This is a lovely little site that has basic but clean facilities which reflect the great price £12 with EHU. The tent field is about half the size of the rally field which are next to each other and both flat, separated by a small hedge. It was the sectioning of the site which made it very personal. This looks great for caravans which are surrounded by a 10ft hedge and are sectioned into spaces for the caravan, vehicle and space to sit out and relax.

We were placed in the rally field, which has a spectacular view of rolling fields to the horizon. The owner has planted saplings which hopefully won't block the view, although when pitching up, the wind had been coming from the west and came off the field so this planting will help to protect. Saying that when the sun was out, it was a perfect suntrap.

There are two showers and three toilets for the ladies and same again for the fellas, although the male showers have been renovated and look very nice. It was 50p for 10 minutes and there were little signs simply asking for respect for the facilities, such as leaving it clean and tidy and turning the lights off, like you would at home! These were polite notices and made you want to look after this little site.

There is also a small shop open 8.30am - 9.30am and 5.30pm - 6.30pm for forgotten necessities, kids sweets, tent pegs and freezers for chilling ice packs.

Hunmanby is a large village and it is probably a good 10-15 minute walk from the site, although there is a co-op and other local shops including a fish and chip shop and pizza takeaway. It is also about 2 miles from Hunmanby Gap, part of Filey beach.

Filey is of course worth a visit, a small town with a beautiful beach (although I am biased) as for parking, there are large carparks in the centre of the town behind the bus station and to the North at Country Park and to the South at Glen Gardens, both access the parks and the beach.

The only down side to the site is that there isn't really anywhere to walk, as there is only a grass verge to the road outside the site and although the site did have a 'dog walk' this was in comparison to the site 'small'. Saying that, we were able to let the dog have a free run, by going onto the grass tracking field which is opposite Saxdale House, obviously there wasn't any racing that weekend.

All in all a lovely peaceful site, which we will definitely go to again.

One of our most favourite Campsites, it's peaceful but kids are welcome! Toilets and showers are clean and the little shop is well stocked and priced! We have used this site 5 times already this year, and will be back! Owners are very friendly and make you feel very welcome,
Hunmanby is a lovely village and close to Scarborough and Filey!

This is the second time we have been here, booked the Thursday for the day after and YIPEE they had space over the Easter weekend. Lots of tent space, toilets/showers clean, owners friendly. Rates for a night in a 4 man tent 2 adults 2 dogs £8.Bargain. Will defo be returning as its a fantastic, friendly sight and even though its rates are cheap it doesn't effect its standards.

In February a week or so after the heavy snow, I had the mad idea of going camping in a tent for 4 nights! As the ground was still wet, the owner kindly offered us the use of a touring pitch instead of the tent field which was much appreciated. The site itself is just what we like, friendly, quiet and has all the basic facilities e.G. Clean toilets, shower. They were working on finishing off the new men’s toilet block so more toilets will be available. The price is extremely reasonable and made it a nice cheap break.

For the first 2 days my sister and her 3 kids joined me, although it was a little cold at night we all survived! This campsite is perfectly located in the middle of the countryside but only 5 minutes drive from Hummanby village which has shops, pubs and lovely fish and chips. It is only a few miles from Filey and about 9 miles from both Scarborough and Bridlington so is an ideal base for visiting the East coast. We spent a day in Filey and were the typical brits on holiday, wrapped up in layers sat on beach while the kids played in the sand and sea. We also visited Bridlington so the kids could go on the rides etc.

When my sister left, my friend and her dog moved in! We discovered Hummanby Gap which was a lovely beach where you can walk to Filey. It was perfect, my friend was on her fossil hunt, the dog was enjoying paddling and fetching stones and I just ambled along enjoying the peace.

We will definitely be visiting again (this weekend hopefully!) and my sister has booked with some friends to go in May.

Pleasant campsite, toilets clean and no waiting for loos or showers. Owners very pleasant and chatty, we were the only tent in the rally field and it was rather open to the elements, though we survived the heavy rain, winds and thunder storms. We walked away unscathed :o)

Will visit again

The site is well kept, the toilet blocks were clean, the owner was very friendly.

Found that you have to get to Filey at around 8.30am to get disabled parking.

Have booked again for September.

The Fish and chips from Hunmanby are Gorgeous

Try visiting the Stained Glass Centre, at Killerby lane Cayton, Really good tearoom with lovely home made cakes at reasonable prices.

Great little site, eight pounds per night with electric, very spacious pitches, the main ones are hedged in by large conifer hedges, children can play ball games in an adjacent field used for rallies. Toilet facilities basic but very clean, never had to queue, even though it was a glorious weekend. Couldn't get a parking space in Filey either day, but loads of room at Hunmanby gap, the kids loved it, stayed there all day both days. Owners very friendly and helpful, open the small shop for essentials twice per day, would definitely go again! Camping and caravan club certificated site.

We've stayed at this site several times, the owner and his helpers are always very friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

The site is on the top of the hill and can be windy but we didn't find this a problem.

Small shop on site which is reasonably priced, sells pegs and various other essentials too, also several shelves of books available as a site library, adults books only as far as I could see, didn't see any children's. Papers can be ordered upon request. Tourist leaflets are also available at the shop.

Toilets are a bit basic but kept quite clean and tidy, showers are 50p. There is also a separate dog walk with bin at end of it or you can cross the road and there is a walk through some fields which our dogs enjoyed.

Will be going again next year.

Friendly welcome in the pouring rain from the owner, we were directed to a lovely private spot in the front part of the site which has hedging on 3 sides of your pitch, with plenty of room. Right in the country but the bird scarer was annoying as it went all day and started very early in the morning. The toilet facilities were minimal with both mens and womens together in the shed type building with only one shower in each and only one toilet in the mens!

Just returned from the Spring Bank weekend break at this site. Site is lovely and flat with plenty of space for tents and tourers. As we were a group of 4 tents we were placed in the Rally field which seemed to be open to the elements. Even though we were pitched against a large hedge we still encountered strong winds both in the rain and in the finer weather too. The site as a whole is value for money at 7 pound per night. Only main problem if any if is the lack of toilet/shower facilities. 2 ladies toilets, 1 toilet and 1 urinal for men and 1 shower for each of the sex's.
There is a small site shop selling essentials you may have forgotten and excellent home baked scones. Village amenity's are a pleasant 25 minute walk.
Would visit again but would check the weather forecast before leaving home. For the end of May it was more like February.
