Once again my dog Katie and I have had a wonderful stay at this campsite.
The showers and toilets are always in pristine condition with constant hot water available at all times.
There are some great walks to be had including the walk along the path that used to be the railway line from Exmouth to Budleigh salterton.
There is a pub at the end of Maer lane and a lovely thatched restaurant nearby.
The walk to the beach is about one mile from the campsite, and there are spectacular walks along the cliff tops, but please keep your dog on a lead as there are lots of rabbits on the tops and dogs have been badly injured by cliff falls.
Mary and Frank are the perfect hosts and go out of their way to be helpful.
This is by far the very best campsite I have visited, and will be back with Katie come 2011.
Many thanks to The National Trust for providing the perfect holiday destination.

This was our first time camping with the kids so chose a small quiet site so we could keep an eye on them. This was a good choice. Good shower block, a little dated but clean. Friendly owner who booked us in and it was inexpensive. Mostly tents and the site was fairly flat.
Close to Exmouth beach which although windy has fine light sand.
The site is a short drive away to The World of Country Life which is a good wet weather day out for the children.
Further away is Crealy or Bicton Gardens which are also great kids wet weather centres.

Stayed at this lovely site for a weekend break with my brother and his wife who have never camped before, luckily the weather was on our side. The toilets and showers are spotless and the owners have even thought of little things like pottys for infants and even a baby bath!
The shop is small but sells the needy basics, Every body on the site was so friendly we really could have stayed longer. The walk to Exmouth beach takes about twenty minutes. We actually walked to the big campsite down the road and came back the cliff path walk. So for walkers plenty of choice. Will definitely be going back before the seasons out

Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night visit to Prattshayes. Mary and Frank are very friendly, chatty and helpful wardens.
Only slight downside is the occasional smell from the nearby sewage works, although Mary did say that the company are trying to remedy this after a number of complaints.
We can certainly recommend the food and friendliness of the nearby 'Clinton Arms'-(went there to drown our sorrows after England's defeat to Germany)- food is reasonably priced, delicious and only a 10-15 minute stoll from the site.
Buses run into Exmouth every 20 mins. From 'The Green' in Littleham village although it's almost as quick to walk as the bus takes about 25 mins to get into the centre of Exmouth. We've recommended the site to friends and will certainly be returning in the near future.

Visited this site with a group of 10 older campers (55 plus) as we thought it would be nice and quiet. The site is lovely and flat, toilets and showers clean and the warden very helpful. However she let a group of all male young men put around 8 small tents in only 2 pitches near to ours. Needless to say the late night noise and dreadful language spoilt both Friday and Saturday nights sleep, not quite the image of the National Trust.
All very apologetic in the morning but far too little too late. Also the smell from the nearby sewage works was at times almost overpowering but not the fault of the site owner but should be noted. If we had known this site allowed all male groups we would not have booked.

Once again a lovely time spent with my best friend 'Katie'.
This campsite continues to be the best we have visited.Mary, the camp warden is most helpful and spends a lot of her time making sure everyone has a happy time.
The toilets and showers are kept in pristine condition even when the site is full and there is a constant supply of hot water at all times.
The beach is within walking distance as is the town centre of Exmouth.
There are also lovely cliff top walks to be had which are very well looked after by the National Trust who's hard work needs to be appreciated.
Once again I count the months till my next visit come 2010.

Another great holiday at Prattshayes, this time with my dog, Katie, who loves Mary, the campsite host, as much as she loves me.
The showers and toilets were in clean and spotless condition at all times of the day.
The site is within walking distance of the lovely beach and there are delightful cliff top walks to be had.
Exmouth town centre is about two miles from the site and has all the shops and cafes that you will find in most modern town centres.
I must also thank Mary and Frank for all their help and friendship
2009 can't come soon enough for Katie and me.

This is a National Trust owned site with an on site Warden. The warden, Mary was very helpful but at the time of visiting the site was full and toilet facilities a little tired. The facilities could do with additional cleaning as they soon became in poor condition.
Walkers or families with children should be aware that the narrow lane outside this site is used as a 'rat run' for traffic between Exmouth sea front and one of the largest static caravan sites in the UK. The speed of some vehicles driven by young inexperienced drivers is horrendous. Much care is required. Apart from this the site is very pleasant for families and individuals alike.

Just visited this site after a three year break from the area. The site warden Mary was a lovely lady who couldnt do enough for us. There is a small well stocked shop, freezer facilities and a lovely clean toilet and shower block. Free hot water is always on tap and a clean washing up area is provided. You can borrow a BBQ if you want to or use the brick build ones at the botom of the field. The site is a small field with about 30 pitches most having electric hook up. The field is well kept and is surrounded by a natural hedgerow. While we were there it rained heavily making the field very wet and muddy however Mary came out to check everyone was OK daily and offered campers ground sheets and gazeebos to keep them dry. Love this rural site, very relaxing and all you need to have a quiet family holiday.

Have visited this site for five years now. The amazing warm welcome from campsite wardens Mary and Frank is what keeps us coming back. The beautiful jurassic coastline is only a 15min walk from the site while Exmouth town centre is just over a mile away. Lovely clean solar showers, clean toilets, a freezer on site for ice blocks, a well stocked little shop for the basics plus Mary,s amazing cream teas and meals at the tea rooms. If you want a simple rural campsite but just a few of lifes luxuries this is for you. A good mix of campers even in August traditionally kiddy time. Have to add that Frank keeps a well stocked shed in case you have forgotten anything,(even supplied a family with a tent one summer)!Cannot wait to return this year 2008
