A lovely site next to a shallow but fast flowing river. The site has large pitches and the full range of showers chemical loo disposal points etc. There are plenty of walks accessible from the site but for shopping or food it is a car journey of approximately ten minutes to Tavistock which is well worth a visit. The owners are friendly and helpful.

We planned to stay 7 nights but that we extended to 10 as the park is excellent. During the first 4/5 days it rained, sometimes V hard, other times just drizzle. Only once was I a little worried that the drainage might not cope but in the end it was excellent. Absolutely no problem. We had a river side pitch which was lots of fun expecially with the river in full flow. Kids enjoyed the playground which is very well designed and has some interesting features. The toilets were excellently maintained and there was always hot water. The Peter Tavy inn up the road is great, food is excellent and the beer not to bad either :) It's close to the moors, so just a short drive and you can enjoy walks of all kinds to suit all abilities. 5 mins down the road is a great Trout farm with a kiddies pool which is jam packed with some very hungry fish :) We caught 3 large trout in 20mins. I must say I was very impressed and will definitely be returning. If I was forced to find a criticism, it would be. Erm. Nope can't think of one.

Ok, so we picked the wettest summer that Britain has seen in living memory - and decided to go camping!
We have just returned from a great week at Harford Bridge, it may have been pouring with rain for five of our seven days, but our spirits were never dampend.
The site itself is a doddle to find, just off the main road, but far enough away to not be bothered by any road noise. The layout of the site is also really good. The top half is populated with statics, with the lower areas laid out for tents, caravans and motorhomes.
We opted for a pitch with EHU, which was conveniently situated between the tennis court (free to use) and the toilet/shower block. Our pitch was also just a stone's throw away from the river, and we had a nice view of the bridge.
There were generous amounts of water points, and recycle areas, and an abundance of picnic benches, that you could move to serve your pitch. (Only a shame that we couldnt make more use of them due to the weather).
The toilet/shower blocks were excellent, with every shower having its own private changing area. We never had to queue, and the water was always at a good temperature. The toilets were always clean, and plenty of toilet paper was always available.
There are both indoor and covered outdoor washing up areas, and again, we never had to queue. There are also washing machines, tumble driers and a freezer for use by campers.
There is a playground area for the children, which seemed very popular, and also a big field opposite the main site for dog walkers.
The shop was very basic, I only went in there once to settle my bill, but this was unimportant as Tavistock is only a short drive away and has a Morrisons and Somerfield supermarket, plus a Co-Op and Spar for "out of hours" essentials.
One other thing worth mentioning, we had almost non-stop rain for pretty much the whole duration of our stay, but the ground was never saturated. Drainage was excellent - this is very important to us, as it always rains when we go camping! :-)
So, this site gets my wholehearted recommendation, I'm sure we will be back again to visit.

I stayed at this campsite on a very, very wet weekend in May so there were very few touring units there and I only got a partial impression of the site. The park seemed very well looked after. The touring area is very attractive with a lot of grass, trees, a pretty bridge spanning the river and good views out. Another good feature was the large number of picnic benches scattered around for personal use. Plenty of toilets and showers of a good standard and all very clean. Good laundry and washing up facilities, I liked it that there was a choice of indoor or outdoor washing up/veg prep sinks. Small children's adventure playground which again looked to be kept in good condition. A small games room and a TV/information room with a useful looking library. Lots of ducks. Things I wasn't so keen on included the large number of statics and the fact that the tents were clearly visible and immediately accessible from the public road running alongside the site. I had a concern about the pitch I had been allocated which was treated dismissively by the senior person in Reception and I was not offered an alternative pitch on the almost empty site - OK my concern might have been baseless but it could have been responded to with more sensitivity. A final point of information is that there is no mobile signal on this site, not something I would bother about normally but it was an issue for me this particular weekend.

Spent 5 nights here on a multi-service pitch over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Pitches were of a generously sized, very well spaced out and very well marked. Grass was well maintained and drained well during the few downpours we endured. Showers are adequate with just enough flow and reasonably hot. There were ques for showers in the mornings, even though the park was nowhere near full. Washing up facilities were good, mostly indoors and some outdoors also. There is an excellent disabled shower room and baby changing facility. Although it was very cold the morning I decided to give our baby a bath, there was no heating on. There is an excellent play-park for children, also a river runs around the rear of the park. The rope swings over the river were very popular with older children. (And brave Dads.!) I cant say the park staff were overly friendly, although the site is well kept and very tidy. There is not really a shop on site, but the park is only about 2 miles out of Tavistock, There is a Morrisons and a number of Spar shops in Tavistock so milk, bread etc are never far away. There is a nice fish n' chip shop / restaurant in Tavistock, and the Harvest Home Pub on the A390 does nice meals. Most people we spoke to praised the site, and to be honest although it rained we did have a good time. 7/10.

Wow what a great site, very busy when we visited as you would expect in August if a site is any good. All facilities were kept very clean at all times no mean achievement when the number of campers was taken into account, well done to to the owners and staff. Very quiet relaxing place (no road noise) with plenty of room even when busy, we like places that let you pitch wherever you like (general camping field). The river area is great, children just seem happy to spend all day in or around the river, if they are happy it makes a good holiday for Mum & Dad too! Some drivers go a little fast raising the dust somewhat. Well worth a visit.

We spent a couple of nights camped by the river earlier in the month. The location and scenery of the site is stunning and all that you can ask of in a campsite. The facilities were very good and the showers were at a perfect level ! Would most definitely stay again but the wife can check us in next time !

Stayed 5 relaxing days on the pitch by the rope swing. Falling to sleep to the sound of the river is so soothing. Found all facilities to be clean, lots of hot water and well lit. Well used children's playground and plenty of grass for games. Lots of big groups of families on the central, general camping areas. There is no shop on the site so need to shop in Tavistock - Morrison's or the market. The pub in Peter Tavy is very good. Dogs are welcome and get a biscuit or two and our 2 meals there were very good. If you don't want to walk up go early as it is a small car park or get a taxi. We were told by several people that the Elephant's Nest in Mary Tavy is also very good but avoid the Trout and Tipple!

We thought this campsite fantastic for children, nice lot of space for them to run around in and a good play area. Plenty of trees for shade but it did get rather chilly in the nights. The river was fun, if VERY cold!, we took a small inflatable boat and the kids had a great time.
The nearest pub, although a bit of a trek, serves excellent food (no it's not cheap but you get what you pay for) and is opposite a children's playground. Only gripe was other people driving a bit too fast once on the site, but that's not a fault of the campsite!

This was our first attempt at caravaning, and the site is truly fantastic! Lots of space, clean facilities and fantastic views. We stayed in the bottom field, next to the leaping trout, kingfisher and rope swing over the river.wow. Got a little bitten by the midgees, but that is our only criticism, and you have to expect it being so close to running water. We will certainly go back to this site for years to come, as it it is a hidden gem.
