This is a lovely campsite catering for tents, caravans and mobile homes - overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's a very family orientated site with a great play park and lots of good will. There are 'rules' that ask that kids are quiet (ie not running around) after 10pm and this was adhered to by all. The toilet block and showers were lovely and there are ample water / waste points around the site. The dog walking area is fine and when we were there all dogs were kept under control. The aerodrome is close and when aircraft did fly over it was loud - but that wasn't often and certainly not at night. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly go again and recommend.

A very nice site with everything you could need. Toilets and showers were all clean and working-showers had to have 20p for use but they gave enough hot water for even my kids long hair! Laundry room was new and reasonable-£4.00 for 8kgs wash and dry. Site was central to everywhere-coast or country. A great play area for younger kids and a fenced in area to walk dogs-no nasty surprises on the grass areas! Weather was kind to us but I think the site would soon become waterlogged in a wet week-poor drainage. Take some slip on shoes with a thick sole as the site is covered with large gravel / rocky areas which can be felt through thin soles-kills your feet after a while! Owners very nice and helpful. Small shop sells milk and garage and newsagents just up road. The little cafe in the village is Ok and flexible will cook to order. Check out the Pig and Whistle on the way to Preston for a great carvery at a good price. Site cost us less than £70 for 4 nights in a tent with 5 of us. Will visit again but will check the weather forecast first. 9/10

Just got back following a fantastic bank holiday weekend break at Oaklands. We went with my sister who has a tent & my in-laws who have a caravan. Between us we had 8 children ranging from 1 - 13 & they had the best time ever. The site has a brilliant play area, which is apparently new, & we were pitched just a 10 second walk away. Also, despite the fact we were in 3 different types of unit the site had done it's utmost to place us as close to each other as possible. The toilet block was immaculate & the site was very clean & well-organised. The staff were extremely helpful. The reception is also the site shop & stocks a few basics & quite a lot of camping equipment. Off site there is a little supermarket, a great chippy & a pub, which serves food all day, nearby. The only potential drawback was the play equipment has apparently taken the spot where the football posts used to be & so kids (including ours) ended up playing football near to other campers. The site owner did say that they could play in the large dog walk area but they would have to be careful as not all dog owners cleaned up their dog mess, despite them being asked too. Also some of the other comments have mentioned the play area did mean a lot of noise, obviously having children this was not an issue to ourselves, but the play area is tucked away in one corner & if this was a potential concern for yourselves you could ask to be sited further away from it. All-in-all we had a great weekend & will definitely be back to this site again.

Just returned from a wet weekend. My son and his girlfriend also stayed on the site in a tent. The bad weather turned the ground into a swamp not much drainage at all and walking anywhere was terrible. There are quite a few shops and pubs within a 3/4 mile radius and the site is about 15 mins from blackpool. The drive there through St Annes and Lytham is quite pleasant. The campsite was quite busy with a lot of family tents and I think most people thought tents became soundproof at nights because most were just as noisy as in the daytime. The site has also added a large playground which attracted children until late so this added to the noise The site itself is basic but clean and the toilets are lovely and clean all the time. The shop where you obtain your barrier card and toilet key has a few things stocked. The owner is very pleasant. This is my second visit and I enjoyed my first visit more. The first weekend was in June and although the weather was better the campsite was much quieter. Definitely a site I would use again but only in the quieter months.

After driving around the Blackpool area for a couple of hours trying to find a decent site ,that still accepts tents ,we finally arrived here. [ It may be worth noting at this point, that I did actually call the campsite in the afternoon and was told there were no vacancies. We appeared at the door in desperation several hours later on the off chance and the owners were happy to accommodate us.] I must say, compared to some of the other sites we saw, this one was the best. The toilets and showers were clean and tidy, although you do have to step outside the shower cubicle in a towel to feed the meter. Not very convenient. The pitches were flat and perfect for pitching tents and a fabulous new play park was just being completed. The site was within easy reach for Blackpool and Lytham and all the attractions and has a small shop for bits and pieces. On arrival you are handed a set of strict rules, I was a bit paranoid our three boys might make too much noise but they were little angles as we tired them out all day. Will definitly return next year.

This site is a lovely site. Toilets were clean they have only been done recently so are new which helps. Pitches were good sizes and the owners were extremely pleasant. The location is great if you want to go into Blackpool. The reception sells essentials bread milk etc gas bottles ice lollies and sweets. This is our 2nd visit and we will certainly return to it as the location is ideal just an hour from home. The site is very well maintained and looks like there is ongoing work being done to update the site.

A very pleasant little site! The weather was gorgeous, which really made our trip, could be quite different if its cold and wet. St Anne's is a must see and Lytham is also a pretty little town. Plenty of room on the site for a game of rounders and tents mixed in with tourers makes for a better atmosphere. Considering we were less than an hour from home, we had a really lovely long Easter weekend. Great car boot up the road on the Sunday too! A good all round family site. The only down side I could not get the shower to warm up!
