Now we are home I would like to let you know that there are a few changes the toilet block has been total updated and the kids park is being up dated,
The staff are still as friendly as the first time we went to this site, the place is always clean and after being back 4 years in a row we are still liking the place.
Fishing was not too bad this year we put 3 nice trout on the BBQ Tavistock still looks like it could do with another super market just too give some more choice, And still more places to visit that we did not get round too

Great facilities and location for exploring Devon, in all its glory, but with a subdued atmosphere.
Although the facilities were truly outstanding, and the staff very friendly, there are an awful lot of restrictions on children playing etc (this did not affect us) and the pitches are marked. Although we could easily fit 'between the markers', the pitches were very cosy, and notwithstanding the restrictions, we were awoken very early by our less than considerate neighbours.
The campsite had a very subdued atmosphere with an almost clinical feel. Not our favourite site by far, but if you are after a site with state-of-the art facilities, this is definitely the site for you.

Just left Harford Bridge after our 7th visit in the last 4 years,'Yes we like this site'. The pitches are big, level with plenty of lush thick grass. The toilets and showers this year are all new, and spotless at all times. There's plenty of room here as they don't pack you in like sardines. This really is a site where you can lay back and relax. Smashing Pub a couple of miles away in Peter Tavy with very good evening menu. Looking forward to going back in 2011.

We have just spent 2 weeks here and its a lovely quiet site, very clean and tidy and a credit to the owners, showers and toilets very clean in a modern block and plenty of hot water
Could do with another toilet shower block on the lower area but I think that's in the pipeline.
A nice modern launderette with everything available
No club room but you can always get your own and make friends
No vodafone signal until you get into Tavistock about 2 miles away
Nice big park area for the kids
They only charge per unit not by person like some
There is plenty to do in the area, and Tavistock has everything you need, even cheap fuel at Morrisons, it takes about half an hour to drive to the centre of Plymouth and 40 Min's to Exeter
Plenty of space for tents and caravans with normal and fully serviced pitches

I love this site - we discovered it last autumn and have been back 5 times now!
The site is situated close to Dartmoor so an ideal place to base yourself if you are exploring the moor. Also not too far from Tavistock for supermarkets etc.
Pitches are a good size and if you ask you can be positioned right on the banks on the river which is just beautiful.
Plenty of space for kids to run around and a good sized play park too.
Toilets are always clean and since this year they have also been revamped making them much nicer than before.
Difficult to find fault with this site - friendly, excellent facilities and even ducks to feed!

Very pretty and picturesque site next to the river with Harford Bridge itself as a backdrop. Easy to find from main road and we were not disturbed by traffic noise.
We were in the 'top field' on pitch 21 which was a riverside pitch, this was perfect for us as had slight sloping 'beach area' down to the river. Similar pitches to this are 17, 28, 29 and 30. In fact I would say pitches 28 & 29 are perfect if you have children as it's really easy access to the river and the water is much shallower here.
No swimming or inflatables in the river though which is a little disappointing if your kids like a supervised splash about. Pitch 1 is right next to Harford Bridge with large pebbled beach area.
The site is very well looked after and the camping fields separated by well planted tree areas giving a feeling of space and character rather than just a plain field. The showers and toilets are immaculate and modern, and plentiful. The hand driers are very posh - at first I thought it was a trouser press!
Small children's playing area with 2 slides, no ball games / football allowed anywhere on the park though which may upset some, but didn't bother us.
Indoor and outdoor washing up areas, laundry room, games room and tv room.
Close to Tavistock - very short drive so handy for groceries, there is a Morrisons on the Plymouth road on the other side of town. We went to the Peter Tavy Inn for lunch, nice food and cheery service but very expensive - we only live 50 minutes away in Devon and the prices are double for eating out. We had a cheese ploughmans, a meat salad, 2 bowls of chips, a coke and a cider and it came to £30!
The Trout & Tipple on the Tavistock road is equally expensive so it must be a 'Dartmoor' thing.
The only gripe for us was the dog exercising area - it's lovely and large and the site states 'you can let your dog run free' in the 4 acre field but there are horses loose in the field which is not ideal with a young boisterous puppy and an owner who is scared of horses! So we couldn't let our dog off the lead. I think if you are going to provide an exercising area it should be for dogs only, as many owners would probably worry about this as you are not sure if the horses are confident sharing their field.
We would definitely return to this site and recommend it to others.

This was our first trip out this year and we went as a large family group with two small children. This wasn't a problem and we were allocated two adjoining pitches near the river.
The site was spacious and didn't appear crowded, even over the bank holiday weekend. Beautifully clean and tidy, with good facilities for washing up, showering and even a small drying room. What struck us was the lack of noise in the evenings, as is sometimes the case on a busy site, but not in this case, thankfully.
There is a playground on the site, though with lots of families this got very busy. There is also a shop which sells the basics should you run out.
As regards location, it is within 5 minutes drive of Tavistock, which we love and there is easy access to the moor. There is a pub in the village, though that is less suited to children so we ventured a little further up the A386 to the Fox and Hounds near Lydford, where we had excellent food in a family friendly atmosphere.
All in all a very good site which we will be visiting again soon.

We booked 3 riverside pitches together with 2 of my sisters and their kids.
The booking process was very friendly.
The pitches were fantastic and were part of a large field. We has a great time on the field playing cricket with other families.
Everything about the site was clean and well laid out.
It was an ideal base for exploring Dartmoor and surrounding towns and villages.
I would recommend this site to anybody.

Not the most welcoming site, I booked over the phone as we were travelling to the site. The lady on the phone was very keen to take my money on credit card instead of waiting until we got there, we were about 30mins away & it was April so no chance of not getting a pitch.
The facilities were great, fabulous very well heated & excellently clean shower & toilet facilities. The washing up & laundry facilities were superb I think they were the best I have experienced. Only complaint is I wish they could have been closer to the pitches.
We would love to visit the site again in the summer when the kids can enjoy the river.
Overall a great site & would recommend.

3rd time back, I liked the pitch first time, so asked for the same pitch and got it, same o same o but its got everything we need. Not as many people this year, even better for us more room. Could do with lick of paint, but still very clean and friendly site,
Still lots to do when weather was bad ( if only you could bank on good weather ) A 30min drive to the nearest beach, and with Plymouth just down the road you don't feel like your in the middle of nowhere
