A delightful site well maintained, clean and friendly. The location is perfect for us near to the beach we love and a pub within 3 minutes walk. A brilliant breakfast is served up in the mornings for those who can't be bothered to make it and eggs are on sale. The owners are present but not breathing down your neck all the time. A few common sense rules on display but not overbearing. I liked the provision of a freezer for ice packs. Showers operated by token mean the queues don't get too long.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this campsite this week for 3 nights. We stayed mainly due to its location, wanting to be in wales but not too far drive from home (Berkshire). The first thing we thought was the campsite could really do with a sign saying it is the campsite, we just took a chance it was this field and ask a man (who turned out to be the owner) is this the campsite…. Turns out the bins were in front of the sign but still a very small sign a bit odd!
The campsite was lovely only 4 pitches in use over the week so very quiet and lots of space, could be a bit crowded if busier.
The utility area was lovely 2 nice clean sinks in a hut with a deep freezer you were welcome to use, no over heating cool box the showers were lovely and clean but only 2 showers 2 sinks and 2 loos for the females not really enough if all 30 pitches were used… they were cleaned always and always loo roll, though someone did leave their stuff in the shower the whole time, thought this could have been removed not really acceptable…
You had to pay 50p for a 5 minute shower, which I’m presuming is to stop people hogging the showers, which I’m not against at all, but would much rather spend 10p per minuet as I don’t spend 5 minuets in the shower but after a hot day walking might want a quick shower in the evening kind of annoying spending a £1 for 4 minuets in the shower….
The owners were absolutely lovely and couldn’t do enough to help, the only downside is the reception was not open a lot at all and there were no set hours, they sold eggs which we wanted one morning but after waiting outside reception for 15 minuets gave up. Same with the firepits they rented in the evening often wouldn’t see the owner until 9ish when he went to walk his dog by which time it was to late so we didn’t…. Also people turned up very confused maybe a bell on reception connecting to their house for arrivals….
Absolutely loved the week the only thing that would stop me from returning was the beach. It was not an easy walk at all, either across farmers field or down a rocky path not friendly for anything less than trainers/walking boots which you don’t expect to pack when going on a relaxing few days away also need a rucksack not shoulder bag it was very rocky….
Had a lovely few days though visisted Cardiff Barry and had a local walk, only problem was the rocky beaches!

Wonderful site. The owners can't do enough to help. Gets busy at the weekends but we were there for a week and only four tents mid week so we had lots of room. Showers and toilets were exceptionally clean.
Lovely beach a short walk away. A hidden gem. We had not visited this area before and were delighted. Brilliant idea that breakfast is available at the weekends, especially when trying to pack your tent away. Will be back!

Friendly, clean site in a beautiful part of the country.
We have only just unpacked from visiting this site but couldn't wait to say how much we enjoyed it. For a family group of five including two children under six it was perfect: clean and well-lit toilet block, comfortable sized pitches, a friendly and helpful welcome from the owners.
Fire baskets to keep warm in the evenings, a beautiful river walk down to a secluded beach, a very picturesque and tranquil location ideal for mini breaks. Only a short walk to the local pub that does great food.
Highly recommended!

We really love Monk Nash and found this campsite perfectly situated. The owners are really helpful and friendly. The toilet block and showers were new and very clean and it's great idea to serve bacon rolls in the morning!
The only real negative for us was the lack of space between tents. I know this may be a common feature of lots of campsites in the uk. When we were there the site was a narrow field with tents in a line either side of central lane for car access. I was woken by a baby crying several times in the night and kept awake by someone in another tent snoring!
This also meant we were a bit unsure about the open fires. Great that people can light fires on the campsite but with tents so close together you may end up with smoke ( or even sparks) from a neighbouring tents blowing your way. Your things can smell quite smokey by the morning.
It would be nice to have a dog on leads policy. We felt a bit vulnerable with a small child and dogs running freely.
Overall though we can see the owners are making a go of this place. It is clean and welcoming and in a very beautiful location.

What a gem of a site! really friendly and well organised, not too many tents allowed so perfect for families and those looking for a quiet getaway. Toilets and showers were clean and particularly liked the sparkly disco walls in the ladies! no play area for the kids but no need of it really - plenty of open space for cricket and football. Firepits provided which is a great idea. A pleasant walk to the local pub and beach. Will definitely return!

A lovely little site in a great location. The shower/toilets are in a new building which is almost finished, only a few finishing touches to be done (mirrors/loo roll holders). The washroom is clean and tidy, with a chest freezer in to keep your freezer blocks frozen. The owners of the site are great, and cannot do enough to ensure your stay is a good one. The breakfast rolls are a great idea, and are highly recommended. The short stroll down to the beach is well worth the effort, it's a scenic stroll and our kids loved playing in the little stream. Our kids loved toasting their marshmallows over the campfire after a day of playing in the paddock, searching for crabs down the beach or going on a walk over to Nash Point with our kite. All in all, if you are looking for a quiet break away in a nice location then this site ticks all the boxes. We will definitely use this site again.
The pub up the lane is well worth a visit, we didn't eat there but the food did look nice and was quite reasonable.

This campsite is a hidden gem! A relatively new site, the toilet block had just been finished as we arrived! The owners are always on hand to help with anything and were always on hand making rounds twice a day.
The toilets were cleaned twice a day by the owners. The village pub was beautiful and fairly reasonably priced considering where you are and just a short walk up the road from the campsite.
The location of the campsite was brilliant. A short walk to the bus stop which could take you a short walk away from the train station in Bridgend.
One thing is the website needs updating as we couldn't see that the showers would cost us as they use tokens and I believe still says that planning permission is being processed for the toilet block.
Just a short 10-15 minute walk away from the fantastic beach through a lovely wood with the stream running through it.

This is a lovely campsite and has the potential to be excellent.
It had just opened as a permanent site over the Whitsun Bank Holiday weekend and it was pretty full. There were a few teething problems but I'm positive these will be sorted out by the owners as they were very accommodating and helpful. They even serve up breakfast baps which, although we didn't have any, it's a great idea!
They have just had a permanent toilet and shower block built and they're kept very clean and tidy. However, the toilets are a little slow on the flushing side and the flush is not very powerful so it may take 2 or 3 flushes to get rid of toilet paper. The showers are adequate but the price is quite steep at £1 per token which lasts for 5 minutes! Time-wise, that's probably OK for men, kids and people with short hair but if you have longer or thicker hair that requires conditioner then you're looking at £2 which is a bit too much in my opinion. Be warned - Make sure you've stripped naked first and are ready to shower before putting your money in! One poor lady put her money in first before she was undressed and the shower came on. Don't think she got much of a shower by the time she'd undressed! The other downside to the showers is you have to step out of the cubicle to put your money in which may be slightly embarrassing if there's a young child in the room staring at your nether regions with curiosity!
Otherwise, It's a great spot for a campsite and the views were fantastic. It's situated in a lovely quiet spot and caters for tents only.
There's a really nice pub just up the lane that serves meals and the staff are really friendly and helpful.
We will definitely return if we're in the area again.
Note to owners:
I hope the owners will see this review and adjust the shower price accordingly! 50p per token may be a fairer price! Also, some hooks or baskets on the shower doors would be a good idea as there's nowhere to put clothes/towels when you're in there!

We stayed at the campsite for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our time!
The site owners were wonderful and always on hand to provide anything we may have needed to make our stay enjoyable! The site was clean and tidy.
We enjoyed the views from the site and the regular trips to the beach which was easily accessible from the site.
Toilets although portable were clean and fine to use. The shower was great and always hot!
Provision of a charging unit for our mobiles was good to have. We were also able to freeze our ice blocks.
