Small flat coastal Caravan Club site with a good mixture of grass and hard standing pitches, all set in small loops of about a dozen pitches. Good facilities as usual for these sites. Walking distance to beach and the pretty village with its one little shop and the Castle Inn (increasingly pricey). Good centre for walks along this part of the coast, walk across the John Muir Way to North Berwick, pretty coastal villages, Scotland's Air Museum, Dirleton Castle, Edinburgh, Bass Rock, Preston Pans battlefield, Tantallon Castle, plenty of golf courses nearby. A very popular site, booking advised.

Our second visit here this year and I still find it a good site for location and scenery (from nearby Yellowcraig beach).
Dirleton village is a 1 mile walk away and is very pretty. North Berwick is around a 3 mile walk but a pleasant one if you've got the energy and has most shops you would need. Or if you want a closer stroll Yellowcraig beach itself provides a bracing burst of air on a cold day.
I don't have a problem with the toilets at this site despite a previous comment about dated appearance. I find them very clean and smart in appearance.

This is a fabulous site and a great base for exploring the coast and Edinburgh. We booked 7 nights here starting the bank holiday weekend, and it was very busy, but due to the layout of the site, you didn't notice it.
If you want a relaxing break away then this site is ideal. Every night we heard different owls, and saw red kites flying nearby. There are lots of rabbits too, and they are quite timid.
As has been said before the facilities were good, very well laid out, and clean.
The surrounding area is home to some pretty villages with quaint shops good for a little retail therapy!
North Berwick is only a few miles away, and has a great selection of pubs and restaurants if you fancy a night off from cooking. The Golfers Rest is reasonable, and will allow dogs in.
A trip to Edinburgh is a must, whilst there do try and fit in a tour on one of the many site seeing buses. We went on the green bus, complete with a guide, who was entertaining to say the least.
We loved this site and we are already planning our next trip there.

Just back (2 adults, 4 children and 1 dog) from an 8 night stay at Yellowcraig. Cannot fault the site in any way. Children enjoyed cycling round the park and particularly to the adventure park in the woods only a couple of minutes away. Another couple of minutes and we were on the most beautiful and clean beach. A mixture of sand and rockpools.
Visited North Berwick, a bustling little town at weekend. Found an excellent play area for the children complete with zipwire in the Lodge Gardens.
Enjoyed a day at Dunbar. Didn't catch many fish, but was entertained by Sammy the Seal who was particularly cheeky.
We didn't really eat out after looking at the sample menus in the information hut on site as they all seemed rather expensive, especially for a party of 6!
Tescos at North Berwick sufficient for all needs.
Will definitely be returning.

As has been said before, this site is very well maintained and constantly being attended to by the staff.
Toilet/shower block impeccable although looking a little 70's. Nice touches like cloths to wipe down washhand basins.
All pitches appeared to be level. There is a reasonable sized playpark for kids.
Dirleton is an absolutely gorgeous village and would highly recommend the Castle Inn for food and drink. We were allowed to take our dog in while we ate, albeit we were in an annexe, but that suited us, and dog, just fine.
Great walks for dogs and suitable roads/paths for cycling.
Take a visit to nearby Gullane & Aberlady. Another 2 beautiful villages with outstanding beaches.
We visited the Museum of Flight which was excellent although we ran out of time.
North Berwick has an excellent swimming pool.
We ate in the following to places in North Berwick and would recommend them both -
Tiger Coast Indian Restaurant, 114 High Street. Excellent food although the nan bread was a bit small.
The Grange, 35 High Street. We had a 3 course lunch in this lovely restaurant and can't commend it enough. Cullen Skink was delicious and a meal in itself. Great value and lovely ambience.
We also took the boat trip to Bass Rock on Sula II. Well worth it. Depending on weather you either get taken up close to the rock or all around it. Seals and various birds on view. Great.
To entertain the kids we also visited East Links Family Prk, near Dunbar which was another great day out. Has a reasonable cafe but offers lots to do and we easily spent a whole day there. For information of dog owners, they provide kennels which only require a £5 deposit for a padlock/key.
For shopping - there is a Tesco at the top end of North Berwick or, in the opposite direction, there is another Tesco and an ALDI in Haddington.
Overall, the site is up there with my favourites and the area is excellent for families, especially those with dogs! Will return.

Excellent site in a fantastic location. 5 minutes walk from the sea, 10 minutes or so to Dirleton, and a great walk across the John Muir Way to North Berwick.
You could walk onto the fantastic golden beach near Fidra Isle and think you were in the Med. We went crabbing among the rocks (always on the incoming tide) and caught 89 of the wee nippers in just over an hour.
Wardens friendly and helpful. Some pitches laid out in smaller sheltered areas. Wild rabbits abound. Toilets etc very clean and plenty enough of them.
Dirleton pub, the Castle Inn wee bit tourist priced but good beer even if the food edges towards city prices.
North Berwick a great wee town with a beautiful and historic harbour.
A real gem of a site.

2 night stay here on a weekend, site was fully booked but did not feel crowded, pitches had plenty of space.
Facilities were spotless, alternatives available when they were closed for cleaning.
5 minute walk to beach which is stunning, nice walks to Dirleton, North Berwick or Gullane.
Dirleton is a lovely village with a castle. Would recommend booking if you want to eat in the village in the evening.
North Berwick is worth visiting,
Will definitely return

Stayed at this site for Ten Days and it is the first time we have used a caravan club Site and were we impressed? All facilities are well maintained and clean
The site is situated close to the beach and woodland. we never heard or saw any negatives with other caravanner's etc. The Reception were most helpful
Dirleton and North Berwick are excellent towns with the Butchers in the latter being out of this world and very friendly! Definitely will go back for another stay here.

We were lucky to visit this site during a sunny weekend and that just added to the pleasant experience. Nicely laid out pitches in small clusters and lovely clean toilet facilities.
The beach is very close by and you can walk to North Berwick, which is itself a nice little town. The charming village of Dirleton is even nearer and there's a convenient path to it from the site.
My only gripe, as someone who's gone past the kids stage, was the number of them on site. However that's to be expected given the location and not really a complaint, more a 'warning' for anyone looking for peace and quiet.

This was our second visit, the first being in September last year, having taken a couple of weeks holiday in North Berwick for the last 6 years or so.
Fabulous site in a beautiful location. Wardens on both visits were really helpful and friendly. Bathroom and laundry facilities are excellent. Superb wardens and bathrooms being the norm for CC sites in our experience.
The site is flat and open to the elements and the wind fair rips down the Firth sometimes so be prepared for a blustery experience more often than not.
The nearby village has a lovely pub / restaurant The Castle that serves good food and hand pulled ale, the Belhaven 80 Shilling is particularly good.
Dirleton is a mile from the site and served by a bus service that'll whisk you to Edinburgh in an hour or N. Berwick in ten mins. The owners of the village shop / Post Office are lovely - very helpful and friendly.
The beach is a ten minute walk and absolutely gorgeous.
We will be returning in October for another visit.
