August 2004 We love this site. It must have one of the most beautiful sunset views ever!
We've been going for years despite the eccentricities of Mrs Price - a formidable woman! One thing's for sure no-one causes any problems noise wise when she's around!
Broughton bay is at the end of the field - fab for walking but not a good swimming beach as is on estuary.
Shower temps. vary from icy to scalding hot and they only operate at beginning and end of day. They're quite clean however and queues aren't too bad except for busy weekends.
Shop's ok if basic - serves coffees and ice - creams.
Doesn't sound too special you might say but there's an indefinable quality about this site - it just feels good to be there!!

August 2004 We went to this campsite for the August Bank Holiday. I dont think we could have picked a better one. The site wasnt full, plenty of space between tents and different fields for different lenghts of stay. No loud crowds etc as the owners doesnt allow it. The Beach was fabulous and litterally a minute walk. I had a cold/hot shower first time round but the rest were hot. They dont supply toilet paper so take your own. The toilets and showers are not the best Ive seen or used but they work. The owners are friendly and helpful. There is small shop on site for your basics. A pub about 20 minutes walk and the Town 20 mins by car has a butchers and supermarket etc. You can walk to the neighbouring village and see the Worms Head. Would definitely go back.

August 2004 This site only accomadates families and couples. Mr and Mrs Price (the owners) don't need the hassle that goes with gangs of lads/girls, this was one reason why i chose this site. The other reason was the sites location!!..two minutes easy walking to a fantastic safe sandy beach and sea (no life guards) great for the kids with numerous rock pools for them to explore.
The site itself is basic, adequate toilet and shower facilities, free of charge. No toilet paper, this is due to wastage. The showers were clean with set opening times, it was a hit or miss whether you got hot water, there was no electric for hair dryers much to the annoyance of my long haired wife and two daughters.
The shop site was small and sold the essentials, for a small fee it also froze the coolants. My only gripe is that it didnt sell any newspapers. There is no club or entertainment on site therefore we dusted off the indoor/outdoor games and did some family bonding, we all admitted that we enjoyed it!!
If you want some booze and grub the Britania pub was about half a mile away. It's back to basics with the site facilities however the scenery and beach made up for it! The cost to stay there was £12 a night(one tent two adult two children)

July 2004 First of all, we have to say that the site itself is beautiful. Right on the beach, big shallow bay perfect for swimming. Very picturesque, quiet and unspoilt. Accepts families and couples only.
The reception from the lady campsite owner is less than welcoming. Her attitude is abrasive and argumentative. Having said that, once you are on site she doesn't bother you. There is a minimum stay of 2 nights, the showers are only switched on for a few hours per day and when we used them they were cold anyway. You have to take your own toilet roll and the facilities are very basic. The path to the beach is well overgrown with brambles and stinging nettles, but the beach is worth it.

August 2003 On arrival at this campsite we were greeted by a gentleman who told us the rules of the site before informing us of anything else. We booked for a few days and proceeded to our pitch. Whilst having three young boys, a dog, a girlfriend and a lot of equipment in tow. We settled down and found that the site was run smoothly and efficiently.
There was no loutish behaviour, everyone that was allowed onto the site was well chosen. Alec ("the farmer") Price came around one morning and rounded up some of the children for them to see one of his cows was giving birth, the children were so excited about it. During my stay a serious accident happened to one of my close family, I had to rush off quickly to the hospital. Although we had only given our neighbours a kind good morning up until then, we drove off without putting or locking any of our valuables away. It was all done by the families on the camp site. I would like to thank:- Andrew,Brandon and crazy Lyndie and families for what they did.
You might be vetted at the front gate, you might have 20 questions thrown at you but once you get past the gate then you are sure to have a nice clean and totally safe stay at what must be one of the most picturesque camp sites for sunsets this side of the Maldives.
