I have to agree with the other reviewers, that this is a lovely site.

It was level, water points everywhere, well drained, and there is very easy access to some stunning walks around the New Forest.

Shopping was easy with Fordingbridge just a short drive away, and the "Fighting Cocks" pub is well worth a visit.

The perimeter pitching is great, allowing plenty of room for playing games - although - I must grumble here that the centre of the site is not a race track, we saw too many drivers racing through the middle at unacceptable speeds.  With children running around, we felt really concerned.

My only reservation would be the shower/toilet facilities.  There are only two toilets, two showers, two urinals and two handbasins in the gents to cover 50 pitches and they were very small.

On the basis that groups are able to occupy a single pitch, we had four families on two pitches, and the site was full - the facilities could well do with expanding.

Other than that, this is a fantastic site, and its a real pity that they only open at weekends.

If you want a quick get-away, I would well recommend this.  We will definitely go back

Visited twice (May Bank Holiday and August Bank Holiday) during 2005. I would tell you what a lovely campsite this is with such a wonderfull view and a fantastic location but I don't want anyone else to find out about it. It's horrible, OK?!!

Lovely small site very friendly and helpful, with lovely surroundings and walks. The site was clean, and the toilets and showers were clean and provided soap.

We stayed here for a long weekend with my son, husband and friends. I liked the fact that there was lots of water points all around the site so you didnt have to carry water far.

Had a really pleasant three night stay at Toms field over the bank holiday. This is real camping, not commercialised. No shop (although Co-op close by in local town), swimming pool etc. Just nice friendly simplicity, with beautiful views.

The campsite wasn't overly crowded due to the bank holiday. This meant that the toilets and showers (both very clean with free hot water and toilet rolls, but very small) didn't become too busy, at the most I had to wait 10 mins for the shower, toilets were alwasys available.

There are no washing-up facilities, but this is not a problem as there are plenty of water points to hand so that you can boil your own on pitch.

The pitch was ten metres which meant we could fit our tent and our friends, with plenty of room for tables and chairs.

Most enjoyable and highly recommended.

This was our first camping trip as a family. There were two reasons why we chose Tom's Field. After we had amassed all the camping equipment, we wanted to use it, and as Tom's Field is only open weekends, we thought we would stand a good chance of getting a pitch at short notice, which we did. Secondly, as we like the quiet life, with the limited facilities we thought this would suffice, and it did.

Tom and his wife were very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. He even shows campers around various pitches on his little tractor, much better than a site map!

The showers and toilets were very good, and were visited numerous times during the day by Tom or his wife, to ensure loo roll and hand wash were plentiful, and the cleanliness of the facilities was maintained. The only times there were queues for the showers, were at peak times in the morning and evening, and even then it was only around three people waiting (approx. 10 minutes wait)

I would most definately recommend this site to anyone, and will be returning here many more times in the future!

Lovely site, Tom and his are family very friendly and helpful.

The toilet block is small but clean and well kept (Ive seen worse ones on big sites!) There are plenty of drinking water taps so you dont need to go to far.

The only thing I could complain about is that it's only open weekends during August, such a shame as we would have stayed longer!

The Town is close enough for anything you may need, but far enough away so you really feel out in the woods! As soon as you step out of your tent your on a walk. Fantastic would recommend!!

What a wonderful welcome from Tom and his family. Tom is a top bloke who jump started my car after my kids turned on the lights and left them on.

The view from the field is spectacular.

The loos and showers are lovely and clean. I particulary liked the recycling at all the bins.

Can't wait until they are open again to go and visit.
