We had a brilliant four night stay here just over a week ago. The owners are really helpful, there is a very useful shop on site, the toilets and showers are extremely clean and there is even a microwave and kettle for campers’ use along with a large fridge and large chest freezer. There are no pitches as such, just acres and acres of space.
The local area is very pretty, we walked to the beach at Hartland Quay which is interesting although sadly it wasn’t very warm! We wouldn’t recommend the pub at Hartland Quay as even the cheesy chips were bad, however a trip to the museum was good.
We also walked over to the gardens at Docton Mill where we had the most amazing cream tea. Another good walk, although a little longer is along the coastal path to the lighthouse and back via Hartland Village.
We’ll definitely return to this campsite and would thoroughly recommend it.

A lovely camp site on a working farm. We went when the site was very quiet and practically empty. Amenities on site are good, we were in the main field with a toilet block and washing up facilities. Toilets were spotless. Showers were hot but are located near the reception. Little shop was very good. There is a barn where you can freeze your ice blocks or a fridge and a freezer to store you food/milk etc which is free of charge.
While we were there the weather was quite changeable, sun one min and then sea fog. Loads of walks near by and there is a pub down near the beach with spectacular views of the Atlantic. On a clear day you can see Lundy Island.
The nearest supermarket was a bit of a drive but we found an Asda and a Morrison's in Bideford as well as the nearest petrol station. Bude isn't so far away but there are lots of little beaches that you fall upon by accident up and down the main road from the campsite.
On site my O2 phone couldn't get a signal but my husbands 3 phone did, and the TV ariel wouldn't work but some caravans did get a TV signal who were in different parts of the site.
Lastly the owners are brilliant. Very helpful and always said hello and would help you if needed.
If your very active then this is the perfect site for you but also perfect is you want to relax.
Lots of places to visit near by. This is a site I'll visit again.

A nice away from it all site set in beautiful wildflower meadows rarely seen these days. We were allocated a pitch in the main field which suited us but could be a problem for some people in bad weather as block with toilets and basins and washing up and water and waste water were quite a hike across the field so would say make sure you get nearer that block if necessary for you. Only used site showers twice as right at entrance to site and an even longer trek but that was a small thing as such a nice site otherwise. Lovely sunsets can be enjoyed around the camp fire, and so peaceful. Nice short grass walk across fields to Hartland Quay and a great little play area with super trampoline in corner of one field. All in all a charming spacious site with friendly relaxed owners who have taken the time to make a lovely place to be shared and enjoyed by lots of happy campers.

We stayed at this site to walk the South West Coast path which it is ideally positioned to do. The bus stop is about 1. 5 miles away in Hartland village, and the walk to get there is along lanes, but this was not as problematic as we had originally imagined as on a weekday morning there was not too much traffic.
We arrived after a wet spell and the camping fields were wet and very muddy in places. Our comment as with the majority of the campsites we stay at are that the facilities would be under a lot of pressure if the site was full, but whilst we were there we didn’t have to queue for anything and there is soap and paper towels/driers in the toilets, there are also power points in the toilets for hairdryers etc which are free, which is good.
There is also a small shop which is open twice a day selling essentials, and camp freezer, fridge and microwave. I thought the ladies facilities were very good (some brilliant shower rooms!) but my partner thought that the men’s facilities were small and cramped, and not particularly clean.
We ended up staying here twice on our holiday as the first time we were unable to walk our second day of coast path due to thick fog and a forecast for it to remain the rest of the day, we left a very wet boggy site, moving to another part of North Devon. We returned 2 days later in brilliant sunshine and all the mud had dried out and we were treated to an amazing sunset, we sat outside our camper watching the sun drop below the horizon.
Hartland appears to be a place of extreme weather! There is a path/route to Hartland Quay and the South West coast path across fields from the site. The site owners are very nice and all in all this is a site we would definitely return to.

We were met by a very friendly farmer and 3 lovely dogs and a couple of cats that made us really miss home! We were taken to a field that gave us a lovely view past the silage bales to the ocean beyond. From here it's a bit of a hike back down to the farmhouse to the converted cowshed bathrooms and toilets. Double check that you havent forgotten anything! Unusual and very quaint. We pumped money into the washing machine, which worked intermittently, and clothes dryers, which tumbled but didn't seem to dry at all, as if we were in a casino! We departed the next morning with two loads of wet clothes hoping for more luck at our next destination!

We visited Stoke Barton for a week end of August / begining September, arriving early Sunday morning. Right from the word go we were made to feel extremely welcome and were shown a selection of pitches and advised of the inclement weather that was expected to help us make our decision.
We settled on a small field just up on the right hand side past the farm house, surrounded by hedgerows giving some shelter. The owners were very firendly, even giving the kids 'joy rides' in th eback of the tractor.
The views over the North Atlantic / Lundy Island are beatiful when the weather allows.
The shower / washing facilities were ok, the gents were functional, whereas the ladies were a little bit more special. Dishwashing faciilities were excellent, only 3 sinks but were equipped with cloths, dish brushes, washing up liquid and surface spray - despite there being only 3 sinks, at no time was I waiting to wash up as has been the case at other campsites.
The weather did turn nasty for a couple of days, buth there is plenty to do in the surrounding area, ideally located for both north devon and cornwall.
From the camp itself, there are some lovely walks down to Hartland Quay, the lighthouse and coastal paths for those that don't want to venture too far with the 'paths' across the field being marked out by the owner in his tractor.
The shop is well stocked with basic food supplies, logs, braziers and the best scones in Devon!
Highly recommend for a visit.

Wow what a fantastic campsite. No set pitches and so much space to make your own 'camp'. Loads of space for kids, adults and dogs to play, including kite flying. Family that own the site are lovely.
Great play area for little kids, shop (great cakes and scones, limited opening hours), showers and toilets clean (we queued for 10 minutes once for a shower, but that's no problem), washing and washing up facilities great and the duck barn with microwave, kettle and table, such a lovely touch.
Shops, beach (westward ho) within 13 mile drive. A quiet site, plenty of space, lovely owners, beautiful views and sunsets. It was windy a lot so make sure you have decent kit. But that was great as we did some fab kite flying! We'll definitely go back!

We've been to quite a few different places now and above all other camp-sites this was easily the best!
Extremely friendly owners, we were made to feel very welcome by them.
Even the bags of wood were thought through for £4.50 you get a decent sized bag of logs and even kindling.
Toilet blocks were clean and the showers etc were really nice!
There's a great park with a trampoline!
The views are great, the walks are great.
Its not crowded!
Its very well managed not over managed!
The perfect camp-site ran by people with common sense and courtesy xx
The only comment we would have would be that due to the size of the place maybe more toilet/shower blocks are needed in the far fields.

Lovely site with sea views and great walks accessible from the site. The quay is particularly nice where there is a pub and a beach (no dogs unfortunately).
The site can be very windy but there is some shelter from hedges.
Facilities are mostly good; toilet block is aged but kept clean. Women's showers are modernised but the men's are not. But this is a working farm and there are difficulties siting new amenity blocks on fields a long way from the house.
The owners are very pleasant and helpful. I would definitely return.

This site was perfect for us, I teach all year so try to stay on adult only sites and although this site is child friendly it is so big & spacious we didn't hear any noise from anyone day or night We took our two dogs & it was great for them, lots of walks straight from the sight, take your tic remover though as lots of long grass & fields grazed by sheep. If you are going for beautiful sandy beaches you will be disappointed, but the staggeringly beautiful rocky coastline more than makes up for it. We walked sections of the coastal path straight from the site, hard work but fantastic. We also walked from the site to Hartland Abbey which was a lovely day out. The walk to Hartland point & the pub is lovely although the food at the pub isn't great, lots of burger & chips type stuff. Clovelly & Appledore were lovely. Susie's tea room in Appledore is a must, lovely cafe, garden service & food.
