Came here for B/h w/end wet all w/end but not sites fault very muddy very poor drainage, power cuts on and off most of w/end. Site could do with brightening up looks like a holiday camp from the 70s, entertainment not very good boating pool very drab trampolines rather expensive if you have a couple of kids bar prices expensive, all in all we wont be returning

We went as a group of 5 families, 10 adults and 10 kids. The reception were very flexible in our choice of pitch as it was the very end of season.
The hook ups are 4 outputs on one stand so the 2 outside tents needed long leads (a point to note).
Overall the camp site was clean enough and the toilet and showers not too bad. However as this was the end of the summer season it was all showing signs of wear and tear (the usual blocked toilets etc). The pool was excellent and the kids and adults loved the indoor and outdoor slides. The free boating pond was a great draw for the families. There were plenty of play parks for younger kids but the teens could have done with a hang out area. We never used the club house as there was no entertainment on while we were there (30 Aug - 2st Sept). The site also has limited or no phone coverage. A point that did not bother me. There is wifi so I was told. Overall not a bad site at all. We will return next year. Oh and on a clear night the sky is amazing to look at.

We have a seasonal pitch at this site and have been very pleased with our choice. This is the first time we have had a seasonal pitch and were worried that we might get fed up of coming back to the same place all summer but that hasn't happened. The facilities here are great, showers, toilets and washing areas cleaned twice daily and always with hot water. The shop stocks everything you might need at short notice at a reasonable price. What impresses me is that they have lots of little things that the children can buy with their pocket money from 2p sweets to chocolate bars. Reminds me of when I was little! There is a fish and chip shop on site next to the club house which is very handy on your arrival night, after setting up, you can take your fish n chips into the club house to watch the entertainment. The team of entertainers are top class and the entertainment varies through the night - usually beginning with a short kids disco which is very traditional and brings back lots of childhood memories! Then there is usually some sort of family game like a quiz or play your cards right before an act of some sort at 9pm (every night high season). The evening entertainment has been a real treat after a day playing with the children, to have a rest for an hour or so while they are entertained and then to watch a good quality performance. Not all the acts are always good but 8/10 times they are impressive considering there is no extra charge. The in house entertainment team performed songs from the musicals this week. They were dressed in costume and performed to such a high standard that they received a standing ovation from a few guests. It was truly a pleasure to watch.
My only criticism would be that the site should you utilise the talents of their entertainment staff more often rather than have some of their external artist which can very occasionally be quite run of the mill. Also the price of beer at the bar is on the expensive side but maybe this is to cover entertainment costs and to stop people drinking too much? There is also an indoor heated pool with small slide (big enough for brave adults to use!) and an unheated outdoor pool with bigger slide. Again, this is free which is great. The changing facilities at the pool side always have hot water but the floors need to be cleaned more often as they are usually very grubby, or they should insist on people leaving their shoes outside as they do on the continent.
The boating lake is great fun too. Shallow and surrounded by a kids park, children and adults love it. The staff should clean the boats out daily though because we often go to use them and they have a few inches of water inside. There are ducks and ducklings galore and a pleasant riverside walk on the site. The only activities that cost extra money are the horse riding but even that is a reasonable amount of £5 and trampolining at £2 for 30 minutes. There is a small arcade which is popular with older children and teenagers with traditional games like pool and table tennis as well as a few electronic games. The arcade and club house is where the free Internet hotspot is which makes it popular with teenagers too - great for getting them out of the caravan and meeting new people! The site really could do with installing some facility to watch sport. There is no opportunity to watch the football regularly and this is something that my husband really misses whilst on holiday.
The surrounding area is a little disappointing as you need to travel 30 to 45 minutes to visit the main attractions such as a beach with sand. (Western super mare or Minehead) Our favourite beach with the children is Sand Bay north of Western but takes 45 mins to travel there. There are many pebble beaches nearer and a pretty marina at Watchet. Our favourite attraction nearby is the Steam train journey that takes you along the coast to Minehead. This is a must do if you visit the site. Minehead is a traditional coastal resort with entertainment and the usual fish n chip restaurants but it is clean and pleasant with a sand beach.
All in all we really enjoy our time here. The staff are always helpful and always busy keeping the site clean. Dogs are welcome too. A great site for families and couples who like a little variety. Ps - very few single lanes to navigate on the approach with you caravan!

We have just come back from a long weekend at this site so thought would add this review.
The staff were very friendly on arrival we asked for a quiet pitch and were given one, as the other reviewer has said the pitches aren't clearly defined but if you pitch using the number marker as the middle I think they are a good size although we would recommend rock pegs as the ground is very stony.
The facilities are good and we didn't have to queue for showers they were clean and the water was hot even though it was the school holidays and the site was very busy. The camp shop stocks the basics so is good in an emergency.
Our son enjoyed the pools and the slide and there are many things on site to keep children occupied during the day. It can be a bit noisy but you should expect that at high season on family friendly sites and there are quieter sites around with less facilities. Overall a good site if you have children and would definitely go back again.

We stumbled upon this site by accident last year. There wasn't an option to review then so am reviewing now after our 2nd trip, suffice to say we liked it enough to visit a 2nd time.
The site is equipped with everything you need and more, it's just a little rough around the edges. For example there are 6 decent pool tables in the games room but there's no tips on the cues, the children's entertainment (We didn't stay later than 10pm so can't comment on the cabaret) is good fun but seems to be a little hap hazard and got a little repetitive. The same game was played at least 3 nights in succession and my 2, ages 4 and 7, were a little bored of it by our 6th night.
None of this deters from the fact though that this is a great site for families. Split into several smaller camping fields you get the feeling the site is smaller than it actually is. As noted in a previous review the facilities block only has 4 showers per sex but as there's a block in every field this is plenty, I never had to queue for a shower. Swimming pools are good fun. The outdoor is quite cold and the indoor quite warm meaning a fair bit of passing from one to the other. Both pools can get a bit hectic in school holidays but my kids loved the slides. The boating lake is a great feature with a well equipped play area at one end, on top of this there's a play area in each camping field. I agree with the previous reviewer in that there doesn't seem to be an open area for the kids to go and kick a ball about meaning they end up kicking about around the tents, not ideal, especially when it's busy. Vodafone signal is none existent with out walking up the hill towards the main road, I saw plenty of people talking on their phones though so some networks must be covered. Free wifi is provided in the bar/club area and we took the option of paying for wifi at the tent (£12 for 7 days). I had no issues with connection but did hear some people complaining about it.
Overall I really like the site. There's a lot of sites that do this kind of thing much better but Mill Farm does it without the commercialism, has a charm all of it's own and does it all at a reasonable price. It reminds me of the campsites I spent my summers on as a kid. Yes, it can get a little noisy in the evenings but a friendly word to explain the lack of tent soundproofing to the offending parties usually does the trick. This is not the kind of place you want to come to if you're after peace and tranquillity but if you want a fun, family camping experience then give it a go.
After 2 visits in 12 months it's firmly placed on our favourites list and I can see us being frequent visitors for a few years yet.

We have just come back from mill farm after finding the site via the internet.
We paid for an extra large pitch. We put our tent up and only just had room to park the car. Our tent is 7 x 5m. We were told we would have plenty of room but this wasn't the case. Pitches are not marked clearly they just have a number which has to be at the centre of your tent.
The toilet block was a little tired. Towards the end of the holiday they became very dirty. They were cleaned on the Monday but then left and not cleaned again until we left (Wednesday afternoon) at which time they were pretty bad. No soap this had run out on Monday and several toilets had run out of toilet roll. Although toilet rolls were put in on weds morning, but no cleaning!.
The drains smelt terrible in the shower/toilets and also in the dishwashing area. The bin area was also very smelly.
We tried out the pools, the outdoor one was freezing so we went into the indoor one, this was warmer but not big enough for the amount of people using it, no room to swim around. Lockers are provided but the floor was very dirty.
The chip shop was very good, lovely food. Not open long enough though.
I found the site shop very poor. No magazines. We needed more deodorant but they didn't sell that either. Limited stock.
Whilst driving around you have to be very careful of children riding on bikes/scooters.
Quite a few dogs on site and we only saw 1 bit of dogs mess on the ground.
We couldn't get a phone signal anywhere on the site, we are on 3 network. Had to make calls when out and about.
Lovely site for young families. But I feel they could be cleaner facilities.
We found lots of local stores ie. Asda, sainsburys, aldi's, lidl, farm foods about 15 to 20 minutes drive away.
Beaches are a fair drive away either Weston, Burnham on Sea or Minehead.
I'm afraid we wont be visiting again. We have been to sites which have much cleaner facilities.

We booked for a family of 4 in a tent by phone for a couple of nights - they were very friendly and helpful on the phone. As we were a family, they said, we'll put you in the family field. We were put in a field with a few tents and some caravans - we have electric hook up. We were right at the top of the field, furthest away from the nearest toilet block. Just as well, because the by second night of our stay there were some mammoth groups down the bottom of 'our' field who were very noisy late at night. Although, to be fair, we couldn't hear them enough to be disturbed where we were.
The site itself is lovely. Toilet block clean and spacious, although I suspect there are shower queues at high season (only 4 showers per sex per block). Loads of facilities including games room with pool tables, games machines. Boating lake with free rowing boats, which has shallow water shared with the local duck population! Indoor and outdoor swimming pools - the indoor one is warm with a small slide, the outdoor one (colder) with a much larger slide. There was a lifeguard on duty when we were there.
There is a club/bar which we didn't try. They have trampolines too plus a health and fitness suite (which again we didn't try). There is a campsite shop and fish and chip bar. There were a number of small playgrounds with swings/slide etc.
It was fairly empty near our tent which gave enough room for a game of football but if the site was full there would be no open space available.
The pitches are numbered but there is no marking between them. You pitch your tent to align with the centre pitch number. All pitches are electric I believe and are fully grassed. A tarmac roadway serves every pitch. There are a number of fields - the site is deceptively large although each field feels like its own community.
Vodafone mobile reception in and around the site is very poor. And I suspect other networks too as I saw people wandering around trying to get a signal. If connecting to the outside world is important to you they offer a paid wifi service (free in the bar/club).
Whilst staying there we visited Weston-Super-Mare and its *enormous* beach which isn't far by car.
You are asked to vacate your pitch by 10am which we thought was a little early (we're not early risers!)
Considering the facilities which are thrown in we thought the pricing was pretty good. We would visit again if we wanted to stay in the area but we would make sure on booking that we were away from large groups.
If you like your camping with a pool and other facilities, go for it. If you're more no-frills campers, avoid.

Thought I would leave an honest review for this site as there aren't any yet!
We visited for 5 nights on the first week of the school summer holidays. We asked for a pitch near the kids play area and were sited right next to one! The first 3 nights were lovely as we had almost the whole meadow to ourselves and the site was relatively quiet. By Fri/Sat is started to fill up an became very busy and noisy. In hindsight we wouldn't have asked to be so close to the play area and had to ask some noisy kids to leave at 10pm when we were trying to put ours to bed. Also there seemed to be a lot of groups who barricaded themselves in with windbreakers! Some parties were very noisy until 12pm and I'm glad we weren't next to them.
Those are the negatives though. All in all, a great site for the kids. Free pools with slides, sun terrace, boats, playgrounds in every field and entertainment in the bar at night. My kids loved it.
Would deffo return, ideal as a stop over for a couple of nights for us en route to Cornwall.

Just come back from a 5 day break with hubby and 2 children under 5.
The brochure stated that the park is divided into meadows, each with its own park, showers, toilets, and picnic tables. These meadows are truly lovely, and had we stayed in one of these we would have been much happier. But we were booked into the big field at the back - of which there is no mention of in the brochure - neither were we told when booking.
No showers - no park - no picnic tables. No proper road through the field, so kids cant ride scooters, and cars kept getting stuck in the mud right outside our tent. Over 100 hundred pitches in that field with a portacabin with 2 ladies toilets, which is ridiculous. It rained a lot and so we had to trudge though the park to the main shower block, feeling like the poor relatives, covered in mud in our wellies.
The toilets were dirty, given the amount of rain, not the parks fault of course, but they did have a habit of cleaning the toilet and showers all at the same time, so only one block would be open!
There are no big covered wheelie bins to dispose of rubbish. There are lots of dustbins, which constantly had piles of blackbags on top of them as there were not enough. Some had been ripped open and this was not cleaned up, even after bins were emptied. When they did collect the rubbish, they drove it up to the entrance of the park and set fire to it.
Having said all this, we did have a great time. The indoor pool is fantastic, really lovely and warm and both my children could go down the slide. We spent hours in there. Be prepared though - it was full of teenagers who took balls in and were lobbing them at each other and the life guards do nothing to stop anyone from doing anything. Its a real free for all. We didn't go in the outdoor pool as it is not heated.
The stated meadows really are nice and had we stayed in one of these we wouldn't have seen all the mud and overflowing bins and the portacabinloos.
The parks are basic and all the same - a slide - swings. The little takeaway sells the kiddies box meals for £2. 50, which is good value. The boating lake is really good fun.
