Second time here and again were far from disappointed we love the fact we can camp in the woods have a proper campfire and not have to worry about keeping our dog on a lead, we found a secluded spot next to the river it's absolute heaven.
It has rained for 3 days but were dry and I would rather be here than at home, showers are hot and we brought a portable loo so no runs up to the top in the night.
Drinking water is fine no issues we have used it all week, we even cheated and used a microwave to cook lol the rain stopped our campfire but Ian has a little kitchen.
This place is perfect drove 4 hours to get here we love it that much.

Lone Wolf is a small, quiet, back to basics site. The pitches on the top field are large with plenty of hedges for privacy. Composting loos were fine but quite dark so it might be an idea to take a torch with you.
The camping down by the river is pitch where you like and looked lovely, although quite a walk back up to the loos!
Although there is a train track that separates the main field from the woodland camping I'm not sure how much it it used as we didn't hear a train the entire time we were there.
Perfect location for Afan bike trails. Lovely site. Lovely owners.

I was very impressed with the woodland setting at Glyn Y Mul, and found a nice quiet spot to hang the hammock and hunker down for the night.
There is little dead standing in the woods, but you can purchase a bag of logs for £5, which saw me through the evening to cook on and sit beside the fire.
I took 10 minutes walk into the woods and found a great spot, but it was very wet underfoot.
A great place to wild camp, and I will be back!

Very quiet site. Camping next to the river with camp fire was stunning. The children had great fun exploring and collecting wood for the fire. Wheelbarrows available to take kit down to the river camping area.
Well worth the extra effort, although the top field was almost empty even in the school holiday.
Facilities are VERY basic. Hot shower is good and spacious. Toilets are awful. A wee in the bush is definitely preferable to using the smelly toilets. I would advise taking drinking water as we filled up our water bottles at the site and the water smelt so bad of sewage we threw it away.
A family camping near to us went home early as their child had been sick. Convenient site for exploring the beautiful local area. Afan forest great for both family cycling and mountain biking.
Lovely cycle ride from Swansea marina along the coastal path to The Mumbles. Margam Country Park is a lovely day out.
Had great time at Go Ape.

Stayed here for the second time and hope to be returning again soon.
Very pleased to see they now have dry compositing loos (apart from the other one) which makes a lot of sence in a place like this.
For someone not looking for a tiled showerblock or a fancy wash house this is perfect.
Can get muddy after prolonged rain though and for a first time visitor it may be wise to take a walk through the area first.

What an absolutely fabulous site! Ian, the site owner, is so welcoming and we stayed with our 2 large dogs in a paddock all to ourselves.
It is so peaceful and quiet, with great basic facilities and a hot shower.
There is the wood to walk to dogs and also play in the river. There is enough space to be able to feel as if you have the place to yourself.
I will absolutely be visiting again as is a great place to unwind and to be able to get back to nature.
Love this place!

As close to wild camping as its gets whilst still having access to a loo and shower. Yes the facilities are very basic. But you still have access to drinking water, porto loo and compost loos and a hot shower and the woodland pitch is worth it.
Wood is available to buy from the owner if you forget to bring any. Woods, river, camp fire, privacy, peace and quiet. What more do you want. Could have happily stayed around my tent all day it was so beautiful. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The pitches were reasonably priced. You could have a grass pitch but we came here for the woods and we got an excellent spot.
We will definitely come again in the future.
In the ratings I am scoring facilities low cos they are basic. But it was what we expected. ( I have to score on comparisson with other sites) but you go here for the location of the pitch which is fantastic. You cannot park next to your pitch so come prepared to cart your tent and belongings down to the pitch. It's a bit of effort but well worth it,

Owner could not have been more welcoming and helpful.
Basic farm camping. Just as we like it. Woods and river are amazing.
Wellies required.
Will be returning.
Being able to have fires in the woods next to the river is great.
The older children slept in hammocks under tarps and loved every minute.

The woodland campsite is ideal for campers that just want to get away from it all.
There are also regular grass pitches available for the family campers or those less willing to rough it in the woods. The owners were very accommodating, very helpful when needing Directions or postcodes (for sat nav) for the local shops, attractions etc.
I left my camping chair at home, when I mentioned this to Ian (owner) he said not a problem and provided me with one, this would have been a slight problem as I was in a one man tent that I could not even sit up in, there are logs and such to use in the woods but nothing like a dry chair.
I cannot give rating for facilities as I did not use them, as I was there for the true outdoor experience but everything seemed to be provided, toilets, shower, kitchen etc.
The same for the child friendliness, I was on my own but children would have to be closely supervised in the woodlands as would be expected with a fast moving river running through woods. Overall this was a very pleasurable experience and would recommend highly.
I am being told I must leave ratings on child friendliness and site facilities so I am going to give a rating of 5 for both, this does not reflect much as I did not use a regular pitch to form an opinion on child friendliness but there are a lot of fun things for kids to do in the woods.
As I stated above, I did not use campsite facilities to be able to give an accurate rating but I will say, if it matches customer service then I would expect a higher rating than 5 would have been given. A+++
