First time campers my family and two other family's called Ian at lone wolf and asked if he could help a load of camping virgins for one night,he was up for it so we packed up and drove the 20 miles from our homes to the site. We got lost and had to call Ian the owner on the way, he guided us in. We arrived to a large site with flat pitches and a very relaxed feeling. The site has a kitchen you can use with fridge toaster and microwave. The toilets and showers are more than adequate. It was exactly as it says on the box SAFE SECURE AND WELCOMING with plenty of space and even benches by most pitches. THE BEST PART IS IAN LETS YOU HAVE CAMP FIRES WHICH AS ANY BLOKE KNOWS THATS FANTASTIC,REAL FIRES They set you up with everything you need logs ect. The site had ducks wandering around and a river and hills within a short walk, they use a honesty box in the small shop for basic items.

What a great find. I've been searching for ages to find a camp site that will allow an open fire. The owner is refreshingly helpful, he actually wanders around the site and interacts with his customers! Very informal and so laid back I felt I had had two weeks holiday just chatting with him.
Be aware though, if you are wanting a club house, bar and attractions then please stay away as you will quickly become bored, especially if you have kids that expect the same. If, like ours, they're happy to run around a field and feed the free roaming duck then go for it but I would advise some games such as swing ball or cricket.

Five of us spent a very pleasant weekend at the site. We stayed in some woodland, away from the main site. You will not meet a nicer site owner than Ian, who really goes out of his way to help.
Nice facilities, all very clean and tidy, rubbish recycling is available as well. There is a large Tesco supermarket a few minutes drive away, but when you are on site you would not believe there was a town nearby.
Good mobile phone reception
We go back in May

Follow up from the site owner:-
Thanks to everyone who has taken the trouble writing reviews for the site and the fact that they all seem positive show we must be doing something right.
Over winter we have added some extra facilities, those being 2 more flushing toilets, another power shower and a dedicated wash room. We've also done what we can to make those facilities accessible for disabled people. Whenever we asked people for honest feedback, the one thing wives and girlfriends asked for were conventional toilets. We've had the main electrical fuse to the farm uprated to 80 amps now, so that made it possible to add another shower without too much difficulty.
Thanks again for all the nice comments. Ian - Site owner.

This place is ideal if you like to get back to basics. The owner, Ian, is a lovely guy and cannot do enough to help. We are a group of Dads(in our 40s) and Lads (14-17 years) and we camp throughout the year and throughout the land. We have visited Glyn y Mul Farm 4 times over the last two years and the place is simply brilliant, if what you want is 'real camping'. Ian provides braziers made out of beer barrels and sells logs to burn in them. We like to surf and bodyboard and Rest Bay is approx 35 mins drive. In some ways I am loathe to write this review as I do not want too many to find out how good this place is, but Ian deserves to be praised for what he provides. Also he does not rip you off like many of the larger money grabbing commercial sites. Please Ian do not be tempted to grow. We like your one shower and two loos!

What more can I add to the other reviews A great site with very friendly owners We have been here several times once when it was belting down with rain but we still had a great time. Great to be able to have a camp fire We have been to many a campsite and this one deserves all the great reviews it has had

We spent 3 nights at the Glyn Y Mul Farm and it was brilliant. I am not a fan of the big commercial campsites and this was just perfect. Away from the hustle and bustle of normal day to day life no telly no radios just the sounds of nature. The facilities were always clean and the owners always friendly and very helpful. The Farm's campsite is small, very safe and very welcoming. It is definitely somewhere we would visit again to re-charge our batteries.

What a great find this site was! We had planned to stay all week but we cut short our stay because our one year old found the nights a bit cold and was not a happy little camper.
I've really got very little to add to the other reviews. Facilities are basic, but perfectly clean and functional. Loos are portaloo type (one M, one F), and there is an electric shower (one) which is free. The site was relatively quiet when we were there - showers were no problem - the trick was to watch for someone walking back with a towel or wet hair and you knew the shower was available.
There is a kitchen for campers, which you don't find on many sites, equipped with fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. Recycling facilities.
We really liked that you could have a fire. We used one of the half beer kegs that were provided and gathered some firewood - great for sitting round in the evening.

Just arrived home after four wonderful days at Glyn Y Mul Farm. If you really want to get away from it all and not step foot in the car / real world for a while this is definitely the place! We mainly spent our days by the river in the farm's own broadleaf wood, and didn't feel the need to leave the site at all, (although there is plenty to do in the area if you want to get out and about!) The kids (two aged 11 and one of 10) found plenty to do and entertain themselves, gathering fire wood and splashing in the river and riding their bikes a break neck speed down the tump! This is a site for clean, green out-doors folk. This is not a housing estate in a field the way some sites are. The owners are friendly and you feel priviledged to be sharing some of their land for a while. Planning to return soon, and set up camp by the river next time, the perfect antidote to hectic modern life! Facitlites are clean and adquate and the addition of a toaster in the kitchen area was a great treat on the ine morning it was a bit wet and miserable for the kids. I don't think it would be a great site if your kids are used to being entertained with stuff 24/7. This is Enid Blyton land, which for us was absoloutley perfect! Thanks Ian & Jo.

Weather: Hot 2 adults and 2 children (6+9) We went to Glyn Y Mul Farm to test our new tent out. We arrived and was surprised, the site looked clean and tidy, there was a dozen tents and a couple of caravans. Spoke to Ian the site owner and pitched up. Beautiful scenery and a relaxed atmosphere. Three of Four ducks visited the campsite and there where sheep in the next field. The site was cheap to stay at, its a great place for weekends of camping. At the bottom of the field there was toilets and even a kitchen has been installed for the guests. The kitchen had a microwave, kettle, fridge, toaster and sink with hot and cold water supplied (very handy indeed). There are recycling bins for cardboard, glass etc. We enjoyed our stay at the farm and will be going again, just be aware that there is NO kids park or swimming pool on this site, our kids just got on with playing football, colouring, reading and collecting wood to make an outdoor campfire and were very happy indeed. I would reommend this site to anyone, go and find out for yourselves.
