Sssshhhh don't tell anyone about this site!. When we first arrived we had a lovely welcome from Ellen and Stan, they are both two lovely people who would go out of there way for you. The site itself is very family orientated with not too many rules or regulation, just respect your fellow campers, which really goes without saying, the toilet block is perfectly adequate for the size of the site and the views are spectacular (we where very fortunate though that we had 5 days of glorious weather). Lligwy beach is one of the most stunning bays I have ever seen, in fact what we did manage to see of Anglesey was beautiful. Our children spent ages with the animals and adored the donkeys and cats. The Pilot Boat Inn is within walking distance of the site and served lovely meals and have a play bus for the children (as well as a beer garden with a play area also). We cant recommend this site enough and we will definitely return on our next visit to Anglesey.

We had a 3 night stay which included the bank holiday. The site was busy but not excessively so. We were in the overflow field which had gently sloping pitches. The views from this field were spectacular. The owners and staff were very friendly when we checked in and we were shown to our pitch and shown the facilities. There seemed to be plentiful hook ups available but we didn't use one.
The toilets were new and were kept very clean. There was always toilet paper and paper towels but there was no soap for handwashing. There was 3 toilets and 3 showers in the ladies. I had a big problem with the middle shower, so try to use one of the others as there seemed to be no problem with the others. There was also 2 washing up sinks in a shed near the toilet block. Could have done with a bin in here. There was always plentiful hot water.
Our kids complained that there was nothing to do. There was no playground and no areas to 'explore', as there has been on other sites we have visited. They were happy enough with a football though and would be great for kites as there always seemed to be a good breeze even though the weather was sunny.
The pub that was close by was great as it had a play area for the kids and there was some kind of fun bus, which they loved.
Ligwy beach is close by and is stunning. The site says it is walking distance but it would have been a very good walk and the walk back would have been quite a steep uphill one. I would recommend the car!
Shops, chippy and garage just a few minutes dive away.
This site has everything you need and I really couldn't complain about anything. However, it didn't really inspire me as one of my favourite sites.

We visited the end of may bank holiday sun - tues, 2a, 2c & 1 dog, with another family on adjacent pitch. We were on the overflow field which had amazing views over the bay. The staff made us feel very welcome and helped us when they discovered the tent next door was taking over half of our pitch! The shower & toilet block was cleaned regularly throughout the day - could have done with shelves to put wash bags and a few more hooks though. We would visit again - Anglesey is so beautiful and there is so much to explore. Lligwy beach is a few miles away, almost opposite the site and offers kayak hire, shallow waters, good headland walks and dogs are welcome. £2.50 to park all day or less after 2pm.

We have just returned from a short (3 night) stay at Fedw Uchaf and have to say it is one of the best family campsites we have ever visited.
The prices were good and the staff were very welcoming and helpful and were happy to mind our trailer till 4pm on the laast day (free of charge) so we could do the puffin Island cruise before we went.
The facilities were perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean, the site was a good size and the views from our tent each morning were stunning (I recommend the `overflow field` bit exposed but what a view)
The kids (12,11 & 4) adored the animals and the site is close to Lligwy Beach which is one of the safest and cleanest beaches I have ever come across. There are also loads of other kid friendly activities in this part of Anglesey (we didn't see one `high street` type junk food outlet on the whole of the island).
All in all 100% recommended family campsite. We will use this site next time we visit Anglesey.

A group of touring caravans visited this site at Bank Holiday weekend beginning of May 2009. The site is cheap, we paid £15.00 for a caravan with electric hook up - which is reasonable these days. Please bear this in mind when reading this review and others.
The site itself has lovely views over Anglesey. This means that it is high up. To get to the site you have to travel up a very narrow (1 passing point) steep road. There are 3 fields. The one immediately at the top of the hill is for caravan club members. To get to the non caravan club members field you have to turn sharp right and very very sharp left to get into the field. This field is also the only access to the non electric hook up camping field so it gets busy due to the through way traffic.
The toilets and showers are new and located in a purpose built portacabin. Very cold and basic. Showers are warmish but extremely slow. It takes a good 20 mins to shower. There are 3 toilets and 3 showers for women. There are also 3 sinks but they have no privacy doors so if you like a swill rather than a shower, be prepared. If you want to use the toilets and showers you have to pay an additional £1 per night which you pay up front.
There is also a very small washing up area for campers which is good. Not sure if there s an extra fee for using these as we did not use them.
Chemical area is just a hole, water area is located high on the wall, so make sure you take a long pipe, normal size does not reach.
Ellen, the owner is very friendly. This site has lots of rules. No noise after 10.30pm. Gates locked at 11.00 sharp. No visitors without agreement. They have cctv so they keep an eye on you all the time. We had a visitor and ellen was out like a shot to remind us of the rules. All the rules on this site were too long to mention but I can say they did not affect us. However, if the weather was lovely and warm aand we wanted to sit out at night they would. However, it was cold in the evenings so we were happy to be in our van come 10.30pm.
I would recommend this site to campers more than caravanners due to the access. Ground is very soft and the legs on our van sunk regularly which meant it was hard to get the van level.
Cheap and cheerful and good location. A good base for cheap getaway and if you are not fussy. Would we return? No, not in a caravan and certainly not in a twin axle.

What a Gem of a campsite. We had the most wonderful welcome with lots of information on the facilities available and what was around locally. A brand new toilet block which was very clean with nice hot showers (a few people were complaining about the temperatures but we found them great!).
Good shops 5 mins drive away in either direction.
The beach nearby is lovely and lots of walks to explore. Great Robinsons pub within walking distance which provides great hearty hot food at reasonable prices (The Pilot Boat)
We really can't wait for our next visit!.

We stayed at this beautiful campsite at Easter this year.
Ellen, Stan and all their staff were absolutely the most lovely, welcoming and genuine people we've ever met.
The site is lovely with sea views, fairly level pitches and camp wasn't too big, just right.
The beach is just five minutes away by car, and you can easily have a lovely walk to it. It's great too for rock pooling and fishing as there's lots of rocks. There are many beaches to choose from in this area.
As well as lots of birds and wildlife on the camp they have their animals, and we saw a day old baby Larma! Great for kids to see the animals.
The toilet facilities were close by and had literally just been finished, some people did a bit of moaning about teething problems, but come on, give them a chance they were working so hard to fix things, we're very stressed and they did their best to fix the showers for the 1st Easter day, so well done to them. We didn't have a problem with this and the showers were nice and hot, basic, but simple and clean and the toilets are cleaned regularly.
If you're into climbing, snowdon and the rest of the mountains are only an hour away by car and we climbed Snowdon whilst we were there.
Shops are just a short car ride away, with Asda and Tesco around half an hour away.
Lots of nice pubs, cafes and craft shops in the area too.
We'd really recommend this site, and we are definitely going back. You won't meet nicer people than Stan and Ellen and their staff.

This was the first time I had taken my family camping and I couldn't have been made more welcome by the owners Stan and Ellen. The site has lovely views and was quiet at night. The toilet / shower facilities were basic but clean and I have since visited and the new block is well under way to being completed. We were made to feel at home and we will return time and time again.

Just stayed 1 night but what can I say. The welcome couldn't have been better. What a great couple run this site! They lent me a hook-up cable as mine wasn't long enough, helped fill my on board water tank and even parked my motorhome for me where it wouldn't get stuck (there had been a lot of rain recently) Am a bit of a 'woos' when it comes to reversing!
Didn't use the on-site facilities as my small campervan has it's own loo & shower, so can't comment on these. A new shower / toilet block is due to open around Easter and there are plans to put in hardstandings and additional drinking water taps.
Great location and fabulous views. Children will love the farm animals. Will definitely return for a longer stay.

We stayed here for 2 weeks at the end of August, weather was awful but hey cant blame site for that. Toilets were basic of which we knew before we arrived. All in all was not a bad site. Animals were lovely. People we met on site were lovely and when the sun decided to come out all the kids would play cricket together.I would go back to this site think it was good for the kids especially once the bank holiday passed and it wasn't so busy and we did meet some really nice people there too. I think this has definitely got the makings of a great site with it having stunning views and a great location .
