Just come back from a weekend at Hawthorn Farm and all I can say that it was great.
Booking in was fast and friendly and the member of staff only charged us for a five person tent,(We have an eight person).
Our pitch (electric)was large and private and there was enough room to pitch up next to our friends.
Each pitch area had its own drinking water supply and rubbish bin area ( Bins emptied every day).
We have three children with bikes and were happy for them to ride and explore the site as people respected the 10mph limit.
The showers were warm at evening time but got cold at peak morning but the two blocks were clean and tidy including the washing up areas.
All washrooms areas had a small carpark area.
The shop was well stocked with all the normal stuff and although we did not eat, the Cafe looked clean.
Would go back again for a longer stay.

A lovely site, very friendly staff, very clean toilets and showers with radio to listen to!
We had a great time here, not many facilities for children, i.E, playgrounds etc, but lots of hidden woodland walks and plenty of room for games!
The tent field is a village of it's own!
We have been here several times and enjoy every visit! Great home cooked food in the shop/restaurant, Sunday dinner highly recommended!
All in all, a great site for general stops or short holiday's!

Huge site, but nicely laid out with hedges and pitches on different levels.
Good facilities, but toilet and shower areas could do with updating. Washing up area always nice and clean with plenty of sinks so even on a busy bank holiday, no waiting.
No play area for children, but lots of little pathways to explore and make friends. A play ground wasn't too far away.
Dog Friendly, with open walks nearby.
Shop that sells basics and small toys to keep the children happy!

Just spent a lovely weekend here. Really easy to find and well sign posted. We loved it and the glorious weather helped I expect
The staff were friendly, the pitches are nice and spacious, toilets and shower blocks were clean and private, even had hairdryers and a radio in there.
Shop had good supplies, never tried any food as we ate / cooked in our caravan. It wasn't full at all when we stayed but I should imagine bank holidays could be busy as it's such a great park.
There is a railway line but trains hardly run and they are not noticeable. Lots of rabbits around lovely to see them hopping about
In all a very well run clean site with everything you could need, going back as soon as we can.

It took us less than 25 minutes from leaving the ferry to be at this site for an overnight stop.
We got an efficient welcome and a quick check in-perfect after a long day. We were given a grass pitch near to the exit as we were only there for the night which was very convenient as it is a deceptively massive site. The pitches in the short stay area are not marked but there was plenty of room and we didn't feel that we were encroaching on anyone elses space. The hook up and water supplies were adequate for one night but may have been a bit less convenient for a long stay as we had to unravel nearly all our cable to reach the electric supply.
The shower block nearest to us was lovely and warm but very dated and had very poor limed up shower heads which gave a trickle of water. It was clean but needed updating.
The rest of the site has a country park feel to it with nice big open pitches- many on gravel with grassy borders and some more natural and grassy with shade. The bottom field was just for tents or those who don't need hook up.
A word of warning about the cafe/take away. The up side is its open for breakfast and stays open til 9pm. It has a shop as well which has a good selection of snacks and essentials BUT the food we ordered was virtually in-edible. The steak pie so hard and dry we could of hammered a tent peg in with it and the sausage casserole contained cold aneamic chipolatas swimming in a thin flavourless juice on a bed on glutinous lumpy mash- not a restaurant review I know but it might be worth stocking up before you arrive or checking out one of the nearby country pubs instead.
It would definitely be worth a longer visit here as it was a beautifully kept and is within easy reach of some very interesting towns and villages such as Rye and Canterbury. A superb stop to or from Dover.

This is a very good campsite!
We got there quite late on saturday night (due to being at work) and as it was a bank holiday weekend it was packed!
We only just managed to find a pitch for our tent, which was a bit annoying as we had booked two weeks in advance and it looked as if they had overbooked!
The rest of the site was very nice, it's quite remote, so no main roads nearby, although there was a railway line just behind us, it only goes hourly so didn't really bother us!
The toilets were ok, they seemed to run out of loo roll quite often in the ladies, but we took our own! The only downside here was the cold showers, it wasn't too bad as it was very hot weather, but I can imagine it being horrible when colder!
The cafe/shop was good, food was very nice and good prices as well, and they stocked all your essentials, as there is no shop that we know of in walking distance!
Overall a nice atmosphere, kids could play happily alongside each other and we enjoyed listening to the birds every morning; We are actually booking to go again in a couple of weeks!

We visited this site very recently. It is a large, well organised, clean and friendly site to which we will certainly return. Plenty of clean toilets and showers despite being busy at a holiday weekend. Shop on site reasonably well stocked for necessary items and other shops a few miles away. The nearest pub is now closed and appears to have been for some time. The nearest one now is approx a mile down narrow lanes and has very restricted opening hours in two three hour spells but other pubs aren't that difficult to find. This really doesn't detract from the campsite in any way at all.

Visited the site over the August Bank holiday as a last resort due to bad planning on my part, well, what a find !
The staff on site were very helpful and the grounds were very clean and tidy, layout of the pitches included fences between caravans which I always find a treat.
Cafe & shop on site were nice with good quality food, the shower/toilet blocks were top notch and cleaned regularly. Showers were very well laid out and we had no trouble with cold showers at all.
What we found fantastic was a family fun day was organised on the site which included, dog Show, Live Music, Clown/Magician, Karaoke & BB all for a Fiver. We had a blast with all the family shattered by the end of the day.
This site is situated near a railway line of which we backed straight up against, but to be honest with the modern trains not that loud we really did not notice them all weekend.
Getting to the site was very easy and clearly sign posted.
Thanks to the team at the park for a great weekend, we will be back for sure.

Spent 4 nights here in unbelievable weather, whilst visiting family. It was my husband's 'first time' under canvas and a great introduction to the great outdoors. Lovely well-cared for site with good facilities. Shame the weekend crowd (went from a field with 2 tents in to Glastonbury levels) didn't respect them as much. Makes you wonder what they do at home. Definitely recommended. Lovely rabbits hopping around, pleasant hook-up pitches (would book these in future) and big open spaces for tents. Downside was nowhere really to freeze iceblocks. The shop would, but at a price (25p for a small one), and they go in the freezer with the food served at the cafe. Trains do run but aren't a problem - just the wood pigeons!

We stayed just the one night before an early morning ferry to France. Really near to Dover port so extremely handy as a stopover site.
Great little cafe on site for teas, coffees breakfasts, teacakes etc. Good prices too.
Pub nearest campsite is closed but there is another one nearby. We went on a Sat night and were very lucky to get a table and a seat as all tables and seats were reserved for people wanting to eat!
Train line does run along back of site but didn't disturb us. Toilets and showers were kept very clean but hot water in the showers was barely warm enough to wash in and this really let this otherwise lovely site down.
