Just returned from a 2 night stay at what can only be described as a little 'gem' of a campsite. The owners are really welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. There is a friendly relaxed vibe on site.
The facilities are outstanding. The toilets were spotlessly clean and well stocked with good quality toilet paper, loo brush, little bins etc. There was always hand wash available and a toddler step so my 3 year old could easily reach the sink. Basically, attention to the little details really makes a big difference.
The family shower room is great, with 3 showers all together which made showering our 2 children so much easier. 2 sinks available for washing up and plenty of hot water made washing up painless. Christine has gone to a lot of trouble placing a wealth of information around the site re: places to visit, where to eat, etc etc.
The opportunity to hire a brazier for open log fires really made a difference to our evenings. The owner pops round and delivers the logs early evening which are reasonably priced at 3.50 a bag.
The children had plenty of space to play, and our little ones did manage to stay away from the stream (though am sure they will be in it when a bit older!). They loved the on site chickens too!
Ideally placed to explore Llangollen. The only draw back is the noise from the road, which is not an issue as it quietens down totally at night but we did notice it as the morning traffic started to flow. However, the positives of the site by far outweigh a bit of traffic noise and we are very much looking forward to our next visit! If only all campsites were run this well.!

Arriving at a campsite during the half term break and in the evening is always a concern, however here all our worries were put to rest by a very warm welcome from Louis and reassurance that all we had booked was ready and in place.
Our pitch was flat and Christine's pride in ensuring privacy and space between tents was a refreshing approach. The site has three main areas for camping all surrounded by beautiful scenery and various wild birds, including the occasional chicken that escapes from the farmhouse.
The toilet, washrooms and showers are all within close proximity of all pitches. Christine's morning and evening cleaning rota supported by her buckets and wheel barrow of cleaning products and supplies certainly ensured that the facilities were refreshed and fully equipped with quality toilet rolls!
The option to hire fire pits and purchase wood from the site was an excellent bonus and very reasonably priced. Great care was taken to ensure that all campfires were dealt with in line with health and safety regulations as well as maintaining the 'green grass' around the site, very reassuring especially when so many young children could be seen sitting around the fires melting marshmellows.
With a pub within close walking distance serving 'traditional food' that is good value what more could you ask for. We will definitely return for another relaxing short break.

Just come back from weekend here very welcoming site nice flat pitches plenty of space.Could have done with bigger drains in shower block as it was easier to dry your feet outside.
But generally good.If you don't want to cook an evening meal there is a pub across the road which does really nice food top notch T bone £14.95 home made chips, don't bother daytime the local graveyard has more going on.
But if you need a shop on sat or sun try a 7 mile drive to ruthin for some batteries.Lots of lovely places near horshoe pass, langollen, etc.
Would we stay here again?.Yes.

Our third visit to this lovely campsite but the first since the showers and toilets have been completed. Christine has put a lot of thought into what campers and caravanners require so we were all delighted with the new facilities which were always kept clean.
It was very busy when we visited on the Royal Wedding weekend but there was very little noise at night as Christine soon makes it clear to any troublemakers that it won't be tolerated.
This makes it an excellent site for families but she is also willing to welcome well behaved mountain bikers of all ages who come for the excellent facilities at Llandegla a few minutes up the road.
The cafe there is brilliant too. The village shop had essentials if you need them and there is plenty to do in the local area though we spent all our time at Llandegla with our teenagers.
Lovely campsite and lovely owners. Can't recommend it highly enough!

We stayed 4 nights and absolutely loved this site. The owners could not have been more welcoming and friendly and we thought it was very good value for money.
The facilities were brand new and exceptionally clean and well provisioned. The showers are still being improved and once all 5 are up and running this will be top class.
The site was full while we were there and there were adequate facilities for everyone.
The camp fires were an essential as it was extremely cold. The wood provided was fantastic and it was great that noise was banned after 10pm. A proper family site where you felt the owners wanted you to have a great experience. Plenty of shops within a 10 minute drive. We will definitely be back.
The kids loved the stream and spent all their time paddling and building dams.

Fabulous site 'spotless' on working farm. Superb showers and washrooms.L arge reasonably flat fields with great views.Christine is very welcoming always available to help.
If you want a weekend break this is perfect place to chill out with a good book or just amble around, lots of walks nearby including Offas Dyke Path,
highly recommended going back next weekend. Easy to find just head for the Crowm pub on the A5104,turn left and your there, if you use Sat Nav its accurate for the postcode. Enjoy.

We loved this friendly and well run site; Christine was extra busy over the Bank holiday weekend, with a full but not overcrowded site. The new shower block was fantastic, and the toilet blocks new and well kept.
Children were happily playing in the central open space. Wonderful location for a walking or adventuring holiday. The village post office and shop is the other side of a busy road, I would not send a child to cross alone, and you do hear traffic passing, but I would certainly like to use this site again, great value.

We have just come back from a weeks camping at this site which included the bank holiday. We were pleased with the site, the owner (Christine) was very friendly and from our arrival couldn't help us enough.
The showers were in the process of being constructed and by the Friday of the bank holiday 3 showers were available with another 2 very nearly finished. These along with the toilets and washing up facilities were clean and well stocked.
I have to agree with the other reviews regarding the camp fires - we hired out the fire pit and bought some wood off the owner, you cant beat sitting round a campfire with a glass of wine and its nice that the site allows and even encourages it! One night we were disturbed by some noisy fellow campers, these were dealt with quickly by the owner and no more was heard from them thankfully - the site has a no noise policy after 10pm that is much appreciated and on the whole adhered to.
The two pubs that are in walking distance were closed when we were there but one was promising to be 'opening soon', no fear though as local towns offer a nice selection of pubs and shops that are only a short drive away.
Our only problem we found was the road noise which is a shame as it is a problem that the owner cant solve - we would in future try to pitch further away from the road and hope this lessens the noise.
Having spoken to Christine, she tells me there are plans for the site to have fridges/freezers for ice packs, bike racks and drying areas, all additions that will be appreciated. All in all a very pleasant stay, recommended site and we would not be deterred from returning.
Ps - we went to Erddig Hall during our stay - highly recommended for a day out, with the house, gardens, outbuildings and cycle tracks - something for everyone!

We have just returned fron LLyn Rhys ( we had two nights before the bank holiday). On arrival we were met by Louis, there was a mix up with our booking but this was dealt with very quickly and efficiently. Louis came back to us & showed us our spot. He made you feel very welcome and was very approachable.
The other reviews mention kids but this was my mothers first camping experience at the age of 65. Thanks to Christine & Louis' welcome and the facilities they had to offer my mum will now try camping again.(She was worried about the shower and toilet facilities, being used to ensuite B&B's)
The addition of an electric point for hairdryers would improve this.
When we first looked at the showers they were all open plan which seemed a strange concept but by the time we had been and climbed Snowdon on the Friday we came back to shower cubicles having been completed. Christine was keen for my mum to try the showers & tell her what she thought. Boxes have been provided so that your clothing can be kept dry. Perhaps a few more hooks and seating would help the oldies.
I would highly recommend this site. They are doing their best to get things right for their visitors. The Farm area is extremely clean and the site looks well cared for. Attention to details makes this a good site as opposed to a basic site
The fire each night meant mum could go to bed warm even though the weather wasn't the best. Thanks very much - worth another visit.

This was a lovely campsite, very friendly and helpful owner. New shower block needs a little more work, but will great in the near future. Local pub was unfortunately closed and searching for new owners.
The next nearest pub was a short drive away - walking to it not recommended due to the busy road and lack of footpath. Really beautiful area, some fantastic hill walking and the local towns are well worth a visit.
Horseshoe pass is a 5 minute drive and provides a stunning view of the surrounding countryside. A popular area for motor bikers! We would definitely go here again.
