Great site. Really friendly owners. Close to everything you need. Great value.
Only one thing, the pitch next to the bin store flooded when it rained, this pitch really shouldn't be used unless they sort out the drainage. If your reading this please don't pitch there
All in all great site.

Have returned from a two night break here on the best weekends weather this year.
Needed help from some local people to find the site, but think this was mainly because of arriving after dark.
The farmer greeted us and showed us the pitch, toilets etc, then kindly helped us push the caravan into the pitch as we were skidding when we tried to reverse.
The site is well laid out with conifer hedging between pitches on the caravan area and a field close by for tents.
Operates a recycling bin area.
Has a newly decorated shower block, consisting of 3 toilets and 2 showers in the ladies, the same in the gents.
Showers work of 50 pence coin, for with you get 10 minutes and plenty of hot water.
The pot wash area in close to the eslan point, the hot water here was on a meter, but we didn't use it.
The site has a warden who is close to the toilet block and a shop (also by the toilet block).
We didn't use it, but the price list was reasonable.
Lovely clean site, to be recommended

What a bargain! 12 pound for the night with electric hook-up, in your own conifer-screened bay as previous reviewers have mentioned. I was worried that the trees might cut out the lovely spring sun but no problem - light all through the day.
I got a warm welcome from the warden and found the facilities spotless throughout the weekend even though it was fairly busy.
As others have said you need 50p for the showers but this is more than fair for the quality and I'd rather pay for usage than double the price on frankly very inferior sites.
My pitch backed onto the road but I personally didn't find the road noise too bad, though if you're worried I'm sure you could request one on the other side of the field.
It's a nice 20 minute walk into Hunmanby by footpath or minutes by car. Recommended for sure - I fully intend to return to this lovely site in my favourite bit of Yorkshire.

On arrival I was met by the warden who showed me to my pitch. A lovely little site on 1st impressions, however as my stay continued I was disappointed to see the toilets getting grubbier and grubbier and their can't have been more than a handful staying on the site.
There is a road running by the site albeit not busy but certainly enough heavy traffic, tractors and lorries, plus the train track can't have been that far away as could regularly hear the trains.
I liked the fact their were 2 washup areas although you didn't get much hot water for your 20p.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at this lovely friendly site. The pitch was level and the surrounding conifers and hedges were well kept.
There was a shop that sold virtually anything you could need at really reasonable prices and even took orders for the daily paper. Showers and toilet facilities were kept nice and clean. Hot water for washing up didn't get as warm as I would have liked.
Village of Hunmanby had a great butchers (would definitely recommend their sausages) and some great pubs serving very reasonably priced food, with very friendly staff. Site not too far from Hunmanby Gap by car - the dogs loved their daily run on the beach and paddle in the sea.
Would definitely recommend this site and plan to return next year. Brilliant site for the money.

What a fantastic site - I really can't praise it enough!
This is a small, very friendly site with three touring sections (totalling around 25 pitches), a few seasonal pitches and a separate C&CC field with room for 6 vans (no tents allowed on this bit as the ground is unsuitable).
The shower block is lovely with 2 showers (50p for 10 mins), three toilet cubicles (inc 2 with basins) and two basins in the ladies. This was all kept spotlessly clean and we didn't have to queue once in the 9 days we were there. Also has a coin-operated hairdryer (50p).
The shop is probably the best stocked I've ever seen on a site and sells pretty much everything you could need and the prices rival the big supermarkets. The best thing about the shop though is the freshly baked croissants they sell in the morning - lovely!
There is no play area for children and no games room so they all tend to mingle in the middle of the paddocks. This meant it was a bit lively during the day but the warden did make sure that ball games were kept well away from tents. Probably wouldn't recommend to anyone looking for a quiet site during the school holidays though! That said, by 10pm each night it was silent.
The nearest beach is only a couple of miles away at Hunmanby Gap and Scarborough, Whitby, Filey and Bridlington are all within easy reach so there's plenty to do, whatever the weather.
All in all, this site is pretty much perfect and we can't wait to visit again.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay and are impressed by this site. Good size level pitches - ours overlooked a wheat field - so we had uninterrupted views over the countryside, and marvellous sunsets.
We were in the 'top field' personally I think this is the best part of the campsites as the pitches with hedges separating them are a little too enclose for us. (no views) although you would be sheltered from the wind, which was quite strong during part of our stay.
Good open space in the middle of the field so didn't feel hemmed in, plenty of space for children to play.
We visited over a weekend when the site was full and there was very little noise, just a few families playing cricket etc. All very well behaved.
The on site shop is well stocked with essentials and prices are quite reasonable.
Washing, showering and toilet facilities are clean, could perhaps do with a water tap at top end of the field, but this is only a minor gripe.
Warden very pleasant and friendly.
Great value for money at £12 per night including electricity.
All in all a very pleasant stay and we will return when we next visit that area.

Saxdale House farm is peaceful site offering basic but adequate facilities. Hot water for washing up was 20p but didn't last long enough to do a full wash. Most pitches appeared to be level. Our pitch was within a hedged area which provided good shelter from strong winds. The tent field was quite exposed to the winds though. The shop wasn't open during our stay so I can't comment on this. Overall this is a nice affordable site and one I would return to.

We used this site for five nights over the Easter week which was very nice site. 50p for a shower, nice and clean showers and toilets but not heated. Nice and level site. Nice welcome from the warden when we got there. There's a shop on site. Also very windy at times, wind breaks you need at times. Easy to get to Filey and Scarborough and Bridlington. Nice for that little short break away.

We used this site for a weekend break on the recommendation of a friend and will definitely be using it again for a longer break. There is a very sheltered 7 pitch area immediately at the entrance (I presume this is the CCC CS part of the site) and 2 more touring fields beyond this.
There is a small shop that is open for an hour in the morning and evening. The toilets and showers (50p) are clean and well kept but are not heated so may be a bit cold in the winter months, there were no queues but as it was a very windy weekend the site was quiet.
There was a small dog walk on site but there is access to a field across the road which was better for letting the dog loose. We used the fish and chip shop in Hunmanby which was very good and there are also quite a few pubs in the village.
The site is well positioned for Filey which is about 2 miles away. Scarborough and Bridlington are about 10 miles away. At £10 per night with electric this pleasant site is fantastic value for money.
