 Superb site. Toilet/shower facilties are top rate, and the site is situated a few minutes walk from the award-winning Yellowcraig beach – lovely golden sand, rock pools, and views of Bass Rock. The downside is that it’s very popular! Regulars from the nearby Edinburgh, West Lothian and Falkirk areas take the site over at weekends – I would advise booking if you want to stay here Friday-Saturday nights. The weekend we were there it had been quiet all week, but on the Friday they started pouring in from lunchtime onwards right through to early evening. The lady at Reception told me that on the Friday morning they had plenty of pitches available but by afternoon they were full. Apparently this isn’t unusual, if it looks like the weather will be fine they leave the city after work and head out to Yellowcraig en masse – it’s less than an hour’s drive away. One small gripe about our short stay is that the site is set out in 5 interlinking circular areas, a bit like a clover but with 5 leaves, which unfortunately lends itself to groups of children racing each other around the site during the evening on their bikes. I don’t know if this is the norm on this site or if we were just unlucky while we were there, but they were enough to be a nuisance and also a potential danger if anyone got in their way.

Lovely quiet site,toilet blocks lovely and clean, plenty of showers, path from site to lovely clean beach, you can walk along the beach to town, couple of miles where you will find decent resturants, cafes etc. Edinburgh only 20mins from site by car, all in all an excellant site and well worth a visit.

Caravan Club run site a few minutes walk from Yellowcraig beach, quite a small site but with excellent facilities (the wash/shower blocks put our bathroom at home to shame!) Friendly warden and team and near to Edinburgh
