doorstep - kids loved the Nature trail at the visitors centre in Danby.
Even although this was a bank holiday weekend the site did not feel crowded, there was still plenty of room and the kids loved the open space in the middle to play.
Terry and Jan could not have been more helpful from the moment we booked, always on hand to help and offer advice and nothing was too much trouble. Overall, a great little site and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
The facilities are perfectly adequate and the toilet/wash facilities were always kept clean. Terry gave us good advice of the surrounding area, for walks, food and drink.
We walked to Lealholm one day and around the reservoir the next. Plenty room in the central area for children to play.
We intend to return and next time we will have a better understanding of the area and venture further.

Lovely small quiet campsite attached to a farm. The owners were incredibly helpful and friendly even providing mobile numbers in case we needed them in the middle of the night!
Beautiful views and very close to Runswick Bay and Sandsend.
There is a block with two compartments each with a toilet sink and shower. Maybe could make one of the toilet / showers male and one female as they are unisex at present?
Owners told us they are planning to expand the site to give the campers more space but as it was we had plenty of room. Would definitely recommend.

Booked at this campsite for initially two nights and had such a wonderful time were stayed for an extra one just before the Easter bank holiday.
Terry was very helpful sorting the electrics out as we were the first with tents to use the site. We took our two children and dog who had plenty of space to play and burn off steam. The facilities were always clean and tidy with enough hot water for all.
Terry gave us some local information which proved very useful; the walk around the Dam (3.5mile circular) was good but must say that the pub is closed at mid day if you plan on a drink once you have finished; also visited Danby, a lovely little place with visitors centre, child play area and walks.
We hope to visit the site again and already recommended it to our camping friends.

Stayed for only 2 nights at this little gem of a campsite! Superbly located for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors and surrounding areas. Close enough to enjoy Whitby without the crowds.
A good site if you have children, plenty of space for them to play, yet enough space for peace and quiet! Nothing was too much trouble for Terry and Jan who supplied us with a guide to local eateries and attractions when we arrived.
Facilities were always kept clean with plenty of hot water and toilet roll too! Will definitely be back for a longer stay next time!
