Pretty site with lots of trees very near the beach and Penzance town. Friendly owners, pitch where you like, fires allowed, Tesco next door, great access links to beaches, Lands End, St Ives etc. Great open air Jubilee pool nearby (which was shut after storm damage but is being repaired for 2015 hopefully. )

Drawbacks - main road A30 next door, and a train line. Not that they bothered us as we pitched away from it, but it wasn't pin drop quiet. Tesco next door was a bonus until they started bin emptying at night. Facilities in need of an upgrade and no hot water for washing up though this may have been temporary.

All in all for the price it served its purpose but would look for somewhere more off the beaten track if we returned to the area. Lots of single campers (some without cars) or couples on bike holidays as easy access to transport links.

Enjoyed our stay, thank you.

If you are looking for cheep and cheerful you will not get better than this campsite. The lady who deals with emails & phone calls responders very quickly to them. Then you meet the other owner who is great fun. You can pitch your tent anywhere on the site and allow for a campfire. You can buy a bag of logs from Roger for £3. 50 very reasonable.

The showers and loos are basic but clean &tidy. There is also 2plug sockets in them so you can charge phones or cameras ect. Also a chest freezer outside which you can use to store anything but with tescos a 5min stoll away shopping is not a problem as its 24 hr.

The site is next to a main road but this was not a problem as its very safe to cross and straight onto a safe beach for children & dogs. Ideal for walkers very flat and easy to Marazion & Penzance. So it's a good site for everyone weather is just 1 night or 2weeks.

We have stayed in many sites all over but this has to have been the best for a warm welcome start to finish. We had a fantastic time and will certainly go back try it for your selves you won't be disappointed

 Excellent

From the moment we arrived, the owners were very friendly and helpful. Shower block was clean and tidy.

Central location, with easy access to st Ives and lands end. Walking distance to Penzance.

Tesco's is right next to the field, and sainsburys about 5 minutes walk away.

Campfires are allowed, which my children loved roasting marshmallows on.

Will definitely visit again. 😀

 Excellent.

Cheap and cheerful, showers and toilets very clean always with hot water.

Sink to wash up, tap for water, electric hookups, dog friendly, campfires encouraged and picnic benches scattered around to use.

2 minute walk to 24 hour Tesco, 5 minutes to the beach and 15 minute walk to Penzance town.

The guy on site is very helpful and comes around every hour at least in case you need anything. He will leave you a sack of firewood, kindling and newspaper for £3. 50 and he let me use his hookup cable which was longer than mine so I could camp in the sun.

Only downside would be there are limited hookups but that's a luxury I can ultimately do without if needs be.

From the initial booking over the phone through the whole stay the owners of this campsite where incredibly friendly, as non drivers the Campsite was perfect, with a ten minute walk from the train and bus station and central Penzance, with a large 24hr Tesco's 3minutes walk away, meaning we didn't have to lug any food and supplies with us.

The Campsite itself very well looked after with plenty of room, the toilet and shower facilities were very clean with HOT WATER :) and facilities to charge up electrical items at no extra cost.

The campsite allows campfires and there are wild peacocks roaming around which were a pleasure to see.

The price was great at £6 per person for a night.

We will most definitely stay here again.

This was our first time in Cornwall and choosing this site was central to what we wanted to see.

You can see St Michaels mount from the site, Lands end and St Ives are just a short drive away.

The site was just what we wanted, quiet laid back with all the facilities we needed, clean toilet block with hot showers and a freezer.

Close by the site there are 3 major Supermarkets a McDonalds and a KFC

Only thing it lacked was a kids playground but you cant have everything I guess.

The owners were great and always very helpful.

We enjoyed our stay in Cornwall at Ponsandane.

I phoned on spec, as with all sites on our tour, and the lady on the phone was extremely helpful and friendly and told me there were plenty of pitches and to just turn up and they would come find us for the fees.

We did just that and after the rather narrow entrance road we were faced with a massive field with a large facilities block. The field is flat in parts but around the edges does slope, but if you want the shade and shelter of the trees then the slopey pitches may be better for you.

We opted to pitch at the far end to the entrance, nearer the road, which to be fair was constant car noise all day and most of the evening - but we did choose the pitch for that very reason, so we could be a bit noiser, play games, etc without disturbing anyone. It cost us £21 per night for 2 adults, 1 child and dog, which considering the location is fantastic value.

Facilities consist of 2 showers and four toilets for ladies and the same for men but urinals too. There was a fresh water tap by the facilities block and they even installed a freezer whilst we were there. There were also putting in electric hookups during our stay and these were down nearer the end of the field by the road.

The site is right by the main road but it did not bother us, it quietened down by 11pm and to be fair we just turned up the music a bit and talked a bit louder until the car noise ceased. Being right by the road means that the access to local areas is simple.

From the site we visited Marazion, St Michaels Mount, Newlyn, the Minack Theatre, Lands End and St Ives is only a short drive away too. You could base yourself here for a few days and still not see all the attractions.

The walk into Penzance itself took about 15 minutes along the road side, you could walk the other way initially and cross the railway foot bridge and then walk along the promenade into Penzance.

Penzance has a lot of the normal high street stores, restaurants and also lots of cool independent shops, eateries, etc.

The harbour is lovely with many boasts bobbing about to sit and watch whilst munching on an ice cream or supping a drink.

The beach stretches on for a long way, but we did not go on the beach so cannot comment on how sandy, stony, etc, it is.

Overall a great site, great value and one I would recommend and come back to if in the area.

Really friendly and helpful owner, always on hand, site was located in a location that allows good access to the train station, 24hr Tesco (2mins walk away), walking distance to Penzanze and great walks along the coast path to Marazion and Mousehole.

The toilets and washing up facilities were basic but very functional. The unique thing with this campsite is that it allows open campsite fires and BBQ's which adds to a proper camping experience, owner sells firewood whcih is a great help.

All in all, a great campsite for exploring the Cornish countryside and beaches, well worth visiting Porthcurno. Found a great pastie shop in Hayle (Philps). Had a great week of family camping.

This is a lovely site with very helpful owners, we arrived to be met by the farmer who made us most welcome. We only stayed one night at first due to us visiting the Scilly isles for a week. The farmer willingly transported us to the boat, allowed us to leave our car etc at the site and then was waiting to pick us up the following week. The site is kept clean and the toilet and shower blocks are cleaned daily. Campfires are welcome with everything needed supplied by the farmer! This site is good friendly and excellent value. Be back next year.

Ponsandane Camp Site, is the best camp site we have camped at. The site is very well kept, The toilet and shower facilities are great, always kept immaculately clean and soaps and toilet rolls replaced always. The site allows camp fires, which made our camping trip very memorable as a family. Located close to the beach, shops, local services, pubs and restaurants, take away outlets and coastal path to the oldest Cornish Village of Marazion and St Michael's Mount, accessible by a causeway or by boat when the tide is high. From the campsite Penzance is only 1 mile walking distance, a 15 minute walk at a steady pace. Local bus services and train services are close by and regular. There is a local open top bus service that runs along the coast which stops close by, and train station at Penzance. We found a great taxi service from Penzance (Malcolm's Taxi. )All in all we had an amazing camping holiday at Ponsandane Campsite, the owner Roger was just outstanding, he even went out of his way to help us take our son to hospital when an insect bite turned septic. We will be back as soon as we can next year. Lovely site lovely people!
