Over used campsite, very very muddy down by the river and also full of rampant midges.
However the owners are very friendly and couldn't do enough to help.
No play area other than a river for the children.
Fire pits are a bonus if you can stand the midgies.
Toilets are clean and to a standard you would expect of this sort of campsite.

Just returned from a 2 night break, what a fabulous site, mangaged to get a pitch right by the river, had read the reviews prior to arrival so came armed with citronella candles, and got a fire pit and logs.
Waterfalls within a 5 minute walk went swimming by the waterfall which was really quite warm. Our dog was having the time of his life and seemed to spend the whole time in the river!
Toilet facilities very clean and plenty of hot water and great showers, bit of a trek from the far end of the riverside but ok with a torch.
Could do with another block of showers/toilets for when very busy, but didn't wait too long.
Owners very nice and helpful, our neighbours pitched and asked if there was a spare fire pit, farmer said give him an hour, and he will have one, we joked he had gone to make one.He had! the metal was still hot from being welded!

We have just returned from our first camping adventure, 2 adults 4 kids and one dog. What can I say, fantastic site, spectacular views, the walk to Mucker is 3 miles there 3 miles back, but well worth the walk . The views are amazing.
The guy from the camp site is very helpful, bringing the wood etc for the camp fire (which made the evening !). The toilets, showers, wash area are clean. The advice from other campers about the midges were so true, but the citronella candle and fire keep them away!.
A brilliant start to our camping adventures.Would recommend this site to anyone !

This is a lovely site to stay on. We were given a few options for pitching our tent and we chose right next to the river. The only downside to this was the Midges, I would suggest bringing something to keep them away as there are a lot!
The toilet facilities were excellent and always clean even at night. I didn't use the showers as we stayed for one night but I can imagine they were probably just as clean as the loos.
The owner of the site regularly patrolled which was nice. Dogs were allowed on site.
There is an onsite shop which seemed to sell most things, and tea rooms but we didn't get time to visit.
Didnt go out and about that much but there are a few local villages nearby.

I have been many times over the past ten years. I find it very relaxing with fantastic views. A lovely family run farm with shop site and facilities very clean. I love the place, the local people are very friendly and you have miles of lovely walks along the pennine way. You will find a very good pub in the next village that does excellent food at reasonable prices and for a good breakfast visit the farm shop

Really nice campsite, good eggs, surprisingly good toilets, super soft ground for pegs on the upper bank. Well stocked shop and friendly staff. Would return again when we can. Take lots of midge repellent, good idea to have the wood baskets, the midges were rancid! Ate at the Tan Hill Inn, the Yorkshire pudding was good and meat nice, but the broccoli was too sloppy.

This is a fantastic site, lovely clean facilities and a bargain at £5 pppn. Make sure you get yourself a fire bucket on the site, wood and a citronella candle to keep the midges away, then sit back and relax and enjoy the peace and the views.
Good walks nearby, waterfalls in plenty and make sure you make the journey to The Tan Hill Inn, it's worth it for the views, beer and food.
Would most definitely return.

What a great campsite this is, plenty of room for tents & caravans & in a beautiful part of the countryside. There were 5 tents in our party & we were able to all camp together. The owners were very helpful & brought us logs to use on our camp fire, £4 for a huge bag of logs. There is also a river with beautiful waterfalls & it was a lovely warm day so we were lucky enough to be able to go in for a quick di.
Showers & toilets were very clean & the camp shop do a lovely bacon bun to set you up on the morning. We loved this site so much we are going again in August

Great campsite! Clean and comfortable toilets, showers and washing up area. Queues at peak times.
The fire pits they provide are a great idea, helps keep the midges away! I wish more campsites would provide these. May be best to camp on one of the higher fields to reduce the midge problem.
Useful campsite shop selling snacks and drinks. The pub in keld is good - very friendly, home cooked food. The walk to Tan Hill Inn is worthwhile although the pub itself is not as good as the one in Keld (food and service indifferent). Come back via Ravens Seat for excellent tea and a scone at the farmhouse there.
Many lovely spots on the river near the site for picnics.

Quick summary:
Rang ahead to check conditions, lady was very polite, friendly and helpful.
Not the usual dozens of rules etc, pretty laid back site. Location is lovely, just maybe a bit out of the way. But then again, sometimes you want to get out of the way :)
Facilities - at first glance don't look much (converted shipping containers) but are actually very well done. Really clean, great washing up room, brilliant shower room and looks to be recently refurbished. No hookups, no playground that we saw, but we didn't go to all fields.
Shop - Great shop, sold everything from logs to red wine to burgers etc, all reasonably priced, too.
Fields - 2 outer fields, overlooking the opening of the dale, look to be well kept.
Riverside field - secluded, sheltered and stunning. Able to have a fire in a provided pit. Logs £4 (BIG BAG!)
At the end of the field is a gate to a short walk to a series of natural weirs, which our dog loved splashing through.
Another walk on the entrance to the site which takes you down to a waterfall, sheep wandering in front of you, idyllic!
My wife and I visited on 10th & 11th July and stayed on the riverbank field, absolutely loved it. The midges are busy, but a citronella candle and some repellent sorted them out!
One thing though, if you come from the M6, be careful over the moors! Single lane with passing places, didn't get out of 3rd much. But Absolutely breathtaking. And go for a pint at The Tan Hill Inn. Dogs welcomed! Keld Lodge up the road (10 min walk up, 2 min rool down) does a good ribeye for £13.
