Despite the bad weather our holiday to this site was a great experience. Lovely spaced out pitches.
The toilet and shower block were the best out of all sites we have visited. They were spotless. The family rooms were a great idea.
The people were very friendly and helpful especially when we had a problem with our tent in the gale force winds.
The area is great. Loads to do and with two large supermarkets, Macdonalds, K.F.C. And other shops close by what more could you ask for.
We would return if going back to the area.
Great pub at the end of the road for families which did a fab carvery. Very good value for money.

We have just returned from a 6 night stay here and we WILL be returning. The site is peaceful, lovely and welcoming. We have two children aged 8 and 4 and they loved the field that was kept for ball games. It was lovely to see children playing games and enjoying themselves, even round the tent. The showers were hot, toilets clean and I even saw the attendant refilling toilet rolls every night at 11pm to make sure we had enough to last the night. They had 3 family bathrooms which were great, two washing up sinks and a veg preparation sink. The shop was basic but sold essentials - there are two large supermarkets not far away one 5-10 minutes away. You can freeze Ice Blocks in the shop which is very handy.
The kids loved it when the chip van arrived on Saturday night at 5pm. I have to say it was delicious and well priced - we even went back for seconds. We were not far from Totnes and Paignton meaning we could travel around easily. We went to Becky Falls and Woodlands whilst staying here. We will be booking for next year as we just loved the relaxed feel about the site. There were rabbits running freely about the site and a field with sheep and lambs.

We phoned Friday morning for a large pitch with electric for that day until Monday (Bank Holiday). We were given a lovely pitch right by the toilet facilities and water.
Really peaceful site with loads of room to spread out. Very small shop selling essentials and newspapers. Staff were wonderfully helpful and even though there was a severe weather warning! we had a great time.
Everything is kept clean and tidy and there are proper sized family bathrooms which were a complete bonus. Would highly recommend this site

We booked this site last minute as usual, this site is great. The staff were really helpful, the shop is small but has all the essentials. This site really is a hidden gem. We visited on the bank holiday weekend with our 2 toddlers, the site was busy but still peaceful.
The site has many apple trees and redcurrant bushes, and at night I have never seen a star lit sky like it. The kids loved it when the fish and chip van visited the site, again recommended. This site also has a caretaker amongst the campers if you have any problems. My husband left his watch in the shower and it was returned.
Lovely big pitches, easy access to water, all facilities immaculate. We visisted whilst Dartmouth regatta was on, we got great views of the Red Arrows and Eurofighter practicing their display over the rolling hills around us. The cafe on the river at Stoke Gabriel is a nice walk/cycle away with great crabbing. Sainsburys is 5 mins drive away down some back lanes or Morrisons is near the zoo. A great peaceful base in a central location.

Wonderful site, very laid back and friendly owners. We could park anywhere we liked. Lovely countryside views, Good facilities, large shower cubicles, all kept nice and clean and heated. They had a small shop for basics, if you wanted a paper you have to order, they also freeze your ice blocks for free. Stoke Gabriel is about a 25 minute walk from the site, turn left out of the gate and walk down the hill, turn right before the bridge and walk along the lane, it takes you past the mill pond and then on to Stoke Gabriel. In Stoke Gabriel there are two pubs, I recommend the Castle, reasonably priced food and always sells local real ales. They have a Post Office and grocers. A bus runs in to Paignton, you can catch it at the top of the road, just turn right out of the site gate, two minute walk. An all this for just 8 pounds a night including electric, awning and a dog. Will definitely be going back again.

What a lovely little site, very well spaced pitches, fantastic toilet/laundry block in main field, with 4 family bathrooms which were well equipped with free hairdryers, plenty of hanging room for clothes and somewhere to sit. When we arrived there had been a considerable amount of rain but the site stayed well drained and not a mud bath. There were rabbits everywhere at dawn and dusk. Stoke Gabriel is very picturesque and is easy to get to by bike or on foot but there is a copious amount of hills to climb on the way back, although it is only about a mile away, take a crab line for the children the crabs come out 3 or 4 at a time! There is a bus stop at the top of the lane (1 minute walk) which has a frequent bus service to Paignton/Totnes/Torquay etc. Paignton is only 1 1/2 miles away. The site has no clubs or play areas, just lovely big open fields and is very peaceful. We will be returning.

Overall a very nice clean site friendly and is well drained after all the bad weather. Toilets very nice kept clean just one thing they could do with more than 3 toilets in gents as they were always full. But overall very nice and would return again what a bargain at 8pounds a night including electric. Very handy for torquay and paignton and supermarkets in close area. The pitches were large and plenty of open spaces with lovely views across the hills. We hope to go again next year.

Having spent the last three holidays at this site.We found the site to be extremely peace full and quiet, due to no bar on site. This seems to keep the noisy ones on other sites! Shower block and toilets are to be highly recommended, and are kept very clean. As is the whole site! I think this site tends to draw the more original family campers. The freedom to pitch where you like, and not in allotted areas,is a great asset to this site. We will be going this year!

I only used this site for 3 nights but we were immediately impressed by its quiet and peaceful situation and the hospitality offered. The facilities were first class although on our last day there (the start of a bank holiday) when the site filled up we found the hot water ran out and there is limited pleasure in having cold showers!
On the whole however, a quiet lovely site.

We have been staying at this site for approx 15 years on and off. Its a very quiet and secluded site and has excellent shower & toilet facilities which are very clean. There are NO bars, swimming pools etc, just a very small shop for the essentials. If you want bars and entertainment do not go here! But if you want peace and quiet its the place to go.
