Recently visited Mother Iveys Bay and had a wonderful time .
The shower and toilet facilities were always very clean and never very busy .
The staff are very help full and full of information. Some of the pitches are better than others but generally all to a high standard .
Would definitely be returning next year.

Excellent, we have been going to Cornwall for over 20yrs this is by far the best site yet. Very well kept, clean hot spacious showers, quiet, large pitch, friendly staff. Beautiful beach uncrowded. It is exspensive but worth it. It is that perfect we have put our name down for a static, unfortunatley there is a 3yr waiting list which says it all really.

Fantastic location, good beach on site and even better one at Booby's bay, 10 minute walk over the golf course. Site clean, nice flowers.

Washroom capacity inadequate in August - queue for EVERYTHING for long periods of day - shower and washup not surprisingly, but urinals & toilet cubicles too - no joke telling a 5 year old that they have to queue wait to visit the toilet. Had expected better ratio of facilities to campers considering premium price.

Wonderful site! Beautifully landscaped, own private beach (one of the nicest beaches I've ever been on) plenty of room between pitches, good site shop and near to lots of nice places such as Paignton. We visited out of high season in late June 04 and the toilets etc were immaculate, would love to visit again if we travel that way.

At £26 a night I expected something decent but unfortunately it just isn't so. I was dubious about returning to Mother Iveys after our weeks visit last year but was persuaded by my wife and sister / brother-in-law. We went with our children again this year.

The site is clean and tidy and has a nice beach (three quarters of a mile actual walking distance away and 2 large hills later so not for the infirm). Shower and dishwashing facilities are adequate but that's it.

There is a small shop (extortionate and poorly stocked). No restaurant, clubhouse or bar. There's a small childrens play area consisting of a grubby sand pit and a few swings in the middle of the field. No kids club or pool as with other sites in the area at this sort of price.

The 22:30 curfew is an infringement on civil liberties in my opinion. We are, after all, meant to be on holiday! We should be allowed some degree of choice as to our timekeeping habits! The security guards also enforce this rule with an iron rod, actually threatening one of our party with violence when remonstrated with! I'm Serious!

At £26 per night for a pitch with electric hook-up I had high hopes for this site - and I was not disappointed!

We were pitched in "the square" and this was a idyllic spot close to a toilet / shower block. The pitches were well marked out and a good size - most importantly they were very flat!

The shower block was exceptional and I was most impressed with the family showers which were big enough for me, my husband and our 3 pre-schoolers - it made it a much less stressful experience getting them clean!

The dish washing facilities were good - with 4 sinks with drainers - this, and the toilet block, was repeated at another location in the park but, to be honest, I never had occasion to go and look at this block!

Staff patrolled the park every hour through the day and into the night which was very reassuring. Staff were also very friendly and approachable at all times.

The park was exceptionally well kept with beautiful flower beds and perfect grass.

The highlight of the park, however, is the more or less private beach. It can only be reached through Mother Ivey's Bay or via the coast path so it tends to be residents only. The sand is golden and the sea is clear and pretty safe for kids.

The kids play area is quite a way away from the hook-up area but in with the tent pitches - good for them but not quite so good for static caravan residents or pitches with electric - that said it is a very good play area for both younger and older children.

I have to say that this is probably the best site we have visited - as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for!

A beautiful location, clean, well kept, secure and mostly quiet. Good site shop and plenty of space.

The site has its own, private beach, which is clean and simply stunning, only a 5-minute walk from your tent or caravan too. There is a separate field for games and this contains the children’s playground too. If you stay on the site for the duration of your visit you are missing the point though. The coastal path needs exploring, if you enjoy golf it is only a 10-minute walk to a course. For surfing or body boards you have the wonderful Constantine Bay with its own surf shop with all the gear for hire. Say Hi to Des the owner for me whilst you are there, lovely chap and has surfed for more years than I have been alive! The nearest pub is a 10 minute cycle or 30 minute walk away. Newquay is worth a visit if you want nightlife but the coast road there is slow and needs patience.

There is no clubhouse on site, excellent! Get your booze and supplies in Asda on the way out of Bodmin and save a fortune! BBQ’s are tolerated but keep them off the grass. We have camped there 4 times, and took the luxury of a static caravan once. The van was not what we wanted, we have a small daughter so asked for a smoke free and dog free van. On arrival the van stank of both dogs, and smoke! It was well equipped though, and the view was great. Be sure to check the inventory though, we forgot and later found out we were 2 chairs and plates etc short.

My advice? Spend the days on the beach or coast path, return to a BBQ and camp fire (in the BBQ) and enjoy the quiet. Ring the warden if you have any trouble after dark with noise, the security guards will sort it out quickly. A quiet, family orientated site that suited us for many visits.

lovely beach, thats it! if you want to pay £26 per night purely for electric hookup, this is the one for you. although it has a tent field, this only comes into its own in high season, so! tents and caravans are located side by side.you don't need an alarm clock as the screaming kids will tell you when it is 0645. if you have a new caravan it will need to be insured against footballs, frisbees, boule, sticks and any other throwing implements. management do not enforce the no ball games rule, the gates are closed at 2230, so don't stay out late!!well actually, you can't!...

I know it sounds a moan but I paid just under £200 for 8 nights, for peace and quiet and didn't get any, it was my holiday too! there are no facilities for adults i.e a bar or social club and when you think that the shop on site charges £7.75 for half bottle of scotch and over £6.00 for a bottle of white wine, it makes you think! if you do not like children, tenters,or dogs, or being told what do to do, think twice about going here.

We have just returned from a weekend break with 6 other families to Mother Ivey's Caravan Park.

The site is beautiful with pretty stone walls and masses of flowers in bloom. The shower and toilet blocks are very clean although the showers seemed to have 'off' moments when even a trickle of water seemed impossible. Sometimes when you showered the water would be really powerful and hot and other times not.

Our two sons aged 8 and 5 and 11 of their friends from school (and their mums and dads!) arrived Friday afternoon and left Monday morning.
We strolled down to the sites private beach which is absolutely breathtaking. We live in Devon and I can honestly say it is the prettiest and cleanest beach I have ever seen in this country.

The only down side to this campsite is that they have a 11.00pm noise policy which involves a couple of security guards patrolling the grounds making sure the camp is quiet. On two nights we were chatting around a campfire enjoying a glass of wine not making much noise when we were asked to go back to our tents. We have to admit we felt like naughty school children! We even saw them approaching awnings with their lights on after 11.00 pm, so if you are a night owl or with friends who like a chat when the kids are asleep, this may not be the campsite for you.
