This site turned out to be a real gem. The wardens were friendly and helpful and suggested a pitch that suited our needs perfectly! The pitching areas are screened from each other by grassy banks, fences and shrubs, so no area feels crowded. We thought it was a particularly well run site.

The shower block was superb and when closed for cleaning, there was a toilet opposite available. Children seemed well catered for on site. The glory of this site is that it is a 5 minute walk from a lovely sandy beach, complete with rock pools and birdwatching opportunities. Yellowcraig Country Park also offers walks and a further adventure style playground for children.

North Berwick is a lovely seaside town and home to the Scottish Seabird Centre. When we were there Bass Rock looked as if it was covered in snow, which turned out to be gannets! There is a putting green on the seafront and pipe band concerts take place during some evenings. There is a Tesco supermarket, takeaways and restaurants. Edinburgh isn't far, nor are the Scottish Borders. The views over the Firth of Forth from the Lammermuir Hills are spectacular.

Just enjoyed a wonderful stay (5 nights) at this site. We were delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, and left a message the day before we set off, and also spoke to one of the wardens to say we were running late. She advised us clearly and in a friendly and efficient manner about our options.

Although the site is large (our largest so far) because it is divided into several areas, it does not feel big, but quite low key and friendly. Because we booked at a quieter time of year the warden gave us a choice of several pitches and recommended one nearest to the toilet block, which was highly convenient.

The site has toilet facilities, washing up area, laundry area and recycling/disposal areas. There was literally lashings of hot water for washing up. The toilets were spotless and the showers lovely and warm (which is one of the criteria I use for accommodation; if the showers are good, then usually everything else is).

The wardens were helpful if you needed them, everything was very well organised and maintained. There were a lot of notices enforcing rules, but this was for the good of everyone and I didn't find it restrictive.

For our dogs there was a huge field to walk around the perimeter (children's play area inside) and a beautiful 10 minute walk to the beach through the woods. There was also a small children's play area near to our pitch, safely fenced off.

There is an information hut, a public telephone and a small shop at reception with essential supplies if you run out (which we didn't use).

The village of Dirleton is a mile away and it has a shop/post office, and two pubs. We had a meal at the Castle Inn (highly recommended for food, service and value).

During our stay we visited North Berwick and the Seabird Centre, Dunbar, and the Museum of Flight. Edinburgh is convenient on the train, although we didn't visit this time.

All in all, wonderful site in wonderful area!

One of our favourite sites and fortunately just over an hour from our door so one we use 2 or 3 times a season from Fri - Sun or longer if possible. Attraction for us is the location, Dirleton is picturesque and North Berwick only a few miles away.
Large central toilet block is always spotless, warm and the showers hot. Good play area for kids and another just outside the park as the site is next to Yellowcraig Country Park.
Best bit for us is the beach - 10 mins walk and views over to Fife are great. Pity they could not move the site next to the beach so these could be enjoyed from your pitch! Plenty to do in the area and Edinburgh is only minutes away if the weather is wet. The aviation museum with Concorde is well worth a visit at East Fortune, as is East Links family park near Dunbar.

We had high hopes for this site and its location is lovely with access to a wide uncrowded beach. We liked the little pitching area albeit quite bumpy and lumpy! The pitches did seem rather squashed in probably because there were no hedges or other demarcation of the end of one pitch and the beginning of another.

The facilities were of the usual C.C. High standard and there was an excellent dog walking area.

We visited in the high season and the site was full but notices warned parents that children must return to their tents and vans at designated time and the site was quiet as a result in the late evening.

North Berwick itself is worth a visit with a good selection of shops and the necessary Tescos.

It's certainly worth visiting this site and it's conveniently near the A1 if you are heading up or down the country.

This being our first caravan trip, we would highly recommend this site, staff were so friendly and very eager to help us. Site was very well maintained, the toilet and shower block was cleaned often and was spotless throughout .Site was also in excellent location for touring to edinburgh, north berwick and other surrounding areas. The beach which is only 5min from site is superb very clean and unspoilt.

 What a lovely site.

It was highly recommended and the reviews were very encouraging, and I have to say it lived up to expectations.

The toilet block was immaculate and there were plenty of showers.

There are recycling facilities and a small hut with lots of local info leaflets.

There was also some flexibility on departure times - it's usually 12noon but if they are quite then you can stay on a bit longer which is nice.

The layout is great, although some of the pitches were a bit of squeeze to get to, but once you were 'detached' from the car it was fine.

A lovely site and we'll definitely be back.

This was our second visit to this site and I would not hesitate in making a third trip.

We had a nice little pitch (ground is a bit bumpy with rabbit holes!) and the site was quiet for the most part of the week. School holidays brought in a lot more people and a lot more noise (especially one night when music was played until around 2:30 in the morning - I complained to the wardens but they did not know who it was so they could not question them about it). The site itself is really nice and well kept. Toilet block is spotless and plenty of loo's and showers. Washing up area had about 3/4 sinks and was really clean.

Again, I can't fault the beach (even though it rained most of our holiday - it was still lovely).

Would recommend this site as it is close to Edinburgh and local attractions, friendly, clean and close to a lovely beach.

Will defo be back.

We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed ourselves greatly. We pitched in one of the secluded areas and it was nice and quiet. I have never seen so many dogs on a caravan site but I must congratulate the owners on their well controlled pets.
Staff were very pleasant and the toilet blocks immaculate. We had our grandchildren for the weekend and they enjoyed the playparks and the lovely beach. To conclude, a site I would be pleased to recommend and return to myself.

We have just got back from a long weekend there and have already booked our May holiday (a full week)! When we arrived it was busy with kids, and we thought - oh no. This is going to be a nightmare - but no. Kids were all quiet by 9pm (thanks to the mum's and dad's for that) and I never heard anything until around 10am! By Sunday, the place was really quiet and peaceful. We were very lucky in that we had the most wonderful weather which made this long weekend even better.

Facilities are great - clean and plentiful.

Beach is one of the nicest beaches I have seen in Scotland (and I have seen a lot). Our little dog loved the sand (being a little dog his tummy get's very dirty on most beaches - but not on this one - the sand is so white and soft - just brushed off).

The pitches are full of rabbit holes, so be careful for those with tendencies of tripping (like me!). Ground is quite soft, so most pegs will do. Hardstanding and grass pitches are quite well spaced out - being that the site is spaced out into little 5/6 pitches sections, does not feel like a large site.

That is all I can say for now - really looking forward to re-visiting in May. Will update you all then.

Site is a mile from Dirleton along a winding road that can be quite busy at the weekends with people going to the beach.

The site is well run to the usual caravan club standards, with one large toilet block, which is closed for cleaning between 11am and 12:30. Directly opposite is another block which houses a very large baby and toddler’s room, laundry (£3 for wash, 70p for 15 minute drying - 2 washing machines and dryers), dishwashing (undercover) and two toilets for use when the main block is closed.

There is an onsite playground next to the blocks with all the usual playthings.

North Berwick is a 2 to 3 mile walk from the site along the beach or a signposted walk. The beach itself is accessed via the beach car park and on the way you pass a very nice playground. The town of North Berwick has a variety of shops pubs and restaurants for most tastes and it only costs £5 for a taxi from the town to the site.

The museum of flight is nearby with its main attraction of Concorde and a large new adventure playground for the kids.

Overall an ideal site in good weather and I will return to the site
